Win 7 - for a desktop pc very usefull, but for a netbook.. i dont know... ive got the same one as you... but i got win XP. your netbook needs ~60sec... but if i start my netbook i can start working after 20-30sec...
so all in all without tweaking win 7, your netbook is veeeery slow... ;)
@ferox8891 not very slow. its a cut version of 7, this means it aint got some functions and i does have some tweaks, that make it quite fast in ordinary work (internet, docs, icq, photos, video) it works normally. I can even play Warcraft3 om minimum settings. Yes, in games it is really slow;) but in standart netbook tasks it does great
you know the one you have is a bit expensive for a netbook so I'm confused if it's better to buy an ACER timeline series with 14" which is more powerful and also has 9 hours battery life . Difficult choice !!!
netbook is portability and comfort. I bring it to my university every day, and do not have any problems with it. 14 is more heavy, and i would also had to buy a seperate case for it, what would make troubles in bringing it everyday
With an upgrade to Win7 Home Premium and above, there WILL be Aero support but....a very BIG but. the GMA500 is so weak that enabling Aero on that 1366x768pixel HD screen will be too much for it to bear.
Have tried enabling Aero on a Sony VAIO X with the Z550(2GHz), 2GB RAM, GMA500 and Windows 7 Professional. *COMPLETELY UNUSABLE*.

aero support?
satainkara 2 years ago
no, unfortunetly. But works pretty fast, I expected it would be much slower on 7
DefenderF16 2 years ago
you can't say if it supports aero because the starter edition of 7 doesn't have aero
