  • I heard it isnt necessary to know French lenguage, in this case, they ONLY speak in french, anyone could explain me that?

  • @Nachoidess it's basic french at the beggining. anyway they learn you the french language. In 3 months you can speak correctly and understand almost everything, in 8 months you speak fluently

  • @ShortGrey1 You were in the Legion? I'm interesting in it, Im thinking about join it in the next year or so, If cant find another path... If so, could we talk more?

  • @Nachoidess No, I didn't but my cousin did. Yeah of course we can talk, he often told me what it was about

  • @Nachoidess You will be taught French once you join the legion, but you better catch on quick or it can get quite painful :) BTW, anything you will need to know about the legion can be found on their official website, google it

  • @Nachoidess Well, during the formation before the "march Képi Blanc", the recruits have to learn a minimal of 500 french words, of course with the technical and physical formation...you can see it later in the following parts, the instructors learn french to the foreign recruits with the help of french speaker recruits...in my opinion, they learn the basic of military vocabulary

  • i wass in aubagne last year and i failed the 3erd pshicotechnic test

  • lol good all diablo

    onavon onavon!

  • so you just show up at the door?

  • @chooksOGRV is 9 laps in 12 min!!!

  • does anybody know where the run test is taken? i heard that there is a differance between paris and marsseille. at one u run between two lines like a real coopertest, and at the other u run a distance from minimal 2850m under 12 minutes.

    Could somebody please answer????

  • @chooksOGRV I think it depends on which city you enlist in.

  • @chooksOGRV the test you see here is taken in Aubagne, near Marseille, the test you say between lines is Luc-Leger test, the cooper one is running 12'!!!

  • all except french ppl are treated as cannon fodder when it comes to tight spot in legion

  • Comment removed

  • Legio Patria Nostra

  • peccato non ci siano i sottotitoli

  • Do you have to pass the mathmatics... ? I'm not realy good at that ... ?? :)

  • Can anyone tell me the distance and time for the run. Thanks.

  • @stillwater82 I believe it's Cooper test.

  • the legion vs UK SAS

  • Niveau generale d'huitres xD

comment un etranger poura comprendre sa !

  • can anyone confirm that it's 2800m you have to run at that coopers test they were doing ?

  • I'm looking at the FFL for my future, but I'm still looking. I love French history (especially Napoleonic) and will begin self-teaching myself French, but I will have to visit France first and see for myself if I wish to live there or not (though I probably will :) ).

  • plz provide it with subtitle

  • but this video is not realistic about the legion. Because only shows the beginning of the life in the legion. I have seen another documentary, and I can say you that the peole there don't look happy.

they are people without projects in the life, they look very tired, many of them are alone, they waste much money in alcohol and girls...

think it good before to join

  • Ooo... polaka było słychać :D

  • Read more books)

  • Aubagne...Damn psycho-technic test, prepare for it because is not so easily, and if you fail it,you must wait 18 month for retry.

  • Cool series, cheers for upload. Check out my video.

  • ill be there in 40 days

  • 40 days huh?

  • yes sir 32 days now ... u joinin up anytime soon?

  • It seems that of the few vids I've seen of the legion at Aubagne most of the recruits seem to speak french pretty well. Or at least understand it pretty good. Are these vids decieving(?), or are most at a loss with the language?

  • about 75% can't speak fluent french.

This means anything from being able to align a few phrases to absolutely no knowledge whatsoever.

  • Actually not, over 80% do not. Among the remaining 20%, more than half of them only speak very rudimentary french. Overall I would say only 5% are fluent.

  • they speak french the whole time! what about if you dont speak french like i do, how you gonna understand??

  • They have translators and you will start learning french as soon as you're enlisted.

  • A l'ancienne! Rustique!

    Bien different des bobos actuels!

Vive le patriotisme! Vive la Republique! Vive la France!

  • @Cyrus420mindz Amen

  • Obviously U didn't go

  • i am there now. what do you want to know?

  • @sickvirus2 or your just under the level and they kick you out so your mad :(

  • still in! Stupid!!!

  • if youre under the level they wont even take you!! you have lots of testing before!!! you actually have to be smarter than averedge to get in.

  • smarter in which way? math or logic?

  • @Varcalox logic its not educationally based, basically common sense mate.

  • anyone join this sept from uk?

  • And you all should notice thats this is THE HARDEST ARMY IN OR ON THE WORLD!IF YOU ARE IN ONE TIME,YOU CANT GET OUT,IF YOU RUN AWAY YOU WILL GET INTO THE PRISON.

YOU WILL GET A LOT OF SNAPS AND CLAPS OR FIST`S IN YOUR FACE AND YOUR BODY,IF HE GOT SOME RINGS,YOU WILL CARRY THAT SCARES A LIFE LONG.

  • Are the tests in French?

  • I am in a situation that I want to join. I am too old for the US military but my biggest worry is that I will not learn French in time. I can speak Spanish. But it is very weak. Any Legionaires here on Youtube please direct me in what I need to do.

  • Why you dont Join the Spanish Foreign Legion? With your knownledgment in that language u got pretty good chances to make a good carrer in Spanish LF

  • dont worry about it. nobody speaks it whan they arrive. after 2 months you will understand some and after a year you can speak it.

  • Can a guy with glasess/contact lenses get in FFL?

  • yes, how bad is it btw

  • It's -2.50, so I can't function without glasses or lenses.

  • u should probz ring the legion but remebr my friend who went found out it wasnt as it was cracked up to be

  • Amazing!

  • great video....i wanna join the Legion one day....

  • Hey If I go AWOL from USAF and want to join will the FFL take me in?

