The smalls get my vote for Best Canadian band of all time. Saw them live a few times. So many great songs. Corb I've seen twice, Starlite Room he rocked, Calgary Folk Fest Main Stage to close the night he was way to mellow.
I knew Corb was in a rock band before going alt-folk-country, but it's both glorious and weird seeing him rock out like this. Either way, he and his bands rule.
WOW, i loved this band in my teens, still love them. glad i thought to search them. one of their best songs too, short and makes you want more, fukin awesome
these guys should set up another tour... it would be huge now.... these guys were so ahead of their time... to bad they didnt come out this generation :(
mike caldwell was singing in a country cover band called Budd Pluggst & Tex-Ass Mikey. there are four Smalls vids. I miss them so bad. I'm into country now thanks to Corb Lund, he still does Waste and Tragedy country style
He has a very manly chin. I'd really like to see some live footage of them since I never got to see them lie myself. I got into them too late and I'm from the wrong country.
i think that they must have went on at about 8;30 or so as I remember it being dusk as the set finished with frisbees flying from the stage. the dead milkmen headlined that night.
I have noticed that there is a functioning Smalls web site.... posibly a reunion in the work$?
Indeed it was. I made this video. An interesting thing was that Much Music censored it at first and I changed the shot of the needle in arm (not showing the needle going in and the blood ball)They then played it fairly regular.
the smalls are the best, its like having a dog that barks at aliens, sounds cool
