All Ossetians living in Georgia speak Georgian language as their native tongue. Dali Makieva is a good example. They do not speak Russian as their native tongue - and that says a lot! They speak Georgian in Samachablo - a Georgian province which Russians like to call "South" Ossetia for political reasons we all know. Yes, I also have a friend like that, her father is Ossetian. She married a Georgian guy and they have two kids which attend Georgian school. Their last name ends with a Georgian ending "dze" and they speak Georgian even better than I do. They always lived in Tbilisi and wouldn't go anywhere else, not in a million years. Last time I visited them, her dad bitterly told me "I am Ossetian...when I see Kokoiti on TV, I feel ashamed and scared for Ossetians".

Right Abkhzia and SO have been independent for a long time, but Kokoiti and Ardzinba did not win the wars. The wars(from 1990s to 2008) are won by Russia, but the Russia's victory is very short. KGB generals and dictatorship loving individals will pay for their crimes.

This report is talking about Komolski district.. it is not Republic of South Ossetia.. Secondly the report is not claiming that he is speaking Ossetian. Any body who know`s Ossetian.. know how poud they are to speak there own Language. In North Ossetia you hardly listen to Russian sound but mostly Ossetian. THe same to South Ossetia. The most people speak daily Ossetian.. Native Tongue was, is and ever will be Ossetian. Georgian is language for Georgia not Ossetia.

Georgians are not forcing anyone to speak Georgian. It's a free country. In Tbilisi, people speak all kinds of languages. Georgians have hosted a number of diffrent nationalities and many nationalities have found refugee in Georgia because Georgians do not discriminate people.

so, ossetians who lived in georgia since long ago had to leave for s.ossetia and russia in early 90s. it means georgians started ethnic cleansing of georgia proper in that time and they tried to finish the task by cleansing s.ossetia recently. really, *democratic* country, ally of US.
