Okay thanks so much! i don't mean to sound dumb, but what is the difference between the one in Chicago and New York. I've actually taken classes at the one in New York but i don't know the difference.

@iwillmakeittonnyc Joffrey Chicago is good and Joffrey NY is not. To put it completely blunt. But also Joffrey in Chicago is a company and a school, while the one in New York is only a school.

Oh okay thanks so much! I've actually taken classes with NY. Would it be stupid to ask why there are two? YOu don't ahve to answer if you think i'm slightly insane:P

@iwillmakeittonnyc Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino founded the school in NY in the 50's and taught classes to make $ for their touring group. Later that group turned into the Joffrey Ballet in NY so the school and the company were still affiliated. When the company moved to Chi in 95 the school in New York was no longer affiliated with the company, but retained it's name. Only recently, Jan 08, did The Joffrey Academy in Chicago begin, but it's already been named Outstanding School by YAGP.
