Water based pens are dyes which are transferred onto the paper with water and are water soluble (washable and non-permanent). If you add water to the dried inked drawing, the colour will bleed and run. Alcohol based pens are generally much more permanent and don't wash or bleed when you add water :3

Promarkers are alcohol based: they don't give the streaky appearance that water based pens do.

* GraceKrgn - Jag köpte mitt lösningsmedel/förtunnare i en vanlig konstnärsbutik, kommer inte ihåg vad den heter, men det finns många olika märken, t.ex. Färgrikets skonsamma förtunning. Det ska vara en som är luktfri också. Lycka till!
