  • This is a very "next" video. =p

  • Puts Skyrim to shame - Morrowind is true Elder Scrolls, not an RPG lite combat sim. Consoleised and mainstreamed....

  • OMG! Odd responses for this video again.

  • Does this cause any bugs or glitches? Can someone who has downloaded this please tell me?

  • @BOBSAGETSUCKS101 try this

    morrowindoverhaul[dot]rpgitalia[dot]net

  • How is it INFINITE when you get constant pop-ups?

  • Comment removed

  • this game still looks good.

  • I have MGE but I still see that annoying fog a few feet ahead, how can I get rid of it? :S

  • @purecoasters sadly there is.

But we will not fall to Temptation!

As the programers made the game beautiful and very spontaneous. So it would be more fun just to walk :D

  • @lagging199527 I'm not really a PC gamer... Excuse me for being a massive n00b but are there a lot of system requirements if so can u suggest a computer it would run well on? Sorry again for being a n00b...

  • @IRLSM1337ful A 90$ video card vs a 300$ xbox 360 (The latter having WORSE graphics to begin with), I would personally choose the first choice. It also has the benefits of everything else the pc has over the xbox (Which are MANY, MANY things)

" there a lot of system requirements " Morrowind system requirements are low as fuck[unmodded]...

  • @IRLSM1337ful Dude, a $15 graphics card with a 10 year old cpu can run Morrowind. A modern cheap laptop for school could probably run this at near max settings.

  • @Zacccc51 my pentium 3 could play it!

  • I have morrowind for xbox so i cant mod...

  • @IRLSM1337ful Get in on Pc its like 10$.

  • This just squeezed a little more awesome-ness into the world's greatest game to date.

  • This music along with the video made me tear up. brings back good memories lol

  • The game now looks much more majestic and grand.

  • It makes Morrowind look so much better.

  • awsome going to reinstall it now.

  • @LWStupidus lets hope there is no fast travel in skyrim. Its too tempting to use but it just ruins the fun of trvelling.

  • @PureCoasters There's carriages to get around to major cities with quickly when you RP.

  • @PureCoasters There'll be a mod for that within the first week of release. Provided you're using the PC version, of course...

  • @PureCoasters true but considering the painfully slow rate of which you sprint and the extremely fast stamina drain not to mention the epic size of the map yeah it is kinda hard to get around for some people in morrowind

  • Is morrowind bigger than cyrodill? Cuz it looks huge!

  • @PureCoasters Yes, Morrowind is massive especially since you can't 'fast travel' as easily.

  • I got this and put it on max settings and it looks noticeably better than this. I don't mean the 480p, i mean the draw distance is WAY farther and i can see creatures, monsters, ect a LONG way off.

Very Awesome. Makes the game even more fun.

  • @The4LA2Baker0

As you can see, this video was uploaded 5 years ago. The program was in its infancy and we made this video simply as a way to introduce it to the general public. The program has been greatly improved in the past 5 years.

  • @kain0067 I wasn't trying to be degrading, quite the contrary. I was expressing(not so effectively maybe) my amazement with how well this program works. Even better than this video shows. I didn't know it was being constantly updated. Thanks for the info, and all your hard work. I really appreciate what you fine individuals have accomplished.

  • I Miss morrowind.

  • Damn! Morrowind was such an epic game! I think I never enjoyed a game as much as I enjoyed Morrowind! I hope Skyrim will be compareable to this...

  • @MooseOnATombstone It won't... They gutted everything pretty much that made the franchise great in the name of "good combat..." Sigh... Listen to the interview with GI if you want to be depressed.

  • @MooseOnATombstone Dragons and shouts will do the work :)

  • nice vid... morrowind still kick ass!

  • 3:45 should have been the title of the game. wow, it would have been great :)

  • Why would someone bitch about the graphics in Morrowind being bad. Ugh well no shit it's 9 fucking years old! However a decade ago it was cutting edge. Morrowind could look like mangled shit and it wouldn't matter because it will always be one of the greatest acomplishments in game development period.

