  • Good Times.

  • This version is so good I want the remastered CD - NOW.

  • Thanks for posting this, 1st time hearing this extended version, very cool .

  • feels like good rock n roll!

  • Great job, nice rare photos I had not seen before. Can't get enough of these guys, the truest Legend of a Band still out there, no doubt.

  • I want this video on my V75 unit.

  • @yronwyatt49b I tried to change the settings so you could do that, but it's not working right now. YT sucks, sorry!

  • Nuce xfer!

  • KICK-ASS version !! EXCELLENT MIX !!

  • Is it me or does the original sound more Prog-Rock than the other version?

  • fantabulous! i have loved the moodies since ride my see saw

  • Wonderful song and the video is excellent! Thanks!

  • Great post, thank you! Nice juxtaposition to what's on the album, more reverb on the voices and more mellotron/keyboards on this version. Is that John playing 12 string at 1:23?

  • @1999wharfrat Yes that's him :)

  • @1999wharfrat Probably not. Back then The Moodies did a ton of multi tracking, so it's probably Justin playing both lead and rythm 12 string.

  • @1999wharfrat OOPs...I stand corrected...I thought u meant in the audio track!

  • Loved the old photos...one of the great bands in the history of Rock 'n Roll

  • You did a great job putting this video together! It brought tears to my eyes.I'm glad I grew up listening to them Thanks!

  • @MsBoomer1954 You're very welcome :) I'm also glad I was around when these beautiful songs came out!

  • excellent video

  • This is actually the only version I hear get played on the radio. I slightly like the other one a tad better but coming from the Moodies it has got to be Golden.

  • I had forgotten how much I LOVE the Moody Blues. All their albums were great. Thanks for posting this.

  • Fantastic version and pics!

  • LOVE IT!!!!

  • ok so i'm dying to know what the photo is from at 2:43. Is that an album cover a publicity photo what??

  • @moodybluesgurl Sorry, I wish I could remember where I got it. I'm pretty sure it was a German publicity photo....as it was imprinted 'Juli 1970' at the bottom.

  • @bze2nlz4 aren't those the costumes they wore in the Knight in White Satin video ? the ones @ 2:43 I mean, Isle of Wright

  • @windstruckladyc They wore similar outfits in the 'first official video' of Nights In White Satin that was filmed in Paris, 1967. They didn't wear costumes for the Isle of Wight concert, 1970. To my knowledge, they've never performed in 1700's attire like in the photo :)

  • @moodybluesgurl their holding coca colas LOL

  • @wildwindsca Good catch, and thank you! Someone was wondering where this picture came from and I couldn't remember where I got it. Tracked it down...it was a Coca-Cola ad from a Dutch magazine :)

  • @moodybluesgurl Someone else noticed the Coke bottles and then I was able to track down the picture...it is a Coca-Cola ad from a Dutch magazine, probably around '67-'68. They also recorded a radio commercial for Coke around that time...it is here on YT :)

  • @bze2nlz4 Yep - That was when all 5 were there - i.e. including Pinder. I had forgotten this pic. Heh :-)

  • great song, great pics, john and justin look more like guys in a late 1970's-1980's time to me...great pics of a great band...still together!

  • 1 person doesn't like the pitch.

  • @willmanenterprises YEAH, BUT... 242 DO ! SHADDUP !!

  • Thanks for the trip back to my youth. Always listened to music and a bands sound. The Moody Blues made me listen to the words. Was young in the ARMY and stoned as much as possible. Moody Blues brought me through it. Thanks again

  • the most underrated guitarist in rock history. you rock mr justin hayward!Great band!

  • This is a great version of an awsome song! One of my all time favs.

  • Probably the most underrated vocalist in rock history.

  • @savannah388 Agree. I've always thought Justin Hayward had a great voice: unique, British-sounding, and strong. I saw them in 2001 & he sounded so good & he still does considering his age. Not only that, so many of their songs are arranged so well. Almost everybody in the band could sing.

