Do not focus to close to the camera and then the focusing will be much better. Also don't put it too close to the camera and then the focusing will be improving.
So as you mentioned two different video formats on which HD camcorders encode the video files, mp4 and as of the hf20 uses avchd, which one is better?
I have the vixia hf20 and it won't play using media player on windows but after rendering on vegas pro is all good =)
I don't think it's about which one is better. AVCHD surely has better quality than mp4, but as you discovered, you can't play your video clips as easily as a camera that just records into plain mp4 files. You need to extract them using something like vegas pro. With a camera that records straight into mp4 files, you can just play the clips straight from the memory card on any video player that plays mp4s.
Yes it does. You might want to check out our full review. Search for "Gear65 #21" on youtube, or you should see it on the "Related Videos" list or at our user profile page.
It's not a dumb question, cos honestly, I don't know the answer to that question neither! I checked the official website, and of the accessories you could buy, I didn't find any lenses, so it's most likely not possible to attach lenses to this camera.
I'm going on Holiday to Cananda soon (ugh) so I was thinking of buying this camera over there I'm from the UK so would the tv format NTSC and PAL or any other detail be an issue say if I wanted to use that camera in UK. Sorry about the questions it's just I'm sure I can get one cheaper in Canadian currency
VIXIA is for the US (NTSC) market, etc, and LEGRIA is for the PAL market. Otherwise the same. Kinda like how Sony does this: HDR-HC9 for USA, and for PAL, they do; HDR-HC9E
nice video man!
are you happy with the cam, and what dont u like about it ??????

I don't know much about PAL vs NTSC since I usually do web stuff, but I think it will matter if you hook it up to the TV or plan to make DVDs etc.
According to the guy who commented below, if it's NTSC, it's called the VIXIA instead of LEGRIA, you might want to take note of that.

Thanks

Is it possible that you can post some test footage in HD? That would be great. Thanks.
