  • I kind of think those days shown on the box where women weren't complete whores, dressed like ladies, actually knew how to cook/clean and had respect for themselves while men weren't douches always talking about the whore they scored with in the middle of public, dressed like gentlemen (not baggy jeans that sagged exposing their underwear for everyone to see), got married to their "baby mama" and attempted to speak English not some broken dialect from the hood or swear profusely seemed nice.

  • He promised but never did. :p

  • sexy what are you gay!!

  • @Ailennnn No it isn't (I understand what you said it's ajoke

  • They're making a movie based on this game.

Is it going to be sexist too?

  • Well.. one can't really say anything about the box cover, that was then.

  • REPTAR >:3!

  • lol imediately at the begining i already saw the sexist on the box lol

  • This box cover made the "Ellen" show's "What's wrong with these photos?" segment today.

  • well it was a diffrent time back then

  • this guy is a weird ass

  • LOL dad and son having a grand ol time in the dining room, cut to mom and sis in the kitchen, only dreaming that they could one day have such fun too! xD

I don't see why women complain about men holding doors for them? I am always flattered when a man bothers to do this for me! I don't see why everyone gets all crazy over "sexism". This is the 21st century...it's not like sexism is alive in thriving in our country...it's pretty rare actually....some place far off, maybe.

  • LOL the fifties had great taste in television but poor taste views of women and men!

  • I don't get how this drew out so many "GIRLS ARE BETTER" commenters below me.

It's just a game from the fifties, get over yourselves.

  • I beat many guys at battleship and I'm a girl

  • am i the only one who thought the title said "Sexiest" instead of "Sexist"?

  • Lol Wikipedia pages are able to be edited and sometimes, they're full of B.S. Don't take anything from there seriously. xD

  • you should review the chocolate version where you get to eat your ships

  • Women still do the dishes. Big deal it's two guys playing a game. The sexist card is going too far. Would it be sexist if it was a Barbie game with two little brothers in the back ground playing with rocks in Tonka trucks? I think the battleship game is trying to portray it is a fun after dinner game. Guys can get pretty aggressive when playing games and sometimes that makes the ladies not want to sit in on the game.

  • I've yet to see a female President. Nuffsaid.

  • @ShammyWoWLoL female President as in female President in U.S. you mean?

  • Girls are stronger cause we give birth were as guys just loose hair.

  • I noticed that girls complain about us being sexist and that we think they are weak.Well you make it look like it,if you make us open the door for you or some shit like that.

  • This box created sexist single handedly

  • !?? the only way a girl can beat up a boy is by kicking him in the balls.

  • That's hilarious! Dad looks like he might have a gay lover hidden away somewhere - and Mom is tanked on Valium to keep from slitting her wrists....

  • Wikipedia lies sometimes.

  • im not a girly girl ( in fact - i hate anything even the bit pink) but that is very offensie to girls

  • 1:20 dad has a scary face lol!!

  • lol

  • hah, wikipedia... XD

  • So Sexist XD

  • I have that box XD I picked it up last week at a year sale just because I saw the artwork and it a relly good version better than the one I bought for my younger brother last year

  • battle my shit

  • come on.

  • "bring me a sammich"

    that made my day.

  • hehe my mom and i used to play this game all the time when i was young...

  • Don't forget it's racist too, as there's only white people on the box. And they're probably Christian too. Ewww, scary! How programmed are you?

  • It is what it is. That is the way it was back then AND you know what....for the most part we had a better generation back then when it came to family life. NO ONE can deny the family unit was much more stable back then. And it is most likely attrubuted to the Mom being at home helping to take care of the house and put meals on the table..not out of a box that we nuke and eat in front of the TV.

  • @slambo239 There are still a large number of women who stay at home and care for the family today, and some who work while doing it.

Attributing a 'better generation' with stronger family values to them not eating microwaved dinners sounds, honestly, ridiculous. The family unit was 'stronger' because dysfunction and disrespect weren't as tolerated, and you certainly didn't advertise it if it was.

