@Cracker76 I remember being 12 and watching this and damn it made quite an impression on me... I must say I find myself using the old: "You Jew Motherfucker You!" from time to time xDDD
Robert De Niro's Best Performances: 1. Raging Bull (1980) 2. Taxi Driver (1976) 3. The Godfather, Part II (1974) 4. Cape Fear (1991) 5. Awakenings (1990) 6. The Deer Hunter (1978) 7. Heat (1995) 8. The King of Comedy (1983) 9. Mean Streets (1973) 10. Casino (1995)
I think I like this movie more than GoodFellas, and GoodFellas is definately in my top 10 movies of all time. I dont know this is like longer, better and more gruesome. This is really a underrated movie. It's amazing
The fact that the Academy's ignored this movie is beyond me. I mean If you loved Goodfellas, then this is very very close to it. But then the academy's also ignored "A Bridge Too Far", "Scarface", etc. The academy is biased.

this is one of the most underrated movies of all time...in some ways, this movie is better than Goodfellas. It has more depth to it. So many great acting performances...Sharon Stone, James Woods, Don Rickles... We need another Scorcese/DeNiro/Pesci gangster flick...just one more!!...this movie should have won every academy award there is...Scorcese at his best...if you haven't seen this movie, you've got to see it!! Especially if you loved Goodfellas...you might love this even more...
@XxowendanxX They are both great movies, but I think Casino is slightly better. I think the acting is a little better and I actually think Pesci is just as good in this as Goodfellas. De Niro was also very solid. I actually think the plot of the movie was fascinating as well.

Legendary! Instant classic! It starts with the Directing,Acting, and writing. I do not know of a better chemistry with director and actors than Scorsese, DeNiro, and Pesci. The relationship is timeless and so well crafted. It adds the zest that gives Pileggi the best modern mob movie screenplay writer alive the platform to deliver. The other details make the film have the flash of the Las Vegas of old such as cinematography, set design, dialogue delivery, and many other angles. A true gem!

I liked how there were many main characters who weren't Italian, or even connected guys (Sherbert, Green, Webb, Anna Scott), I think this film really shows alot of realistic stuff where you really see how the mafia works, it's deeply explained in detail. The skim that went through the Kansas City grocery store just BLEW my mind. The whole thing.
Looks like it has the exact same build-up as Goodfellas. First half you start to think how great it is to have a life like that, second half it shows all the bad sides of it.
@HLimmen Nah, the whole film shows vegas in a bad light, it is constantly described as a place full of garbage, unlike the way the mobsters in goodfellas were glorified at the beginning.
Brilliant film, absolutely love it. I wish i was old enough to go see this in the cinema. Oh well maybe one day they'll start showing classics and when they do i will be there.
When I watched casino through the end, the Layla piano song (from goodfellas) came to my head. I have this admiration for "movie gangsters" especially when their based on a true story and played by great actors.
I'm sorry but that has to be the best line in cinema history ~ 'I tried to do everything for you even though I knew deep down inside, you would bury me.'
Very violent but good movie. The scene at 1:06 where Frankie is beaten to death in front of Nicky, then Nicky is beaten within an inch of his life and buried alive was one of the most bloody scenes I've ever seen.
This is one of the best films of the 90's hands down. Without a doubt this has become one of my favourite movies. It's absolutely ridiculous that this film didn't receive any academy awards. Martin Scorsese knows his stuff!
@kkg108 At the time it was seen as derivative of Goodfellas, but I'd rather see a derivative of a masterpiece than an original piece of shit (most movies released today).

I live in Las Vegas and the Joe Pesci as Nicky Santoro (based on real-life mob enforcer Tony Spilotro) line early on in the movie that "but in the end, we F***ed it all up" REALLY fits out here right now.
the town overbuilt in the 90's and early 2000's and when the housing crash came, everyone in construction lost their job. we have damn near 20% unemployment.
Great film! Some say its a remake of Goodfellas but I totally disagree. Casino, IMO opinion is on par with Goodfellas if not a bit better! As usual, De Niro and Pesci were great, but Stone was outstanding.
I hate it when Pesci is pleading for Frankie to stop during the baseball scene, it's just horrible. Would you be able to do that to your best friend? Christ.
@KingGopherNuts I just hate that scene. I guess it's affects me more because it actually happened. People could argue that the Pesci character would have done the same thing to some other poor bastard if he had been ordered by the Mafia but what a way to die. Frankie's face is so haunting as well as he clearly doesn't want to do that to his best friend but he knew that if he didn't, he would have been in the hole with him.
WTF!? you have the ending of the movie in the trailer.
Goodfellas part two; you want to complete the trilogy search for middle men.
Seriously though, this movie was BADASSSS and I love how Pesci keeps gettin the role of "the little annoying guy that can kick your ass and gets double cross and killed because his own friends can't stand him"
@FlozelltheHotell I hated her too!! In every Martin Scorsese movie, there's one annoying character that never gets killed until the very end. (Morrie, the wig guy in "Goodfellas", for example.) I wanted them to bust a cap in her after half an hour of the movie.
A magnificent film. Martin Scorsese outdid himself with this one.

@LeRinkRat 20%?! Thats horrible man

Great film! Some say its a remake of Goodfellas but I totally disagree. Casino, IMO opinion is on par with Goodfellas if not a bit better! As usual, De Niro and Pesci were great, but Stone was outstanding.

at 1:06 i suppose pesci deserved it for what he did to that guy in goodfellas

Oh boy, they don't make movies like this anymore, that's for sure. Old movies kick new movies ass and that's a fact.

I hate it when Pesci is pleading for Frankie to stop during the baseball scene, it's just horrible. Would you be able to do that to your best friend? Christ.
johnny67448 11 months ago
@johnny67448 they were doing it to his brother.

I hated Sharon Stones character though - she gave me the shits...
FlozelltheHotell 11 months ago
@FlozelltheHotell I hated her too!! In every Martin Scorsese movie, there's one annoying character that never gets killed until the very end. (Morrie, the wig guy in "Goodfellas", for example.) I wanted them to bust a cap in her after half an hour of the movie.

De Niro and Scorcese are Modern Movie Gods...
Can't say enough...Its not all the time that you get to see true artists on top of their game...

plundering. It's not one of Scorsese's best, the violence is without merit, unlike Taxi Driver and Goodfellas.
johnny67448 11 months ago
are a bunch of hypocrites. Pesci gets butchered for screwing Ginger while those grease balls are stealing, killing and