  • It's sort of ironic that the video name is "infinite view, extended edition"

  • THEY JUST RELEASED A GRAPHICS MOD THAT MAKE THE GAME FUCKING AWESOME...

CHECK OUT GAMESPY OR GOOGLE IT TO DL THE MOD!

  • @brianmaitland

In theory, that SHOULD be right. But Oblivion was basically generic in every area; at least Morrowind had an original bit(i.e. the ashlands). And, from a lore perspective, Vvardenfell was supposed to be dominated by the ash wastes. Also, you missed the entire bitter coast region, which was a swamp.

  • @jarlfrank Technically, the "Pocket guide to the Empire" was a few hundred years out of date at the time of Oblivion; by the time of the Oblivion Crisis, the Eight Islands had simply been built over. This doesn't excuse the fact that in terms of both area and population the Imperial City was smaller than Vivec, and certainly held less value per capita than would be expected, but it's reasonable to assume things change after centuries.

  • This was made with a pretty old version of MGE, the newer releases look MUCH better, in many ways. So if you think this looks good, get the latest beta revision and be amazed ;)

  • Pretty good mod, and a -very- good presentation!

  • : |

I only get 15-30 FPS when running MGE. . . And my computer isn't even that old. . .

  • Beautiful.

  • they should continue with this game and make it even better

  • You spelled vardanfall wrong!

  • @CurtisWhoPlaysGames lol actually Vvardenfell was spelled right

  • Morrowind > OBLIVION was fail...

  • When I see or hear about Morrowind it will:

    return my self to childhood

    return me to dream

ahh it was and still be great game!

I remember when I was a kid and play it 10-15 hours/day, ahh I miss this times :'( nostalgia for good old times... ehh MORROWIND I MISS YOU. But we still W8 for S K Y R I M [11.11.11] AMAZING!

  • OH MAH GAWD I think I'm going to have to play this again.

  • Looks awesome. Cant wait to get my computer fixed and get off this GotY edition xbox Morrowind (though how i love it ^^). I'm craving mods!!!!!

  • is there some kind of mod that makes the attacking system more like oblivion. i didn't like that there was a percentage to whether you hit your target.

  • @rmhism yeah like the bow and arrow... i swear i fired like 15 arrows into a mudcrab at the beginning and didn't even scratch him...

  • where is that castle at 3:18?

  • @cptping1234567 I think it's Tel Vos.

  • SKYRIM!!!

  • its such a shame the xbox version didnt have farview instead you could only see like 30 feet ahead of you

  • i want this modification or whatever it is haha

  • damn, i wish they at least put that in the xbox version :(

  • The instructions in your link are fucking terrible.

You figure they would have made an .exe to do all this retarded babel for you.

  • @pooprulezearth yeah the instructions are a bit annoying. the main thing is to get the latest beta version of mge, and not the.. normal version. I couldn't get the draw distance to work without the beta version

  • The best game in the series after Daggerfall!

  • I think the fogginess in Morrowind added to the game's overall feel. It made the setting feel mysterious. God I wish I had a decent computer so I could play all my old games again...

  • Great Mod, but too many crashes at my PC.

  • haha i remember not being able to see across a 5 meter distance on a sunny day

  • Morrowind was the first game in my life where I saw such beautiful water design! When I saw how water looks like, I dropped my jaws to the floor and still haven't closed them today... ;)

  • @borisjakovljevic SO morrowind has permentantlly deformed you with its awsome?

  • @imnotparanoid68

Indeed... can't even eat properly anymore :)))

  • this is awesome

  • Brings back memories...

  • morrowind gamplay is ten times better than oclivion and morrowind with oblicvions graphics kicks ass

  • oh man whats going on with the ~20fps outside

  • @100grapes Oh idk. maybe the whole world being rendered?

  • This Island is so damn Beautiful. I <3 Morrowind

  • I hate to say that the music is the most impressive part of this video... This many years later and the music is still some of the best ever in a game. Then they had to bring the Oblivion theme into it... Come on... It's good, but Morrowind was my first truly EPIC game soundtrack. Let's get back into that.

  • The graphics suck now, but 7 years ago i was like, "Daymmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!!!!"

