It is not a coincidence that countries which drink the most milk per person have the highest rates of osteoporosis. Milk protein is acidic and in order for our bodies to neutralize the acidity (which our bodies must do) we have to use up phosphate. The only source of phosphate in our bodies is in our bones. So we take that away leaving our bones weaker. Good sources of calcium would be in dark leafy greens, nuts, beans/lentils.

Before i cut it out i had about 3glasses and i didn't feel too different but i couldn't run or workout right after. When i cut it out I was fine, i just purely drink water even with my protein powder, i drink about 1&1/2 gallons a day, i don't feel too different either, i feel more hydrated and lighter, i really wanted to cut carbs out my diet, i never put it back in.
I'm reading that chocolate milk is the best intra-workout drink--i read that Michael Phelps uses it between swims. What do you think about using chocolate milk instead of gatorade or powershock? I train and compete in jiu jitsu 5 days/week. matches are 6 minutes non-stop.
Milk never really made me feel that bad, but I don't really eat it on a regular basis as I never really felt it added much to my diet and in excess could constipate me. I sometimes eat a little goat cheese here and there, but its like a once a month type thing...
it's genetics too. most people are actually lactose intolerant, cause of their placement on the map. if your ancestors ate milk and cheese and tolerated it, chances are you will too. i would not trust raw milk myself, but organic grass fed milk, and that's the only kind of meat i eat as well-- milk is ok sometimes, and i crave it at night to sleep. heating it up actually makes one sleepy... so yeah, milk is ok with me as long as it's not too much and the right kind.
Great vid Jimmy... I learned a lot from this... Questions...What about cheese? does have the same affect as milk? What do you know about using soy milk? I just started to use that and I wanted to know the benefits of it.
@yaksmut Well it really depends on why you're using soy milk? Unless you have certain specific conditions there's no need to use it. For cheese, use grass fed cheese!
@jimmysmithtraining Is soy milk any Better or worse for you than regular milk??? you look huge right now... Especially the forearms... Thats just an observation... LMAO
in the village every one drinks only raw milk and no one gets sick with and thats one of their remedy when some one gets sick...i have a 1L per day and i started to pack on muscle in 2 month i packed on 20 lbs!!
All I drink is organic rice milk. which isnt really milk at all in terms of this discussion, but is a valuable source of nutrition in my mind. A good source of healthy fats, vitamins, and about 10g simple and 10g complex carbs per serving. 1-2 servings per day
@smith7145 And I have not had typical store bought milk in my diet for probably 2 years. I can say Ive only felt better since doing this. A lot less allergies, gastrointestinal discomfort, heightened immune system.
@jimmysmithtraining MILK IS POISON!!! Its a Brainwashed society!!!! eat veggies take Coral Calcium! and drink Hemp MILK and Almond Milk!!! Gluten is poison to! Milk is why people have allergies and asthma!!! Got Milk, More like Got CANCER!!!
Beans, basmati rice, brown rice, quinea, sweet potatoes. all great gluten free carbs!!
I removed milk in my diet and felt unbelievable. I wasn't bloated anymore, and I felt better overall. I drink more water now and I just don't see the reason to put it back in. THe only dairy I eat is Greek Yogurt or Cottage Cheese and that is once a day, but only before bed and I don't have a problem.
