The matrix is my favorite movie but in a way I agree with Tommy Dole. We can never prove if we are simulations. I always wondered why the humans tried to escape the matrix when they could be living in another matrix (as revolutions implied)...and if they got out of that matrix they could be living in yet another one.

A lot of aspects of our universe can be interpreted as signs that we are indeed living in a fake/artificial universe. However, since we can't ultimately prove that a 'real' universe exists, then the arguement is moot.

Ah, the "simulated reality hypothesis," It's possible that technology could acheive this someday, so does that mean it is possible that our own universe is a virtual construct? It violates Occam's Razor, too bad ^_^ could give us some hope of an eternal virtual afterlife*_*

It doesn't violate Occam's razor since there are an infinite types of matricies and motivations for constructing them. Perhaps we are in a zoo? Perhaps we are all in prison and they treated us 'Autstralia' style by 'deporting' us to this fake world. Perhaps we aren't human at all, but are the offspring of an A.I. and our world is but a nursery....We can't know anything regarding the truth.
