I'd like to point out that Old Man Yama said himself that Ukitake and Kyouraku were THE strongest captains (besides himself); and this is before he knew Aizen had betrayed them. So I think that means he think they can kick Aizens ass =D.

Though of course I'm sure the plots won't end up anything like that. Shame...

I don't know about Kyouraku, but Ukitake is indeed the most powerful taichou besides Yama-Jii-San. Kyouraku looks pretty strong with his skills though, but I think if Ukitake vs. Aizen, it's going to be a close battle!

yeah, the 3 strongest captains (by power and ability, not just stats, cuz they don't mean everything) are Ukitake, Shunsui and Unohana (not counting the 1st captain or Aizen obviously)

@Meihaquan just because Ukitake is sick DOESN'T mean he's weak. He's had the disease his wjole, over 2000 years, life so it's not his fault! I'd say ASzein, Yamamoto [unfortiantly, i hate him and his rules}, Shunsui and Ukitake are equal. then Unhohana but she never fights so theres no evidanse, then lastly possiably Ichigo.

kay my rants done, i just think that people shopuld say Ukitake's weak because of his illness. I sauy he's strong if he's been able to survive this long, 2000+.
