Im a diehard Stewart fan, and I feel he didnt win this race. He drove the 01 down to the appron, but whatever, we obviously know know NASCAR would rather see what happened with the 09 and 99 in 2009 than see this.
Ryan Newman passed Kurt Busch below the yellow line on the last lap during an IROC race at Daytona. Obviously that is a different series, but I believe the rules were the same. Shame that Regan was robbed a victory.
i am a huge Tony fan, but io watched this race, and i did believe Tony blocked the 01 car which would mean the 01 had every right to stay on the bottom, 01 got the screw job, but good racin none the less
The announcers CLEARLY said that the yellow-line move is PERFECTLY LEGAL on the last lap!!! Regan Smith won the race and you know it, NASCAR!
I'm a Jeff Gordon fan, and I would have said the exact same thing if Gordon had raced him to the line. Maybe not as angrily, but Regan deserves to win either way.
Like Driver like fan huh...If it were Jeff or Jimmie and this were to happen, there would be no review or anything they would have won it just because.
The only problem with your comment is you stated "The announcers clearly said". In the driver's meeting before the race, (they went over this time and time again), "Passing below the yellow line is NOT permitted- not on the final lap, not when you're in sight of the checkered flag, not if you have the fastest car, not anytime. Tony was clearly the winner, and I admire Regan's bold move. But Tony is the winner. Case Closed.

@NASCARWWEclubpenguin -- You are right. I apologize for being so hard on Tony. In fact, I've actually gained a new respect for him since he brought that team of his from backmarker status to Chase contention.
