  • usisguy- I'm sure Jesus never joked... I'm sure he was completely somber at all times, and never employed any sort of humor whatsoever.

Also, God himself never uses sarcasm. When we're told that God had to come down to see the tower of Babel, that's literal and NOT a bit of Biblical sarcasm used to point out something. (Of course, if that last statement is true, then God is not all seeing...)

  • I am on staff at a church in Florida. The last thing on my mind during staff meeting is food or lifeguards on the beach. I usually have so much work to do that I work on a "to do" list in the back of my mind during staff. Everyone on our staff is very busy. This is a silly video and has no meaning whatsoever. It wasn't even funny. How much planning went into this silliness when there is so much to be done? Come on, Waters Edge, the Lord needs better from you.

  • usisguy - if you want to help and not hurt, then contacting the people at water's edge and telling them why you think the video is inappropriate should be your first avenue of action. We shouldn't just call people names and tell them to keep the video up because "the damage is done." If you truely believe they did something against Christ, then you should encourage them to repent in a loving manner - not simply call them names and give no assistance. Am I wrong?

  • We as Christians are supposed to point out error and rubuke them.Never once in the New Testament did Jesus or the Apostles use humor just the truth!

  • I go to Waters Edge so I wanted answer the context question. It was our church's 3rd birthday and the staff was joking about the planning for the birthday service - that's all. It was a light-hearted video not meant to actually condone sin - it's only funny because it's not how things really go at all. We are passionate about Jesus and people knowing Him. We try to provide a safe place for those seeking God to find Him. Humor is used to achieve this atmosphere but our sermons are Biblical.

  • Even if they are off why are they apostate?

  • Wow. It is important to always speak LIFE into the church. When leaving comments on youtube, we christians should always speak with love - and not be self-righteous. We are all sinners and Jesus died for us all. Let us not pretend that we are holier than our brethren. Let's lift each other up and LOVE as Jesus loved.

That being said, it's obvious to me that this video is poking fun at the staff.

btw - if there were no "seeker-sensitive" churches many souls would never hear the word.

  • Totally Apostate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • mattscott:

"and attempting to cause (even more) division in the church."

    Uh, read your bible:

...beware of those who cause divisions and offenses CONTRARY TO THE DOCTRINE you were taught.

The bible is clear that the CAUSE of the division is straying from true doctrine into this kind of seeker-sensitive hogwash.

But of course, I doubt that people who would defend this kind of behavior care much what the bible has to say.

  • I believe the question was asked if any of you have any idea of the context of this video. Perhaps that question is best answered before these attacks continue?

Perhaps I should create a site taking all of the slice posts I can find completely out of context to show how evil Slice is. That sounds like fun, I think I may do that.

  • The Slice folks are warning about the decline of American "Christianity" and have made many enemies doing so by turning over rocks and shining the light on the cockroaches.

This video is absolute trash produced by a worldly "church".

  • This grieves me greatly; they are a reproach to the name of Christ.

  • Watch out! the Pajama-Hadeen is after you. HA

  • Wow, I never knew Slice had such a large base of rabid Real True Christians available to attack video's on youtube. Maybe volunteer work would be a better way to spend your time than trolling the youtube comment section, and attempting to cause (even more) division in the church.

  • ok not only was that the worst acting i've seen, but why are they promoting lust now? I mean come on girl, get a hold of yourself. Why are you participating in this?

Paul Washer = win. He should go preach at their church. =D

  • Come on. This was made by some non-Christians making fun of Christians, right? This wasn't made by a church? I find it hard to believe that this was made by Christians. A Saturday night live skit making fun of Christians..sure. But Bible believing Christians would make a video so perverse and derogatory...would they?

  • Clown church, circus church...everything but Jesus Christ and His gospel that saves lost souls. So sad.

  • I just watched some of the other videos from watersedge and all I have got to say is..........great, another comedy church.

  • Thank you for your kind response, I was just going by the verses posted, I E these folks are not seen as Christians. From my view in the cheep seats it appears that way. God keep you and your family.

  • We do not think we are better Christians that anyone else. We should however, hold the Gospel and the church to a much higher and holy standard. I don't need to know what their intent was. The video says it all.

  • I understand the Slice folks are far better Christians then the folks in this video, better then all of us. Do any of you folks even know why they did this video, the context. Maybe you could have asked. Just an opinion.

  • I'm not sure the context would rescue this one, dude.

  • "The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the treacherous are taken captive by their lust." -- Proverbs 11:6

"Be not among drunkards or among gluttonous eaters of meat, for the drunkard and the glutton will come to poverty, and slumber will clothe them with rags." -- Proverbs 23:20-21

"The one who keeps the law is a son with understanding, but a companion of gluttons shames his father." -- Proverbs 28:7

  • I guess we know what's high on this church's list: pizza, donuts, and men. Great...where's the Word of God??!!

  • Welcome a prime example of the Laodicean Church...

  • final, you are so right
