  • Ahoy there pirates. You can find sound tracks for all 4 seasons you know where.

  • me too (catching up on DVD) !!! must admit i thought she was singing Christian not question :) great song great singer great show and great they have great music ... great !

  • scottjhnsn

of course PJ Harvey sounds like PJ Harvey- but just listen to this track- there is definitely a hint of Patti there- being influenced by a great artist is no shame- definitely some Patti Smith influence- and other influences they have in common there- USA country/ folk, rock & UK and USA punk

  • @MsFemfemfem i dunno,i still don't hear that in pj's music. never have. and when people say it,i feel it's a bit of a cop-out simply because pj is very much a singular artist who plays rock 'n' roll like patti has and does. it's the only thing i see they have in common. i love them both and i revere them both but as individual artists.

  • Because of true blood I found this song and I really love it ! It's perfect !

  • you people seriously need to brush up on your patti smith and pj harvey alike. this sounds nothing like patti smith to me. although pj does have this clever way of changing up the pitches of her voice(which is why she is such a great vocalist aside from being a great artist),you can still hear that distinctive tone.

  • My apologise im sorry cause im a dumb but i dont heard this song before i dont even know abaut she is in this world with this powerful song what is comin out from shes soul i love her i love the way how she s singing and the power in his voice ( sry for my bad english hope u understand what i mean she s gorgeus)

  • Love Violent Femmes...which led me to find this

  • True Blood True Blood yey!:D:D:

  • So its good that she can mimic Patti Smith? Can't wait to hear her do Lulu

  • Its a Gordon Gano album with PJ singing on it.

  • This IS Patti Smith!!!! Your wrong and very stupid! Look at the Album!

  • @BlackRabbit83

    No it's not.

"Hitting the Ground" is an album by Gordon Gano and the titular track is sung by PJ Harvey.

Now get off your fucking I'm-so-smart-high horse.

  • @BlackRabbit83: Your imbecility has obviously no limits! Cretin!!

  • like patty smith

  • This is a collaboration i thought I'd never hear. I Love It!

  • fuck true blood

  • Her voice sounds like Courtney Love's voice :O

  • GOD DAMN!!

  • Take a great song by Gordon Gano, and make it greater by asking PJ Harvey to sing it.

  • true blood madafaka!

  • Where can i download this song?! It's awesome

  • Anyone know what album this is on? Have 24 albums from PJ Harvey but none of those have it

  • @silje1979 It's actually on Gordon Gano's album "Hitting The Ground"

  • hitting the ground from true blood haha

  • @iluvsameer do you want a cookiee, dipshit?

  • i think it sounds like cojoba in english

  • Heard it also in True Blood. Fell in love instantly. Absolute favourite. ;)

  • She def has a Patti Smith sound to her here....... I love this!!!

  • That was in last True Blood ( S3E07) // To było w ostatniej Czystej Krwi ( S3E07)

  • I love how everyone goes through the same arc of discovery with this song. You hear it and immediately think, that's got to be Patti Smith. When you learn it's PJ you smack yourself in the head because it is so clearly her voice, but since the phrasing she is using is right out of the Patti Smith songbook it throws you.

I tell you, the ending credits of True Blood episodes are one fucking epic jukebox. Whoever is responsible for assembling the music for this

    show kicks major ass.

  • @psychicwhoosh Yea like the intro has never getting old to me, it match the video so well and add such an electric yet mystic vibe to it.

I always kept my ears open after that.

  • hahaha i thought it was patti smith too, but the exactly thought was: pj harvey reaaaally sounds like patti smith in there, babe. nice song, though

  • Aaw, I knew the voice sounded familiar, just couldn't place it. My first guess was also Patti.

  • When I heard this on the closing credits of True Blood, I too thought it was Patti Smith. I consider that a compliment to P J. I'm really happy to have found it. I had not heard it until it played on True Blood.

  • This is so funny. Here we all are experiencing the same thing. I'm adding myself to the roster of peeps who heard this at the end of True Blood and then thought it was Patti Smith. I even just pulled out her famous 'Horses' album and looked to see if 'Hitting The Ground' was on there. Then I googled "patti smith hitting the ground" and wah-lah..here we are.

  • @ShelterDogs . LOL That's about gist of it. It's a great tune. On repeated listening, I can tell it is a Gordon Gano song (in many ways, it has "Violent Femmes" written all over it. But damn if PJ doesn't do one hell of a job!

  • @ShelterDogs Ditto

  • @CelticMisfit Glad i'm not the only one. She's awesome

  • @CelticMisfit ....first one I thought of was patti smith....like u said not a bad comparison!

  • @CelticMisfit Same. Good song.

  • Glad to identify the singer -- I thought it sounded like Patti Smith, too.

  • I just heard this at the end of the new episode of True Blood, good tune.

  • @Humanfly11 Thats what brought me here too.

  • is this a b-side?

  • really Pj it sunds like Patty Smith

  • @MariliaSRosa

yeah, i've also noticed it. real patty :)

  • excellent - took me ages to find it

  • pogueish are you drunk? This IS PJ Harvey with Gordon Gano
