This whole movie is clearly about drugs. In Princess Margaret's case, it's ecstasy (just listen to the lyrics of this song!)  And "Land of the Clouds"....getting high, right? LOL

Tulip is on crack, Jack is on pot, and the wedding scene between Tulip and Princess Margaret is reminiscent of the side effects of LSD, what with everything moving et al

That's what the "spell" Madame Hecuba, the "drug dealer", put the Princess under.

I remember seeing this on some random american tv channel when I was a little kid. It stuck in my head somuch that when searching the internet became a way to find such things, I was so happy to find this entire animation. Such a beautiful song, I wish it were known beyond this anime, and also thanks to whoever shared this amazing work with us!

I remember hearing this haunting song 30 years ago when I was a lonely kid looking for something to watch on TV.I am surprised that so many people have commented about how much this song means to them. Odd as it may sound I had a dream where I was trying to look up "Jack and the Bean Stalk anime" which is the only key words my brain came up with for this I guess...anyway I always dreamed about finding this again ty so much all of you who posted :)

I haven't seen this movie since I was like 7 years old. This song in particular stayed with me though....I remember that she was under a spell when she sang it though, which made it kind of eerie. But this is definitely a haunting melody if ever there was one.

This is one of the most beautiful and haunting songs I've ever heard. I was so happy to hear it again after so many years.

This version of Jack and the Beanstalk has really been lost over time. It was such a great rethinking of the classic story. I still remember the first time I saw it so many years ago. I'd love to see it show up on TV one of these days so more people could know about it.
