all the parts in this series are good and all, but I think you focus too much on a certain kind of tech skating in favor of other styles - more abstract, creative guys like gonz, jerry hsu, louie barletta (the whole enjoi team really), or the faster, gnarlier and rougher styles of teams like creature. and also yea, kinda silly trying to rank people, but whatever. thanks for putting up all these vids though.

@ooberskate Totally... to me rollin is an art, like music.. It's a balance between what you do and HOW you do it. The style is expression of the personality. Too many skaters are trying to do textbook tricks, trying to copy someone else's style, or trying to "be cool".
When I'm rollin, I don't care what other people think, I can do what I want and what feels good. And like Gonz said: alot of my skateboarding is watching and respecting other skaters. Just like in any art...

this is forsure not the best part ever, seriously not even top 10, although pj ladd is an amazing skater and i use to watch this part before going skating everyday. but definitely not the best. arto saari part in flip sorry smashes this.

the fact that anyone can even claim "oh, this guy is better than that guy" just makes me want to quit skating. the whole point of pushing wood is to escape from the mainstream popular culture of football and basketball morons. stop comparing skaters and video parts. everybody is different and everyone has different tastes. if we all liked the same thing, we'd be practicing our lay-ups right now.

@ooberskate Totally... to me rollin is an art, like music.. It's a balance between what you do and HOW you do it. The style is expression of the personality. Too many skaters are trying to do textbook tricks, trying to copy someone else's style, or trying to "be cool".
When I'm rollin, I don't care what other people think, I can do what I want and what feels good. And like Gonz said: alot of my skateboarding is watching and respecting other skaters. Just like in any art...

@ooberskate I never understood why some skaters have to disassociate from mainstream sports. I skate and love mainstream sports and so do all my friends that I skate with. I see parallels between skating and mainstream sports constantly. When we begin to criticize football and basketball players for being "jocks" it's kind of the same thing when they shit on skateboarding. Frankly, I'm proud that I can enjoy both cultures.

@ooberskate To all the people calling me an "emo fag" and saying that i'm taking skateboarding too seriously- all i meant by my comment was that in basketball or football, you can look at the stats and definitively say that one player is better than another, whereas in skateboarding its all about personal preference. Theres so many different styles, tricks, and types of skating, its nearly impossible to compare one skater to another.
