  • That cover artwork is by Geiger, the guy who did all the alien design for "Aliens" and "Species" - really great artist. And a stunning album.

  • grande magma ctm

  • Attahk is a seriously underrated record! It's one of my favourite Magma albums, actually...but maybe that's cause I'm a Funkateer...

  • SpaceRitual, LOL!!!!! That's rich! I love that! And that's probably one of their "easier" pieces to get into. Know what I'm saying?

  • I played "The Last Seven Minutes" at the record store I work at, and during one of the funky breakdown parts, I notice a middle aged woman really start to get down. Then she really started listening, stopped dancing, and got an extremely confused look on her face. One of my favorite reactions to music.

  • @SpaceRitual That is the single greatest story of all time. lmfao As an ardent Magma fan, I could die if I ever live to see something like that happen. XD It's a shame though, I sometimes think that the only fans in Montreal are myself and the few friends of mine that I managed to convert. :P

  • @SpaceRitual Classic~!

  • Very Nice!

    My favorite Band!

  • The Last Seven Minutes is really a great piece of Magma's music even if hardcore Magma fans believe the group stopped before the release of Attahk.

Try DeFutura from Udu Wudu (16 mins ) and Köhntark ( 35 mins ) from Magma Live 1975 : they are probably among the most incredible rock pieces ever created.

To Life , To Death, Ever !

  • hey, great vid. what' s the music at the beginning?

  • @cowes Glad you liked it! My theme music is by Los Lobotomys and it's called "Paty in Simon's Pants" featuring Steve Lukather, Simon Phillips, John Pena and David Garfield. Great band taken from the album "Candyman" on Viceroy Records.

  • hey, great vid. what' s the music at the beginning?

  • I love prog rock as well

do u want to chat with me by private mssges about prog?

  • Good video, but photos from paris by night... were incompatible, inenarrable with Magma's music. So i saw them at "la laiterie" in Strasbourg in 99 or 00 ??? it's so far ! It was magic (the good word) They played Mekanik destruktiw Kommandoh, and Wurdah Itah at this time, in their live. Buy a plane ticket and come to see them in action in France Pals !!!

    Julien from france, Bye

  • excellent!!

  • VacYoyo, Gracias!!!

  • That's a seriously hyperactive lava lamp in the background! Did you pour some meth in there or something?

  • You've got a point there. That's my new and improved lava lamp. My old one broke. Stay tuned for a new set and a slightly different look. Cheers!!!

  • Oh god I'm so turning into you when I get older, lol.

  • I hope that's a good thing, ha!!! Peace!

  • I have a cassette of the Attahk Lp. I have to say it's one of their best. Maahnt is even better than this track.

  • excellent

  • man you need to loosen up and learn your info. it seems very amateur how you cant remember the band members' names, even the song's name, without reading off your computer.

  • It's hard to choose a definitive Magma track that lasts less than 10 minutes...at least not without butchering one of their "seamless" concept albums...but the only other one I would have used other than this one is "Hhai." Very nice job, progrockman...I'm a "progrockgirl," myself!

(In answer to those who say "girls don't 'get' Magma"...)

  • Thanks so much! Yeah, people have got to get off this notion about women not getting prog music. Good music is good music no matter who you are! Actually Stella Vander, et al. is a key figure in the Magma sound, know what I'm saying? Cheers!

  • Will you marry me?

  • Actually, when I wear my magma shirt it is always women who recognize it here in Seattle. Its been at least four of them... no men. I even know a woman in a prog band with a magma tattoo on her back. I played a concert video for a group of friends and the only one who wanted to hear more was the woman (DJ Tamara). Chicks dig magma (too bad my wife doesnt).

  • @xylenz : I'd kill for a woman with a Magma tattoo!

  • Gotta love the lavalamp in the background!

  • Yeah, gotta have some atmosphere, you know!

  • ProgRockMan....Great Job. Good to hear some Magma again!

  • excellent job on video. magma is one of my favourite band ever. i'm searching a dvd with magma but in Romania i can't find it.

  • great band, I love 70's prog bands

  • Thanks so much, Yes! Magma is Great band!

    big greetings.

  • Thanksgogzemez, very unusual mix. I like the operatic style.

  • oh way cool the magma episode, great as always