Many of their songs have an epic feel. I grew up w/ the On A Threshold Of A Dream album when I was very young (parents had it) & thought it the greatest thing. Even then I was impressed with Justin's vocals!

  • Yes a big time rememberance of the Moody Blues from the early 70's. Also I noticed that Graeme Edge in the one photo, looked very much like the Captain Morgan in the rum commercials, check it out.

  • The Moody Blues, Mike Pinder, Graeme Edge, Justin Hayward, John Lodge and Ray Thomas, they are deserving of being in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, amen.

  • @Zippertheslipper I agree with you 100%!!! why thye are not in there I don't know.the ones who vote must be on drugs!!!

  • @Zippertheslipper - Agreed. I can't for the life of me figure out why they aren't. Has to be political or something along those lines. Or maybe they just didn't fit into Jann Wenner's "club of elitist snobs" Don't know, but if I were The Moody Blues, I'd tell them to stick it.

  • i used to have quite an emotional response to this song as a child and young adult, then i kind of forgot about this tune but AGAIN thanks to youtube and the zillions of caring music fans its back on my playlist : )

  • I saw the Moodys at their first ever Australian show in Melbourne - way back in 1984. This is a great version of one of their best songs. Thanks.

  • Absolutely incredible!!

  • Excellent and I do mean excellent video..music and pictures...spot on!!! Great job!!!

  • @57babyboomer Thanks for visiting and for your nice comment! :)

  • Much more intense than the previously released version. What a gem

  • Great song. Thanks for uploading it.

  • Cool lots of effects on his voice

  • Brilliant

  • A true contribution! Thanks man.

  • Enjoyed all the vintage photos that went along with this video! Love the melody of this song, best played very loudly!!

  • I am truly frightened for our children.

  • @cloudjia

Tell me about it. Justin is beautiful from head to foot & just as much inside as out. From what I understand he is tall & lean and humbly not in the least aware of his good looks (per/ one of their concert promoters who had the opp. to meet & speak w/ Justin).

  • its a shame this band is known mostly for nights in white satin . they are one of the best progressive/symphonic rock bands in the history .

  • the song that was on the album is a much stronger rendition .... like both! .... thanks for sharing anything new from the "moody blues" !!

  • Fabulous, my favorite Moody Blues song. I like this version even better than the released one. Great photo montage too. Big thumbs up!!!

  • I absolutely LOVE this remastered version It sounds great!!!!!!

  • Fantastic! Thank you for sharing this. I hadn't heard this version and agree with the masses that it sounds great. Such a tight band. They sound as good live as they do in the studio and we all know that isn't easy to do. Bravo! Encore Encore!

  • @Driver8852 You are welcome! The Moodies were always a unique group and no other band could come close to duplicating their brilliant music :)

  • @Driver8852

You are so right! I saw them last night live and they sound as good as they did 40+ years ago. Justin's voice just keeps getting better and better with age!

  • This is a great take; its weird to hear it at first (its a little slower than the used take =P ), but its far, far better. ^^

  • I like this version better than the commercial version. Justin had a lot more passion in his voice here. BTW who said the opening comment? Was that John or Ray?

  • @WDLawless

    It sounds like Ray.

  • Never heard this before, thought the heavier version was it.

  • Thanks Chris awesome pics and great version of Story in Your Eyes.

Is it me? Or could Justin have promoted a shampoo product

line with his great hair lol! Still has the hair!!!!!! :) and looks :)

    Love these guys :)

  • @iediah Thanks! No, it's not just you! Check out 'The Other Side of Life' rare clip I have here. Justin's hair is almost TOO perfect :P They all look so good :)

  • excellent thankyou for sharing, added to my favourites.

  • Thanks Chris--great song...great band. I saw them in concert about three times, they have a great show.

  • Thanks Chris for sharing this great song and video! Ron

  • Excellent choice!!! I always loved their mystical sound!!! Great job on the video too...

    Thank you Chris.

  • Really an amazing version of the song! Great photos too!

  • Such a classic song, interesting to hear the different vocal take, it's a bit slower too. Thank you for this.
