  • My Burst News For Toxis. Real New - Condition On It ( CBS ) On This News Video. Nucler Waster. ( More )

  • You hear about the madness that has befallen Louisiana, first Katrina and now the BP oil spill, but what about Tennessee??!!!

  • I live right here. We have our corrupt officials to comfort us and tell us it's all A-OK. As long as those people are rich and happy, we are all OK. ALL the creeks in knoxville run grey with polluted waters. Way Way before this spill happened. We are so polluted u would shit ur pants if you knew what oak ridge and our corrupt officials have done here. Cancer all over the place here. Thank God we have corruption to protect us.......

  • i can't believe how little coverage this is recieving. I suppose its partly due to economy but seriously, the government can waste billions on AIG but can't help us with this shit? And TVA is trying find a legal loophole until those effected don't have any rights! If this stuff doesn't get sorted out then this country doesn't deserve to continue to exist. I live a few miles downstream of this and have heard very little about this. This just goes to show how great a job TVA is doing to save face.

  • I'm sorry, did she say "potentially toxic?" Half a billion? It was more like a billion point 1. CBS news is watering down this story. Why do I have a hard time believing TVS spokespersons and public officials about how well the contamination is being contained or why fish seem to be dying!?

  • @DoJapan it isnt toxic. i work there started the day it happend nobody has died of it. there isnt anything even remotly toxic it was just ash not nucler waste

  • Fish were stranded then they died then thier corpses jumped back into the water.

Am I the only one having trouble swallowing that?

  • Yeah, seriously. What a crock of shit!

  • "Fish were likely stranded and not poisoned" ... Um, why have they neg neglected to mention the fact that when people have drunk from the water, they vomit for up to 12 hours later? There are all sorts of dangerous heavy metals in that water. The fact that the TVA is brushing the matter aside and saying the water is safe is terrible.

  • Coal Industry Spokesperson says, "Those fish were dead when the sludge got there!"

    In related news:

Tainted slurpee machines in the wake of the sludge have been relabeled "Slurries"; still operational. ;-D

Also, the fabled hundred acre wood was buried beneath the sludge. A marred and permanently blinded Christopher Robin was pulled from his shelter inside of a honey tree, the body of winnie the pooh has not been recovered.

  • It's just the Coal Industry's way of taking another giant shit on yet another small town in America. Good Luck to ya trying to get help with this and Merry Christmas.

  • This should become a superfund site.

  • Like the other dozens of superfund sites that the government doesn't have the funds to clean up. Americans should just give up, drink the toxic sludge, and die for having no intuition, no independent thought, and not knowing their own heads from their asses.
