I thought Yoko was kind of useless unless I was playing against a fire-based boss so I could use the ice spell, and Julius is only good for his holy-element attacks later on. Alucard attacks quickly, his attacks have decent range and strange, and he's a bit faster than Yoko. Plus he makes up the inability to slide on the ground with his bat ability.

they fight before Soma enters the chaos realm. Julius ignores Soma's claim that while he IS the reincarnation of Dracula he isnt evil, and they duke it out. Soma defeats him, fed up with the fight, and tells Julius that he could tell the vampire hunter was holding back on purpose. He wasnt fighting with all he had.

Julius mentons that while he sensed Dracula's evil within Soma, he also sensed Soma's soul fighting it back, resisting the evil within himself. so they part ways there until DoS.

Well, as I can read, Julius could have perfectly defeated Soma but he didn`t fight with his all power because he realized that Soma`s soul was fighting against Dracula`s evil soul, as you said. To sum up, Soma defeated Julius not because he was more powerful than the last Belmont, but due the later one didn`t use his full power.

yeah. BOTH his character entries from Aria and Dawn of Sorrow describe Julius as "The strongest Belmont". and as the Belmont with the fairly high honor of being the one who finally killed Dracula in 1999,  its obvious that hes quite a force to be reckoned with.

In any case, (since I couldnt fit it int the last post) Soma asks Julius to make him a promise: That if he succumbs to Dracula's evil and becomes the new Dark lord, he wants Julius to stop him. Julius of course agrees.

It has to be perfect, hence why I think its not released yet...think about it...it tells the story of Dracula's final battle. If/When they release it I'm convinced it will be the final Castlevania game released in IGA's cannon