  • @Vantir For me, I don't look at "Suck", I still feel that nostalgia of being a little kid playing this for hours.

  • @KenshiNewgrounds Yes, I still haven't found a game that I like as much as Morrowind. Maybe when I get a new computer I'll give mass effect a chance.

  • @Vantir Yeah, graphics don't matter for anything. Morrowind is a testament to that. :)

  • @Vantir mass effect doesn't offer any freedom. it tricks you into thinking you're playing an rpg but it's so scripted and on-rails

  • @zoomerzrewl If you don't like Mass Effect, that's fine, but calling it "not an RPG" is ridiculous hyperbole.

  • @Vantir

Mass Effect sucks man. It's no match to Elder Scroll's any game.

  • @Vantir I remember thinking "My computer will NEVER be good enough to run Morrowind!"

  • oh the memories ii share with this game! [has a tear in eye]

  • Makes it look a lot more like oblivion

  • very nice mod....congrats :)

  • how u do dat

  • Graphics do suck and morrowind and it's a bit hard to get by. But spend half an hours getting the better bodies/faces/clothing mod and it fixes that problem nice and quick.

  • Some thing was better in oblivion like gameplay and physics, arrow retrivial, voice acting(I know, only 2 for each race, but at least it was there) and more. but unfortunately some things were lost, like the originality, and most importantly, the immersion...

  • @plainlake dude u read my mind

  • Man, I know I'v eheard that Oblivion has a bigger map, but it just doesn't FEEL like a bigger map, y'know? Vvardenfell just FEELS like a lot BIGGER a world than Cyrodill! And that SAYS something about the game's immersiveness compared to Oblivion, I think!

  • @MMRED

    No, Vvardenfell is bigger.

  • @MMRED yeh because you hve to alk up and down the same old path wasting ur life by takin a 16 mile trek on a game

  • I didn't really like this mod.

It makes the world in Morrowind look smaller and less mysterious...

  • this game is my all time favorite

  • omg

    wonderful

    bethesda knows something!

  • Morrowind is the best area to ever explore you never know what you will find. It is a game that you can play 20 times and not see everything this game has

  • it is morrowind graphics distance 3.8.0

    i got it too :D

  • This is amazing! While there is still some minor pop up, this is infinitely better than the constant Fog of War seen in the vanilla game.

ps. How does this video get 26 dislikes? "Wah, I don't like improved graphics!! I'm a wittle poo-baby!! I were di-pahs!!" What a bunch of shit-heads.

  • i got to say that even though when i was 13 years old i used to play this games for 6 hours every day for almost half a year i still hadnt seen about 1/3 of the whole map

  • lol every guard that I saw in Morrowind walks like a douchebag xD

  • Лагает слегка...

  • Such variety in the landscapes. Oblivion needed to be more like this.

  • @MrMalthus80 Let's all pray that The Elderscrolls V will be better..

  • @stygn srry sir but Bethesda's put Elderscrolls on the back burner for the moment. They're making their money on Fallout and have little intention of returning to Elderscrolls until they've milked Fallout for all it's worth.

  • @Stiggandr1 heh. es5 skyrim was announced yesterday as you probably already know. and is coming out next year. but, great insight there.

  • Comment removed

  • @MrMalthus80

nah, leave that to morrowind ;) It wouldn't be lore friendly - besides, Oblivion has enough.

It's a great game, but like someone said "Oblivion is a playground, Morrowind is home" ;)

  • @MrMalthus80 In the Pocket Guide to the Empire that came with Redguard, Cyrodiil was described to be a jungle, and the Imperial City was supposed to have lots of canals. Oblivion could've been a jungle with Romans living in a Venice-like city. It would've been awesome. What we've got instead was a generic pseudo-"medieval" fantasy land which was completely contradictory to the lore of the previous games. A shame, really.

  • @JarlFrank It is a damn shame. I read the pocket guide. So much possibility. Lets hope they redeem themselves with skyrim.