Besides, kids born in this 'better generation' reached adulthood in the /late 70s and 80s/.

  • @ExplosiveConversion Why must people take ONE excerpt from a commment and skew it to make a point? Did I say that it was attributed to not eating microwave dinners...NO I did not. I said it was mostly because there was a Mom that stayed home and took care of things while ALSO putting homemade meals on the table. Which in turn had the family all at one table eating and not in fornt of a TV in different rooms of the house.

  • @slambo239 I didn't attribute it to solely not eating microwaved dinners either. I said that mom being home can hardly be solely attributed for a 'better generation', and that it was a 'better generation' at all is arguable.

The kids who grew up around the fifties, when this this toy was made and it was 'the way it was', reached adulthood in the 70s and 80s when these sorts of beliefs were being completely discarded. If anything it seems like it caused a rebellious generation, not a 'better' one

  • i have the one with the 2 men on it and never noticed lol i dont notice many things lol

  • Well the box cover sure made it collectable

  • Ok I am a girl and I would play it back then I mean what are they going to do put me to jail for playing a game for BOYS and MEN?! So Sexist and very gay I would never be happy doing my dishes with my mom!

  • looks like that box was made in the 50s or so lol

  • I really don't care.

  • ROFL

  • Maybe the Men cooked dinner on the grill..and it was the womens turn to do the dishes..u shouldn't jump to conclusions.

  • this isn't sexist. People wouldn't think it was sexist if the roles were reversed. If it were the MEN doing the dishes, and the WOMEN playing the game, no one would care.

  • @MrHiu2

Believe me, it is. This was made during the time when 'a woman's place was in the home' and men were the big important bread winners and all that. It was considered normal at the time, so I really don't see what the big outcry is with some of the other comments, but I can almost guarantee that the makers of this game thought that this was where women were supposed to be, not simply because of the picture but because, of course, it was considered normal.

  • totaly sexist!!!

  • SEXIST

  • omg thats the box i have i also got a hangman box with vincent price on it

  • I always won at battleship at least online xD .. my boyfriend knows that ;)

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX now who's the sexist one?

  • @Sealord75369 Oh, I don't mean ALL people just the people that made the box because girls aren't always in the kitchen.

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX They should be.

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX WORD SIS..i just scared the sh- outta a 12 grade football jockey... AND IM ONLY IN 9th GRADE >:D

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX I agree that women shouldn't be considered incapable of doing anything a man can do. But the whole opening the door thing, isn't that just politeness? Men aren't trying to imply that women are incapable of opening the door, we're trying to be polite. I've been accused of sexism before for doing this and it really annoyed me because I was just trying to be nice.

  • @Hemsy19 Oh, I wasn't meaning when they're trying to be polite I'm talking about when some people are saying things like, "Oh, you're too weak let me get it for you." Like some other boys at my school :/

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX GIRLS ARE USELESS

  • @LEGOpwneage49 You wouldn't be here without your mom and your mom is a girl i hope.

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX my mommies a hermaphrodite

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX Yeah, but I like having the door opened for me :P

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX Some pretty weak boys you have in your school.

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX hi my name is georgia and i play tackle footy in the class i can ussally beat up all the girls or boys who bully bc they dont know that i play tackle and there is this particular girl who i smashed up for kicking me in the face and now i dunno y but doesnt go to school any more and i am 10 and i aint really that big and im not a bully i just do that to defend myself and i think that your right all the girls in class prob coul;d beat the boys in arm wrestling if they tried! lol

  • @XGeorgiaLPSX Now get back in the Kitchen!

  • @phillip1500 WELL I JUST EATED YOU SANDWICH >:3

  • At least they weren't making sammiches. That's progress.

  • 0______0

  • sexist. but at least women on the box looks happy

  • I have that game in my base ment right now! I am looking at it!

  • HUMAN CREATURES ARE FUNNY. SUCH LIMiTED MINDS THEY HAVE SIGH ....

  • i dont think its really that sexist theyre just washing dishes so what?

