i have a dyno sheet that says 272hp and 290tq. But since this video... the car has gotten a new motor, tranny, clutch, and flywheel.

actually the dyno my car was on is a "heartbreaker" dyno. Stock STi's would put down about 200awhp on it. Back then i was beating 350whp SRT4's from rolls. And i dont have issues with with running V8's that have a little spray or boost. Got a built motor and tranny :)

How can the '08 be a failure but the '09 is the best? It's got a stiffer suspension and bigger turbo but other than that the entire chassis is the same. Granted, those mods make it a lot better but I don't think it's enough to call one a failure and the other the best.

well that makes a big difference, don't foget the body kits as well, cuz 08 version looked aweful ( in my opinion), but 09 has the sti body kits, nice rims, cool seats, with wrx logo... so power isn't just that matters !!

Wow... The body kits are the same ones that came on the '08 "premium" models except now they are standard. And the wheels are the same just with a darker finish. The seats are exactly the same except they have red stitching and a "WRX" logo.

The '09 is the same car as the '08 but with some nicer bolt ons. That hardly makes the '08 a failure.

it's not an STi, just a WRX. It's got a new FP Green and a bunch of bolt ons. haven't taken it to the track since the new clutch and lightweight flywheel have been installed. It's running open downpipe now too.

the 08 is not stock and the 07 is the 07 would beat the 08 by about 5 tenths of a second

Look at the facts. The 08's peak horsepower is only down about 5 horses, but the horsepower peaks about 400 rpm lower, and peak torque arrives at around 800rpm lower. Combine that with a lighter overall package (about 50-90lbs depending on equipment, remember 100lbs is about equal to a tenth of a second on the quarter) and you're left with roughly equal cars, if not a slight edge to the 08. Now an 09 is a completely different story, and walks over all previous WRX's.
