thankyou so much for this tribute to the greatest super hero in history, I'm English and I love america without whom I would never had had a pure classic mythological idol, a childhood hero, Wish the clip had been bit longer including the 90's animated series and the animated films of the 199's superman adventures, but what a great job a great tribute to the greatest hero in history
Senfeld is a disgrace to Superman. In real life, Superman wouldn't rip him in half, because that isn't his thing, but he'd certainly give him a solid punch to the face.
@MrGrevy I was just saying that with the two creators being jewish, why would you say " Ugh get that jew out of here" Do you have anything against jews? Or do you just not like Jerry Seinfield? I don't care for him, but he is just another big Superman fan.
@MrGrevy dont fuck with jews they can kick ass when the time comes like world war 1 and 2 so give all jewish people a damn break dude anyway the guy that made SUPERMAN his dad got shoot in a bank trying to stop the bad guys from taking the money so the idea of a SUPERHERO was born aka SUPERMAN and the most badass thing about SUPERMAN and DC COMICS its CANADIAN
@HEAVYMETALGODS86feb9 Umm I think jews got their ass kicked in WWII, you historically illiterate jackass! Jews are horrible, neurotic, greedy people who should be avoided at all costs.
@RadarKat73080 I remember a Mad Magazine issue in which they showed what Superman,Batman, and Wonder Woman would be like if they were allowed to be their actual age. Funny.
@sleedolfine15 Marvel's What if also did that in a humor issue. Spiderman wearing adult diapers. Capt, America is a skeleton because he'd be over 100.
Superman has survived 70 years because, I believe, he is the representation of the inner desires of every man on Earth- he acts out what mortal men have wished they could do since the dawn of mankind.
Long live Jerry and Joe's creation! Next time you make fun of a couple of high school nerd cartoonists, remember that the Big Boy Scout is still the BEST defender of Truth, Justice, (and, besides, the fastest typist at the Daily Planet) almost eighty years after his rocket landed in Cleveland, Ohio's Glenview High School and bounced clear to Kansas! Up, up, and away!!
Haha, yeah, I guess Superman holds the ultimate distinction for being the most popular comicbook crime fighter and putting the "super" in superhero...
You're right shazam! Even though i don't think he's invincible ( pretty sure the hulk could beat him in a fight and flash could out run him even though the comic books showed each as a draw!) he does everything so well til you have to say that he's the man!
Nah, I dont think hulk is a match for supes. He may have the strength and stamina but he doesnt have the durability and speed to keep up. But yeah, the flash can school superman on a race track any time!
Well done! I like the mixture of content. I have dvd of the ?Fliesher? cartoons from the 30's and they are superb. Christopher Reeve is the man tho. Played Superman and Clark Kent perfectly. Brandon Routh is serviceable but he needs to bulk up a little and play Clark Kent a little more geeky/harmless. Maybe bring the voice up an octave. Honourable mention goes to George Reeves. He was a good actor and played the role extremely well. RIP to both. Thanks for posting!
I hardly remember George Reeves. I was a young boy when they would play his 50's era tv show. You can see that he was a real actor though, classically trained and I found him very competent. I think because of my age and the way he played the role he seemed more fatherly rather than a contemporary and young Superman. Chris Reeve is still the man in my opinion though. Based on the first 2 movies as those are the only ones I have seen aside the most recent production.
I was very young as well when they played the reruns, you can always buy the series with George Reeves on DVD I have the first 2 seasons, my six year old son has enjoyed them more then me.
Paul Nemwan was actually considered for what became Chris Reeve's Superman role. There is a great bio (Paul Newman: the Dream Has Ended!) for sale at amazon. Jenifer Demers is the book's author!
there have been some really good actors who have played Superman, but for me cos I was growing up in the time of the first film with Christopher Reeve, he will allways be the Superman thats you belived lived for Truth, honest, and the American way. He was the best may he rst in peace. Christopher Reeve, R.I.P
@martysnumbaone Reeve will always be Superman to a generation, but my first impression of Superman on the screen was watching old reruns of George Reeves on a local station after school. He was every bit as worthy of the roll.
@martysnumbaone I completely agree. When I hear this theme music, I think of the film that came out in '78. It is arguably the best film based on a comic strip.
@martysnumbaone Before there was Christopher Reeve, there was George Reeves. Both Supermen in their own right. It is Christophers accident, and his comeback that brings him to the fore as the Best of the Supermen.
IMO, Smallville will end before the release of the next Superman movie. Clark will officially don the costume in the last episode of Smallville, and the movie will be a sequel to Smallville starring Tom Welling as Clark and Superman.
The reason why I love the Superman movies is because first of all I can identify myself with Superman - I have a light personality and my view of life is a very positive and optimistic "do-it yourself-and-solve-the-problems-attitude" and Superman, like me, lives in the present and is looking forward to embrace the future. He is not a dark figure and he is not a pessimist - like Batman and others. He is a light among the fictional heroes.
So true on the morals thing. Why the hell do you think Marvel turned Spiderman from a loving, devoted husband/hero into a skirt chasing, live at home with aunt non hero/jerk.
What can I say? This was super! (Please don't cite me for a lack of literary creativity!)
