Metallica and Trans Siberian Orchestra have NEVER performed together. Metallica put out an orchestral album with the late Michael Kamen conducting the San Francisco symphony orchestra. TSO had nothing to do with that recording whatsoever. TSO is a symphonic classical and/or christmas rock band formed from by members of the band "Savatage" and their uber-producer Paul O'Neill. They tour in 2 split groups with their own band members. Never has metallica performed with them in any capacity.
Obviously, the gentleman, awesome he is, who posted this vid, knows it's by TSO or he wouldn't have labeled it with their name ..... Think about that for a minute ...
This is a quote from the TSO Christmas Eve and Other Stories cd Liner notes... "The song Christmas Eve /Sarajevo 12/24" was first released on the Savatage rock opera DEA
ok folks check it out. Metallica in no way shape or is associated with TSO. The song Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24) was first released by Savatage in 1995 on their cd Dead Winter Dead. Savatage producer Paul O'Neill created TSO building on the success of '12/24', and reli Tso is basiclly Savatage with an orchestra. Same band members in both.

What on earth are you talking about? Metal will kill this song. This is true music and an amazingly talented Orchestra. Metallica is not nearly half amazing as TSO!
@godspeakfire That is an unfortunate rumor that people have spread. Metallica had nothing do do with ANY of the TSO songs. At all. No individual members of Metallica. No group Metallica. Nothing. Not even the slightest tiniest of affiliations. At all.
Even if Metallica and TSO haven't done anything together, they should, they could make some beautiful music, especially with lars as the drummer, james singing, yeah would be awesome.
There are rumors Metallica did do the Carol of the Bells feat with TSO. no reason to denounce the band. BUT as a fact they DID play with an orchestra ..during S&M they performed with the San Francisco Symphony.
All in all they are great bands I myself being a huge fan of Hetfields work.
@MetalSystem91 That's exactly what we're saying. Frankly, the rumor was about Metallica performing with TSO on "Christmas Eve Sarajevo". Don't know where the rumor started about them playing on "Requiem" but that's all it is...a rumor. That's why TSO didn't credit Metallica on the album "Christmas Eve And Other Stories" and "Beethoven's Last Night". Why credit someone who had nothing to do with it?
@GreenDay1981 i see. it definately doesn't sound like metallica's playing with them. metallica has a distinctive sound in their music, and i don't exactly hear it in this composition. what you're saying makes sense.
btw, by the looks of your account name, I think it's safe to say that you're a green day fan? if that's the case, then you'll be happy to know that they're coming out with a Rockband Green Day (that is...if you're into that sort of game :P)

I've spent untold amounts of time listening to Metallica, and I promise you, Metallica isn't in this song. You can't hear James' guitar, you can't hear Kirk's (both of which are easily recognizable), and this isn't lars's style of playing. I think people are either confused, stupid, or just want views to put these up.
The main part of the song is all guitar, drums, and violin. I do know that Jon Oliva from Savatage did some of the songs on this CD. @velicitygirl321 Yeah, what CEnforce said. Who's dumb now? You really thought the S&M concert was TSO? TSO is made up of pretty much all violinists. They don't have a horn section, xylophone player, or a harp player like on S&M.
TSO made me like classical against my will haha. I've always hated it, until about the end of last year... when I saw some christmas light show (Which was lame) and liked the music. Thanks TSO!! And thanks for uploading this!
Dude... Metallica had nothing to do with the production of this music. I'm not sure why the world is so obsessed with clumping TSO and Metallica, but it's just not applicable.
That's what I was thinking. Maybe some guys in TSO listened to Metallica on the way to record this, but that's about the closest link there is between the two... for now.
jared do u mean the views or do u mean, how did he make the video, its easy to make the video, i no it is a sick video, but it is very easy, no offense matt, it is still always going to be awesome, o ya and you put this on less than a month ago, and it has 1,043 viwes, imagine wat it will have in 3 years or something, 12 times 3 equals 36,000. holy crap dude that's sick!!!!

Maybe some guys in TSO listened to Metallica on the way to record this, but that's about the closest link there is between the two... for now.

Here we go again...
Metallica does NOT play a single note on this song! It's TSO only, from their 'Beethoven's Last Night' CD.

wat do u mean by "here we go again"?
musicman4466 3 years ago
I mean Metallica never worked with TSO. People keep crediting stuff to Metallica that they never worked on. That's what I mean by here we go again.
