there's nothing wrong with a cat on a leash. sure, it may look silly, but it gives indoor cats an opportunity to go outside. some indoor cats never go outside and i think that is terrible. it takes time and patience to teach a cat to walk on a leash, but it's well worth it. i bet your parents are wonderful people. they're more concerned about the well being of the cat, then how they're perceived. we need more people like this in the world. kudos to your parents! !!

You're right, it's a lot more common than people relize. What's wrong with bringing your cats outside? They should be able to feel the grass and breathe the fresh air. Ours were trained at a young age too, so just like yours we can grab the leash and they know exactly what's happening. It's cute!

I think he's a Maine Coon. We have one. They're one of the biggest domesticated cats you can get. They can reach about 22lbs but I have heard of bigger. Ours is about 17lbs but he's only a year and a half old.

Great kitty, not overweight...just a ;ot of fur. Some fun routine brushings would be good, but wear oven mitts! Enjoy that little creamsicle. A leash is the only safe way to take your cat out to enjoy the outdoors so he won't get away and be a victim on a street full of cars, a rabid skunk, or a loose dog. GOOD JOB, pet lovers!
