Listening to this song, it certainly makes me think of home. As a soldier in the US Army, and having travelled to pretty much every corner of the world, I can say there is no place like my beloved "Show Me State." I know alot of Missourians dream of escaping, to find greener pastures..... I can assure you there are no greener pastures. I'm trying to find my way back home.
This song reminds me of 1971-72. I was stationed at Rantoul, Ill and I'd get the opportunity to drive home to Springfield, MO. every once in a while. As soon as I crossed the Mississippi and seen the Arch at St. Louis I felt like I was home even though I had another 225 miles to drive.
Smell the sun baked black top, the sweet smell of a corn field in the same hot sun, hot sand under your feet as you make your way to the northcut ditch to cool every thing off. Semo I'm comin home in my mind.
I used to live down by Rolla and whenever I drove to STL and passed the sign that said "Eureka" it reminded me of the TV show about the town Eureka :)

KCMO I thought I loved Missouri tell I did some travleing. I went north through Iowa,Minnesota into Canada. I went East throught Illinois to Chicago. I went south throught Arkansas and into Oklahoma and I went west throught god's arm pit(kansas) and to colorado. @flutey28 The Farmngton Fredrichtown(sp) area? Yeah its nice down there but I love my Northern Missouri rolling hills. Plus up north we get to shoot some of the biggest No.Missouri/Iowa whitetails in the nation. But dont get me wrong I love all parts of our great state from the boot heel to KCMO. Missouri is the most underrated state in the nation.

My roots are in Carrollton, Missouri out in the country 13 miles east of town. Good times and the feeling of pure freedom watching the trains go by and playing in the pastures. God I wish I was a kid again!

We used to always say we hated it and were bored, but it's a very beautiful blessed place of nature. Yes, when you leave for the world, you miss home and never forget just how bountiful the fish, deer, food, and fresh really is there. To bad the job market is not popping much... I want a good job, full benefits, including vacation to jet off to see the world, but I also want to be home more often. I guess self employment is the only way it's ever going to be right. I'm shooting for that one.
Grew up in Missouri my entire life....mainly Blue Springs east of KC, got family from all over. Butler/Passaic, Collins, Bolivar, Ponne Terre, Odessa. I moved to Florida, hated it out there, there's no place like 'home' Missouri.
I'm here reppin Ripley County, MIssouri. Hicktown, USA right here! Right on beautiful Current River. What a place Missouri is. You can't visit the big cities of this state and say you've been here. You've got to see all of the natural wonders of this amazing place.
Willow Springs, the Hub of the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways! Current River, Jacks Fork River, White River, Eleven Point River, and not to mention all the little clear water, gravel bottom creeks that feed them!

What a singer. What a state. We dont have the fake southern accents here! We are who we are! Tuck Fexas! So many real cowboys and cowgirls are from Missouri. They just move to Texas because thats where the money is in roping, cutting e.t.c.
! Society has convinced us you have to live in Texas to be a real cowboy/cow girl. God Bless Missouri!

Listening to this song, it certainly makes me think of home. As a soldier in the US Army, and having travelled to pretty much every corner of the world, I can say there is no place like my beloved "Show Me State." I know alot of Missourians dream of escaping, to find greener pastures..... I can assure you there are no greener pastures. I'm trying to find my way back home.

This song reminds me of 1971-72. I was stationed at Rantoul, Ill and I'd get the opportunity to drive home to Springfield, MO. every once in a while. As soon as I crossed the Mississippi and seen the Arch at St. Louis I felt like I was home even though I had another 225 miles to drive.

Absolutely in love with her. True country, true to her home, and being from rural Missouri I have a real appreciation for this song.

I used to live down by Rolla and whenever I drove to STL and passed the sign that said "Eureka" it reminded me of the TV show about the town Eureka :)

I will never leaave home. when we go out of town I love to here this song. Instead of bus wheels we have either the Cadillac and a Silverado when those truck wheels or the Vogues hit the boothill I know we ae almost home. Thank you who posted this you have made me happy. 11-12-09

NO WAY! Shamrock?! right down the road from where i grewup! (farm between Wellsville and Martinsburg) One of our neighbors used to talk about dancing in the top of the old store long ago, so of course me and my siblings just had to go look around in the old building! If ya don't mind me askin'...who are your kids?! I hope you find your way home soon

I'm in the Air Force stationed at Travis AFB, Ca. i've just returned from missouri on leave, and I MISS IT SO MUCH. All my friends and family live there in Bolivar, Mo. Missouri and the Ozarks are the best place in the world to live! Love you all back home, I'll be home soon.

KCMO I thought I loved Missouri tell I did some travleing. I went north through Iowa,Minnesota into Canada. I went East throught Illinois to Chicago. I went south throught Arkansas and into Oklahoma and I went west throught god's arm pit(kansas) and to colorado. And I can honestly say If I had the choice to never leave my beloved show-me state I wouldnt. I think its the people, nowhere I have ever been to can you start up a conversation with a stanger and enjoy it. I love you MIZZOU

@flutey28 The Farmngton Fredrichtown(sp) area? Yeah its nice down there but I love my Northern Missouri rolling hills. Plus up north we get to shoot some of the biggest No.Missouri/Iowa whitetails in the nation. But dont get me wrong I love all parts of our great state from the boot heel to KCMO. Missouri is the most underrated state in the nation.

@opnorth As a matter of fact I am just north of Farmington, yes. I only visited Northern Missouri once, all I remember of it was flatness. I suppose I just missed the beauty, although perhaps Iwas not looking :)

My roots are in Carrollton, Missouri out in the country 13 miles east of town. Good times and the feeling of pure freedom watching the trains go by and playing in the pastures. God I wish I was a kid again!

Living overseas now but chiming in for good old Poplar Bluff where I grew up and lived for better part of 25 years. Love this song and the picture as it brings back great memories. Sing it Sarah :)

I'm from Malden, MO....aka Hicktown. But, my absolute favorite place in MO is Alley Springs and the Jacks Fork River......so beautiful!

I'm from Blue Springs, just east of KC. I just told my wife I plan on making a video of all the streams and rivers, such as the Current and the Jack's Fork, that I floated in my younger days. I think the images would make a great video! MIssouri .. hicktown??? Danged right!!!

At my school all the kids say they hate it here. But I know that they'll leave and then they'll get home sick. You can't stay away from Missouri. If you where raised here, you'll come back.

We used to always say we hated it and were bored, but it's a very beautiful blessed place of nature. Yes, when you leave for the world, you miss home and never forget just how bountiful the fish, deer, food, and fresh really is there. To bad the job market is not popping much... I want a good job, full benefits, including vacation to jet off to see the world, but I also want to be home more often. I guess self employment is the only way it's ever going to be right. I'm shooting for that one.

Grew up in Missouri my entire life....mainly Blue Springs east of KC, got family from all over. Butler/Passaic, Collins, Bolivar, Ponne Terre, Odessa. I moved to Florida, hated it out there, there's no place like 'home' Missouri.

Willow Springs, the Hub of the Ozarks National Scenic Riverways! Current River, Jacks Fork River, White River, Eleven Point River, and not to mention all the little clear water, gravel bottom creeks that feed them!
