i found these guys bout last year and found another band i should of listened to when i was in high school...but ......i enjoy it and will pass it along to other people totally 90's for sure i think everyone was daydreaming and jamming back then
from a production standpoint, this band succeeds in such effective spatialness(if that's a word) because of the de-emphasising of pick attack, in effect, subdueing(sp?) the onslaught of tear jerking shord changes mand monster flower riffage
I remember this made spring of ´92 very positively peculiar for me listening to it played on a twin headset walkman with a girl who´d previously introduced this music to me, already moving away from it, walking through the forests around a lake in central bohemia. trees just budding, remnants of snow, chilly air, that lovely hard&tender girl, no need to forget it
SOLITARYECC:the Daysleepers,Tears Run Rings,the Sky People,Pacific UV,Love Spirals Downwards,Malory,the Meeting Places,the Fauns,Luminous Orange,the High Violets...I could go on...
I must say that I've heard some new shoegaze, and none of it is as good as this, it absolutely does not hold a candle to the dreaminess. The High Violets? Nah.
Alisons Halo is an overlooked shoegaze band from the 90s that almost reached Slowdive-like dreaminess ,on a few songs like Torn and Leech, in my glorious opinion.
Most beautiful song

She told me that she loved me
Love, just for a day
And all the time I feel her
I feel her fade away

I love you Slowdive. This is what my soul sounds like: joyful yet melancholy.

Only one of many Slowdive's dreamy tracks. It would be awesome if another band with the same dreamy sound emerged.

Not as good. His music isn't consistently good. Some tracks are wonderful, others rubbish.
bizarreoutsider 3 years ago
Hmm, I've heard nothing on his new album that is rubbish. "Never be the same" is one of the most beautiful, ethereal pieces of music I've ever heard.

@cmarcallen, haha I just came here directly from Ulrich Schnauss - Look at Sky.