  • 100% done deal

  • iamsatan.. 1) I doubt you are even in the USAF, because they don't hire traitorous shits like you. 2) If in the unlikely event you are in the USAF, take my advice at the get the fuck out of our country. You're not welcome in the U.S.. 3) I won't say anything bad about the French military, as they take enough shit around the world as it is, but I will point out that, without the U.S., France would have been overrun long ago. So the U.S. may not be perfect, but the French should stop talking shit.

  • no, because the french check everyone's backgrounds. why would they take the risk of recruiting someone who went awol from the air force. You wont hack it mate!

  • AWOL form the USAF ! now I can understand if you got kicked out that happens to guys quite frequently, but AWOL makes you a deserter you abandoned your comrades you are the lowest form of life on earth. People get thrown out of the service for all types of reasons but your a deserter AWOL ABSENT WITHOUT LEAVE. You abandoned your duty you didn't get kicked out big difference.

  • 2REP Rulez !

  • you cant be to skinny or to fat good tip depending on C.O of Garrison

  • So let us just assume that I earned enough sum of money to buy me a ticket to France, I've growned a good physique and an enduring body, and I went to France and join the French Foriegn Legion.... What are the things I need to bring? Clothes is obvious, what else???

  • You need a return ticket, passport, any qualifications youve got, a good pair of running shoes

  • ok, thanks, by "qualifications" you mean, a good strong and resilient body?

  • naww just take photocopies of educational certificates, or say youve done engineering courses that could help if you want to get into engineers or swimming certificates, things like that

good luck if youre going (Y)

  • Well I'm a college student and I'm not taking engineering courses I'm a I.T. student though, will that Help?

  • I would advise, a passport, some money, some cloths you don't mind not seeing again. Write important things in the pages of your passport (Try also to memorise your passport number, just incase) They will take everything off you, I wouldn't bother bringing your educational qualifications as they won't be up to army standard anyway, you will recieve all training. Bring shoes if you like, likely they'll be taken.

  • Petrut te astept frate. Succes!

  • jedva čekam ponovni odlazak

  • jest jest

  • ma odlicno je to je prava vojska

  • I'll say more: legioner must buy equipment also for his own money. It costs from 2 000 (usual regiments) to 4 000 euros (2 REP) per year.

  • Really? and what kind of equipment are you referring to? Ive heard that the equipment that is given to you is very unreliable in the field, and that consists of your sleeping bag and portable stoves and the like that work like crap, which you can choose to buy if you like.. don't tell me u have to buy your own night vision goggles from ebay...

  • I will not spread the idea of the glass, just say first that comes to mind: boots. As you probably know, such boots (so called rangers) like in Legion, private Ryan was dressed in these shoes. And high-quality sleeping bag, high-quality eye protection, high-quality backpack - all this costs money. Your own money.

  • sir you are a legionaire how to join to french legion and what is the qualification becuase im interested to join. im a filipino

  • You could read the oficial web-site of FFL. :) First of all, you should go to one of the recruitment centers in France. Be ready for tests: psychotechnics, physical, medical etc.

  • what is FFL SITE

    WHAT DO YOU MINE FFL

  • Kumusta po?

  • i wish the video had english subtitles

  • Can't agree with you more.

  • Does somebody know where we can find english subtitles?! thx

  • its cool to be one of them, but they pay so shit. 1000-2000€ is not a money.

  • don't do it for money then, besides they are soldiers, how much sparetime can they have to spend their money?

  • dude! Money is the only reason to do something like that,´but they dont pay well!. normaly legioner gets 850€- 1150€ per mounth. Than on weakends they have to buy food with own money!!!! civilian clothes, towels, soap, razors, and all things essential, thay buy with own money only. so how mutch u can save for ur future? nothing!!!!

  • And 100 $ in a month at the state metallurgical enterprise it is money?

Do not judge all on itself for whom that is an improbable opportunity to rise above that side which to it has put the government!

  • is french compulsory because i have noticed that a lot of guys are from non-french speaking countries

  • they teach you french when you join, but if you don't learn it fast enough they beat you around

  • all i understood was that one of them is a croat...

  • french,they speak in french

  • hi from which city is this video, because I want to join to Legion. Thx for help:)

  • usually they film this in Aubagne where there is the legion's headquarters.Aubagne is in the south of France not far away from Marseille

  • @fenik69 yes you have to pay for your own ticket to France, Paris or Marseille, you can also go to Korsika and join there but its easier to join in France, make sure you can run 5000 meters under 15 minuts and to 20 pullups hanging from ur arms and 20-50 pushups, you also need to learn french in a hurry, if you cant do this its no point to go, good luck.

  • ho nows somteing about the legion entrager pls send me a mesaj pls viva la legion viva la france

  • French with French subtitles? Why not English subtitles?

  • don't whine. it'll help u in learning some french IF u want to join because if ur watching at this video, more likely it'll be because your interested in the legion.

  • How can it help learn French when he/she (And myself) dosen't even know what the words mean.

  • will they let you in if you say you want to join for pleasure?

  • oui ce ne pas un problem! if the interpol isnt looking for u ur ok !! when i graduate im planning to serve

  • thats nice. good luck. you will need it

  • Do you want to live in EU?

  • not really.. just for my love to france!

  • Ok thanks. So that would be 2850 meters under 12 minutes?

  • can someone tell me please how far you have to jog in 12 minutes?

    Was it 2000 meters ??

  • 2.85kms

  • Its just under a mile. It usually takes a pyhsically fit person around 9 mins.

  • He said min. 2700 metres, if i heard well, besides now they have different one, beep test.

  • Are the test in French or English? Or both.

  • im pretty sure tests are in English too

  • This was I think their first day of indoctrination before training?