  • @paperpics .......... why aren't the girls playing then, huh? ;)

  • @IzzyBuzyFrizzy okay not to be sexist at all but this was like teh 1940s'/50s' That What Women DID Back Then

  • @paperpics Yeah, that's what I'm talking about.... -.-

  • @IzzyBuzyFrizzy Me too. Later that night she played battleship, the wife was the battleship, and the husband was the missile.

  • realy!, they would have mother and daughter washing dishes?

wow if thats not sexist I wouldn't know what else it would be called.

  • i dont see anything wrong with that lol

  • this is win

  • For whoever say this is sexist, we are talking the 1940's and 50's, and women were the ones who worked around the house

  • they got back in the kitchen

  • Id rather be at home doing dishes than pulling a 40-50 hour work week at a job I cant stand.

  • Sexist, maybe... but everyone looked so much happier. When was the last time you washed dishes with your mother or played a board game with your father?

  • The artwork on the box is most appropriate, a woman's place is in the home catering to her man's needs. Preparing food, vacuuming, and servicing the man of the house's needs is the role of women.

  • @cheeky577 Never man, never. That's a load of sexist bullshit, no female in my family washes dishes, my grandad does and we're not in the 1930's anymore bro get with the times!

  • no female in your family ever washes dishes but men do? that's sexist to

  • @renardo3333 no, my grandad volunteers, everyone washes the dishes, vacuums and etc. I'm just sayin the 1930's are over, women aren't slave workers for men, just like all men aren't stupid and/cheaters like sexist women think

  • agreed, for a moment i thought you were one of those crazy feminazis, glad to see there are still people with more then half a brain cel on this planet

  • @renardo3333 lol I do admit my last comment did sound pretty sexist to guys. My bad it came out wrong :)

  • Then again, it's Wikipedia. There's reasons why prestegious Universities don't allow it to be used for actual references.

  • @georgef551 - spot on! Wikipedia is a stinking pile of horse puckey. Always mistrust it, many asshole axe grinders write entries on Wikipedia. I'm surprised this dude Mike Mozart is "surprised" by the inaccuracy of Wikipedia in this instance. He should not be so stupid as to look to Wikipedia as a reliable reference tool. Its definitely not accurate. Especially for controversial subjects.

  • @cheeky577

I do use it for general reference, but I do find it more accurate when it comes to known things, like the invention or improvement of something, or how something works. The more recent and theoretical, like you said, it's a gamble.

  • Sexist!!!

  • for it being made during those days its not sexist but now people would say its sexist

  • i want my wife to stay in the kitchen

  • dont trust wikipeadia

  • sexist and GAY. ( a game for BOYS and MEN *cough* )

  • @Mysticsloth It's a game about the Navy. You expected anything less?

  • @Mysticsloth can't be gay doesn't swish enough and it's not fabulous *lol*

  • @Mysticsloth Umm... That doesn't mean gay just because a Dad and his son are playing a game together.

  • you're suprised wiki was wrong

  • thumbs up if at first you thought it said "sexiest"

  • Ahhahaha!! That's really funny! Umm....NOW it would be sexist, but back then it was the truth! so, Meh!

  • win

  • lol

  • now a days yeah totally sexist but back then that was the way things where so glad it's changed now

  • rofl i was wondering why the title said sexist until at 0:09 rofl :P

  • I'm a chic and I have this exact box. For years, I didn't even notice that..... =/

  • Two girls: Can we play?

Two guys: NO MAKE US SANDWICHES!

  • Am I the only one that thought it said sexiest? no not the reason i clicked on it, i have a life.

  • OMG I have this same version!LOLZ!!!!1

  • SEXIST better wash my dishes

  • A woman could never be a military strategists because the enemy can always just wait for her period to sink her battleship while she is distracted.

  • I don't quite see how boxart that reflects its own time is something to make a big deal about, but whatever.

  • Ah, when men were men and women were dogs. What has happened to this country?

