Yes, we made it at Nelvana, same producers that were responsible for many great cartoons like "The Care Bears". Basically an animation house, this was one of their forays into live action. "My Pet Monster" was another one, the original 'live action video' was the pilot for a series (I played the 'Monster'), but it went animated and I was out of a job! Great folks to work with.

i have most of this movie on tape, but the beginning and ending are missing. i could probably have it converted to dvd and combine it with someone else's copy to make a complete version. i loved this as a kid.

Hey guys, I've got a copy of this entire movie. It has a couple cuts, probably totaling only a couple minutes at most. It's most likely the fullest version available. That's the one! He drives through the carwash and the car turns into a spaceship. Try searching for "The Rocket Boy" on IMDb. For some reason it's called "The Rocket Boy (1989) (TV).

This is one of those shows that stays in the very back of your brain as a faint memory until you see something like this.

Was this the same show where the superhero had to drive through a car wash in order to make the transformation? Or am I mixing that up with another show around this time? I've been googling up and down but can't find any real info on the show. Thanks!
