Austrian guy, watching TV... then, by coincidence, changed to the channel with this movie... and listened to that great piano...ordered the score immediately.

In my life, I never lost a relative in war, and hopefully never will. But watching this movie, and even more listening to this score and this so deeply touching song, I maybe do a little bit understand how it might feel to have such a loss.

I've just seen the film and realised how emotionally inflicted simple people are by all those stupid wars.Yes,Grace is gone since it never really existed in the brains of the administrations.They are not the ones to be shattered in battlefields.The film should make perfectly clear the devastation unfolding.

Saw Jamie in Oxford, UK & Gent, Belgium. Last one in July 2009. Amazing performer. Rock, jazz, pop & soulful ballads like this. Put aside any 'jazz' preconceptions & go & see him. The guy's just awesome! Sweet film this too.

I never thought I'd still be touched by "Grace Is Gone". Still sobbing when I think about the beach-scene at the end. (BTW, I think that mr. Cusack is so underrated). I Was so dissapointed when I couldn't find this song on the soundtrack. And wonder where I could get it. Until I stumbled at this site. So, THANK YOU SO MUCH for posting !!! ***hug***

the movie at times seems John Cusack character is out of touch with normal reactions. But people are not clones so the possibility exist. The soundtrack sets a very tearful set of scenes and actually moves emotions to full capacity. Don't watch this movie if you want to be in a joyous mood after. The young girls are just great in bringing off this story without getting it into over melodramatic. The soundtrack is superb.