  • @JarlFrank Actually, Cyrodiil USED to be all swampland, this being described when the Ayleids still ruled it, the swamplands were apparently drained by either the Ayleids or the Cyrodiils. The all swamp was either A: Retconned lore, or B: What i just described. Probably both. It actually fits with the Roman Empire as the Romans drained many swamps to make for agriculture.

  • @JarlFrank the imperial city has lots of canals and cyrodiil jungles .-.

  • @JarlFrank Worst part was, the generic forest theme was already covered by a province (High Rock). Why not just remake that if you wanted it so bad? Every province was supposed to be unique different. :(

  • @JarlFrank The worst part is, Oblivion was my introduction to the series--I can't UNlearn that image.

  • @MrMalthus80 lol so true, Oblivion was too much forest and trees, only a little swamp and mountain areas. Dwemer (Dwarven) Ruins own in this game compared to the Ayleid (Elven) ruins of oblivion. Still, both games are awesome in my opinion.

  • @MrMalthus80 Oblivion had more variety than morrowind. Cyrodiil had The grassy mountains, the snowy Mountains, The Marshlands, The Forests and the western plains. Vvardenfell just had the grassy parts, the islands and the ashlands

  • @Brianmaitland

Dude, them grasslands consisted 99.9% of Oblivion. Morrowind had one island dedicated to the alpine ecosystem, and it wasn't generic scandanavian bullshit.

  • @MirageBistro Wait what? Can you reword that?

  • @Brianmaitland

    Troll, please!

  • The Morrowind menu song is beyond epic, and Oblivion sucks.

  • I love morrowind! I hate ppl who are like- oh the graphics suck! Who cares?! GRAPHICS DON'T DEFINE A GAME! ITS THE PLAYABILITY! And for playability, morrowind has INFINITE possibilities

  • @Gir77661

What put's most people off is the combat and the game being really buggy in general.

  • @Gir77661 Daggerfall has more!

But all of The Elder Scrolls games are good :D

  • @Gir77661 Yes, the game is ten times better than Consoblivion

  • @Gir77661 I just hate it how people look liek they have shit in there pants when they walk/run

  • @weezerjr955

There are MODS to remedy that. Check planetelderscrolls.

  • @MirageBistro i dont own the game lol. I played it at a friends house for 3 hours and couldnt figured out what to do. i think ima buy it,

  • @Gir77661 I love Morrowind too, but imagine if it kept everything except for improved graphics and animations. It would be even better.

  • @Gir77661 Plus there are mods to make the graphics better anyway.

  • @Gir77661 you know if people dont like the graphics they can use mge or if they like oblivion graphics and gameplay but want more adventures and things like that all they have to do is download morroblivion mod simple as that

  • @jagger1865

Morroblivion isn't finished et though. It's got the map, but not the people or the quests or things like that Otherwise, Morroblivion would be AWESOME! (Well, MORE awesome, anyway)

  • @Gir77661 Your confusing graphics with realism. morrowind has amazing graphics, Not life like - no. But thats a whole different dish. shitty graphics could be as detailed and high rez as anything but if the colors and shapes dont paint an atmosphere it'll look always look bad. A gameboy could have good graphics, its about creating a world through the way things looks, whether it be with pixelated sprites or 10000 polygon models.. Graphics are one of the things that DO define a *VIDEO* game..

  • @Gir77661

No, graphics aren't anywhere near as improtant as making the game more playable. But if it's already an awesome game, then why not up the graphics if you can?? It doesn't hurt to improve on the graphics!

  • @Gir77661

Well to be honest, graphics are important as well. If someone encounters a monster but they're too distracted trying to figure out what it is, then the immersion is gone.

Gameplay is important yes, but if you have to look in a manual or go online to figure out what a mess of pixels is, then no matter how good the gameplay is, you're gonna become frustrated with it. What was acceptable 15 years ago is not acceptable today.

Graphics do matter, and they do define part of the game.

  • @Emhilradim Morrowind's graphics aren't THAT bad :P There just needs to be more video games like morrowind :P And confusion on what things are in the game isn't really that big of a problem? Because in morrowind you can see what the animals are....? I knew what they were :P Although things like castlevania I was like- What is dat?! So I'm glad we're past 2D

  • @Emhilradim

Morrowind is versatile game, just like GTA San Andreas. Go figure.