  • box art work looks awesome! and looks odd for women and girls "real life their is army's,navy's,troop's and U.S. Force Women's And Girl's" Yep! Difiying A Fail Lol

  • Wikipedia is wrong on like everything.

  • sexist. For sure. Now, if you excuse me, I must go make sandwiches for my brother. lol jk

  • its not sexist in any way i see the box to be innocent plus its just a drawing so get over it mike this is one of those worthless videos i see you make

  • @jgantner1 You see many thing, do you not. Too bad you can't see how useless your own comment is.

Behind a drawing is a person, that person draws things as he/she sees them. This person thinks men should be playing games as the women stay in their kitchens to clean up what they leave behind. If that escapes you, you don't really see much, at all.

  • that the way like it should be today again

  • Comment removed

  • it now says in wikipedia 1931

  • I think its legit

  • REAL MEN HAVE TEDDY BEARS.

  • that is not sexist!! hahaha

  • wikipedia is 70% acurate

  • I have this game in this box! I'm a girl, and even I didn't notice it! :o

  • grrrrrrr

  • if we could only teach these women today how to be old fashioned

  • thats our typical white family

  • get over it desideedee

  • the mother teaching the daughter how to become a good wife to a husband in the future

  • @timjumper7 .. and NEVER EVER to forget her headscarf and face-veil when leaving the house. And remind daughter to bear many little God Soldiers for the next upcoming Holy War. And that people who do not belive in a certain Dogma are not real people and must not be touched. And that slavery is okay.

  • the man comes home from a hard days works he expects the housewife to cook his dinner and take care of the kids and the cleaning

  • hell nothing wrong with the mother and daughter washing the dishes ,,,,

  • yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

  • Sexist. im sick of all the fuckin kitchen jokes. make yourself a sandwitch or ill castrate your ass!

  • Six thumbs down voters must want their women in the kitchen

  • One of my favorite games. Thanks for posting this Mike. I've got the version that has that kid from the Brady Bunch on the cover, in great condition too.

  • How do you fix a womans watch?

You don't theres a clock on the oven.

How do you know a woman is about to say something intelligent?

She starts the sentence with "a man once told me".

LOL no offence intended just said that as a joke

  • bitch stay in the kitchen

  • U CAN NEVER TRUST WIKIPEDIA

  • oh... i thought it said " Sexiest " lol

  • @KITTEH10 me too me too

  • They couldn't have just shown the two guys playing without having to put in stereotypical females.

  • It's sexist. I'm a guy and I know that females are always better than males.

  • I have this version. And I don't really care if it's sexist either. not that I am, I just don't care. Thats how it was back then, people just have to deal with it.

  • SEXIST!! GIRLS 4EVA!!

  • in today's world, this picture would look more like the boys playing black ops and the girls making them a sandwich. :I

  • I MEAN REEELY.

  • @Cerezodepapel well yeahh but it doesnt mean girls cant play it

  • @Cerezodepapel well yeahh but it doesnt mean girls cant play it i dont mean i can play it

  • Milton Bradley has the right idea.

  • If it were just the mom in the kitchen the daughter was talking to her friend or playing so that way it dident look like girls cant hav fun

  • at the time of this comment thaksgiving is tomorrow

that box art should have a turkey in the oven

  • i think the reason why they have women in the kitchen on the box was because most women in that time period didn't have jobs and therefore took care of their kids. Was it stupid to assume that no women or girl would play this game.... yes, but they are just trying to appeal to how things were typically done in those days

  • wiki is is writen by creeps in theres moms basement with no back up info

  • we have this addtion of battle ship, I lol every time I see it! XD. Not sure if it was sexist at the time, so I don't really care much.

  • woman in the kitchen...I mean REALLY..

  • That's not sexism,Sexism is wrong, and being wrong is for women. lol Just joking folks.

  • dude...wrong! sexist and wrong!

  • It's sexist. I mean really!

  • win!

  • That was the norm back then. Political correctness hadn't even been thought of. They still used the n word.

  • Very Sexist!

    Glad that's over.

Wish I could say the same around here...
