Im not a wing-nut at this point I am unaffiliated conservatives are no more free market than liberals and free market is what i stand for.
You have a point I wont attack you like that again I do want to debate this issue.
The VA? I was in the military and I will say that if the VA is what we have to look forward to than we are all doomed. I can give you horror story after horror story about the VA from people who I know.
that if the VAs what we have to look forward to than we are all doomed.
you are justifying their illegal actions by their other illegal actions. you are insane I hope one of them uses your SSN some day. as far as caring for your neighbor would you be willing to give up all you work for but what you need to survive until every starving face on the planet has been feed? If so than how can you afford a computer? If not then who are you to talk? get over your self charity is not a function of government!
The truth that many people don't realize is that the Japanese Health care is on the verge of collapse. Doctors are getting underpaid, hospitals are losing a lot of money. Many hospitals are shutting down their ER.
arby their health care system has nothing to do with it on the verge of collapse (Even though I havent heard anything about it) they have been in an economic decline since 1990, they grew way to fast. It has been on such a decline that japan, just last week, voted in its first PROGRESSIVE president since WWII. (there was one other time in the mid 90s, but it fell apart in months) But, bottom line its not national health care that is bankrupting their hospitals.
How could hospitals be in decline if there are great demand for it than ever before. Their population is getting order which will increase medical spending.
First of all, IT IS their health care systems bankrupting many hospitals because the gov't controls the doctor's fees. An average Japanese doctor makes about $120,000/year, working 70 hours/week. A nurse can make that much money in America.(not to mention it's more expensive to live in Japan) Closing down of ERs are only the beggining.
Redicedragon obviously is commenting on this video based on nothing but his ideology. The world is full of countries with successful and thriving public health care. If an argument is based on blaming the poor and immigrants while claiming people's problems are based on laziness, the author is uninformed and an idealogue.
Japan is a special case. the Japanese people are very productive and take very good care of them selves as a whole and i have a lot of respect for them. However japan is on an island that makes it very hard for people to get to it. Japan dose not have the immigration problems that the rest of the world has from pore countries. in every other situation public health care is failing. It is great for people that just want to have babies and mooch of society but hurts honest working people.
Japan is not a special case. Every other industrial country in the world has some type of Universal Health Care and ALL of them spend substantially less than America spends and yet they manage to cover all of their people. If other countries are 'failing', as you assert, then America must be failing spectacularly as we pay far more for inferior results.
Honest working people are not hurt by Universal Healthcare systems, unless you think guaranteed healthcare 'hurts' them.
first off yes they are. making doctors government employees will hurt this system.
second off I have lived in japan and they do not smoke as much as we do in the US. also they do not have the weight problem that we have. as well they take very good care of them selves they stay out of the sun with protection exercise regularly work 6 day a week and if they don't work they don't get government
handouts. japan is a weak example for your argument. with illegals if they were taxed and payed for there own health care there would be no issue with me. I should no more have to pay for someone else's health care than you should have to pay for my food. if you don't like that try to immigrate over to japan. for some reason its harder to get there than it is for Mexicans to get here.
and again, How will doctors being government employees hurt the system? If your talking about them being paid less or not getting paid, that myth has been debunked. However, insurance companies have yet to pay several hospitals in New Mexico.....you should look it up.
I am done with this debate but if you want to know my views and solutions that i would propose for the the healthcare problem other than socialized health care I will post it on my home page by the end of this weekend. I will address any comments from there.
Just to make clear as well I do not suport the rep or dem party I think they are both F*ed up beond repair. my views are my own and bassed on the Idea of a true free market when government only does the dutyes that it was intended to do.
Japan has plenty of immigrants from poor countries (including people here illegally). If you want immigrants to pay for healthcare, then you should have a guest worker program that taxes them like they're taxed in other countries.
The Japanese people have also been eating more 'American' food (McDonald's, etc.) and they smoke a lot and yet they still have managed to surpass the life expectancy of Americans. That would mean it's more successful by definition than the US system, imo.
Would love to see your stats and figures on how immigration is hurting wealthy countires like Sweden, France, Finland, etc......and all blow America's healthcare system out of the water. You seem to have based your opinion on baseless statements made against healthcare. I will call your claims lies unitl you prove your statement.
I am sick of repeating this statement so this will be the last time I will. call that a victory it you will i don't care.
Immigration is not a problem at all.
ILLIGAL Immigration is a problem. It undermines our whole legal system and yet they are allowed certain benefits that should be reserved for tax payers.
Sir, I had no idea you were talking about illegal immigration, however, your right National healthcare can work in countires that have good tax paying citizens. I dont know why you cant believe a report by the health dept, saying we are dead last in healthcare among civilized nations, yet you believe an American report that says otherwise?
I realized that i didn't mention illegal immigration in this post sorry. the report I think your talking about is from the who people 2000 census? Well it makes seines our country losses most its rating on economics. But even if I'm wrong how will charging tax paying and putting health care in the hands of the government that has failed at every program that they have tried to implement a good thing.?especially when none of the free market solutions have even been attempted?
The bottom line is; it all depends on the type of community, and the region of Japan you live in, as well as the accessibility of which hospital you go to depending on the location.
of patients who are not seriously ill. Therefore, the hospital within that community would less likely be inundated with patients, thereby reducing the wait time in order to see a specialist.
On the other hand, a bigger community like Tokyo or Osaka that does have a higher rate of patients who have life threatening illnesse's, means that their hospitals would very likely be inundated to their capacity. Therefore, it increases the wait times for others with serious illnesse's.
I also lived in Japan myself for a brief time. I was quite impressed with Japans health care system.
Though, I do not dispute the lady's story, I will say that just because she had no problems accessing quality care in her location, it does not necessarily mean that its entirely the same everyone else in Japan.
In other words, it really all depends on what type of region and community you live in.
There are some communities in Japan where they do not have a high rate
So it cost you 15$, how much did it cost the tax payers of Japan?

There's no such thing as a perfect healthcare system. With that being said, as a resident in rural Japan, I'm very satisfied with what they offer.
rivetgunner 2 years ago
It's hardly ever a problem to see a general practitioner it's when you need to see a specialist when you have to wait weeks or months.