  • @Morrowinda

That's probably the worst comparison you could make for a versatile game...

  • @Emhilradim If you in any way have to "figure out what a mess of pixels is" in this game then you are truly a moron.

  • @Emhilradim

nope, absolutely never felt that way.

And morrowind still has gorgeous graphics today, sure they're outdated and old, but honestly, I like those cartoony realistic graphics, and all the models and textures in Morrowind look unique and I like them just the way they are.

My point is that Morrowind is a proof graphics don't have to be top gen to look good. Also, Morrowind's graphics = immersion.

  • @Gir77661

    actually the graphics don't suck.

  • @Gir77661 And those graphics are almost insane for 2003's game ;D

  • @Gir77661 To me graphics are a big part. Now I really don't care about high amounts of polygons or anything, however great lighting, good looking textures, well done animations, gorgeous environments ect. all make a game so much more in depth for me.

  • @Gir77661 you are completely right. oblivion may hav been a huge leap in visual presentation, but they oversimplified it so much that after the awe value wore off i was right back playing Morrowind

  • @Gir77661 Graphics don't define a game, but they sure can hold it back. I'm seeing mods out these days that unlock morrowind's hidden, but VAST, and almost Godlike potential.

  • @Gir77661 I know what you mean, however, there is another problem, the combat is terrible and outdated.

  • @Gir77661 the graphics is actually incredible...

  • @TheMourningPalace he knows they are

but he just saying when it comes to games Graphics to him are irrelevant

  • @Gir77661 When this game came out, these graphics were awesome.

  • How many memory and videocard-memory needs to the computer, to play this?

  • I love eating french fries while watching this.

  • am i the only one who feels "man, this song is EPIC" when ever i hear the morrowind menu theme?

  • Morrowind is a game that if they just took it and improved the graphics detail, it would be 100% perfect.

  • OMG 0:25-0:29 FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTER!!!

  • Oh my fucking god. This is the fucking shit right here. PROPS MOTHERFUCKER!

  • this reminds me of NWN2

  • Beauuuuutiful. :D

Even the sound tracks for Morrowind (And Oblivion as well.) are so awesome!

  • Wow, I didn't expected that my opinion is shared by so many people. :D

  • best game ever made. even if i love actual titles like mass effect and other stuff, THIS game is the best game by far. Even Oblivion is crap compared to Morrowind

  • man 3:30 = FREAKIN' EPIC

  • i remember playing this on my xbox and i loved this game but it always freezed up on me and i had got so far so i got pissed and quit

  • 3:33

    No way...

  • Such a great game.

  • Well both Mass Effects are "epic" games... Morrowind is just much better.

  • Morrowind is beautiful.

  • One thing I dont like about these distance mods, is the fact the distance water does not match local water, so its not very seamless.... I hate that about Morrowind graphics wise.

  • hmm u know i never even thot of that as a problem but now that i see it improved that is better..maybe the short view is y it seems os much bigger then oblivion when it really isnt.

  • What is amazing about TES games and now Fallout is that when you are for example on top of some mountain range in a town there, what you can see in the distance is not some lousy 2D background texture but actual world and you can go there any moment you want :)

  • That was pretty cool. It was actually really neat seeing the whole of Morrowind from high up without excessive atmospheric perspective. It actually looked like a legitimate island. On the ground, the hills always seemed entirely too steep.

  • wow, just by watching this vid and seeing morrowind through this way, i feel a completely new depth of feeling for this game, lol... amazing game and the best by far if you ask me :]

  • Yes... This is fantastic game :D

  • The view looks like the one of Fallout :D

    Tyvm

  • I've gotta fix my good PC's graphics card issue. *Favorites for future reference*

  • that's the one and only thing I didn't really like about Morrowind.

    The puny view distance,

  • 3:44...lamplight, swaying. genius. thats what made morrowind great.

  • @brimackk I thought it would be good to focus on some minute, "hidden" details after seeing the entire gameworld at once. That's the level of the atmospherics in Morrowind; the epic and the minute.
