It's funny you say you found all that good stuff on the side of the road. I'll bet its plenty of people who leave stuff on the side of the road in NYC because they don't have anywhere else to put it. And put it on the street so people like you can find it, and it could have a good home!

If this was my apartment,I would paint the exposd brick in a light colour,attach a large mirror to the opposite wall to give the feeling of space and build in wall storage for your tv.
I dont think I have ever seen such a compact apartment?
