  • It really good at making dragons. It would be so cool if u could make Scylla the six headed dragon from the odessey

  • @icebreakersix1nine

  • @TheABABABABABABABAB

Thank you for the kind words. Good luck on your projects!

    Dan

  • how do you make them so shiny ?? varnish ??

  • @TheABABABABABABABAB

Hello there. Actually, in this case it's just that I used a semi-glass paint. I don't use varnish. You can get several effects just by using different sheens in the paint.

    Take care

    Dan

  • What do you use for the wings? O:

  • @Shalaia33

I use old sheets dipped in white glue for the wings.

    Dan

  • again, I am speechless. Your work is absolutely breathtaking!

  • @alilqtinvegas

Again, you are too kind. I'm very happy that you like the work. Thank you again.

    Dan

  • hey! DAn what paint you are using ?

  • @Unzaman

Hello there. I use acrylic/latex paints, basically house paint or all purpose paint that you can get at Home Depot. But any water based paints will work.

    Dan

  • Incrivel sua arte! Obrigado por responder, mas me diga, aquele pote é cola branca?Poderia dizer a receita? God Blessed you!

  • @7enorio

Olá novamente. Eu uso farinha e água para colar a primeira parte, o papel machê. Eu uso cola branca e um pano para a "pele" do lado de fora.

    Dan

  • r they mating?

  • @SuperSteelers65

They aren't mating, but they are being very close.

    Dan

  • @DanMonsterMan thanks and great work! :)

  • Hey Dan, you may not remember me because I haven't talked to you in a while. But Amazing work, I can't believe how lucky I am to even 'see' you magical art. I have created two creatures from your inspiration. I even gave one to my best friend! For the eyes I couldn't find that glass marble you suggested so i made it out of clay! I can't wait to show you my master piece!

-Aaron (<--hope that gave you a hint)

  • @TheHALLOOON

Hello again Aaron. Of course I remember you. I'm very happy that you've made some art! Congratulations. I'm sure the eyes turned out well.

If you ever feel like getting some exposure for your art, I'd be happy to post photos on my site. If you are interested, just send it to my address dan at gourmetpapermache (dot com).

    Keep making art!

    Dan

  • hey Dan!,..what is the black that you wash over your piece once you've finished painting??.....I am working on a dragon myself,(it's turning out great so far), I will post some pix when done!....I very appreciate you and your work!!, and it "LOOKS" like you enjoy doing it as well!.........thanks for that!

  • @69eddiebear

    Hey there,

That is just watered down black paint. I paint it on and wipe it off before it dries. It really brings out the detail and colors. I call the process "blackwashing" for lack of a better term. By the way, I love to post photos of other people's work on my site. If that is something you are interested in, send photos to me, dan at gourmetpapermache (dot com).

    Good luck.

    Dan

  • Absolutely magnificent, Dan.

  • @Chugosh

Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words. You are always really supportive. It' means a lot to me.

    Dan

  • What kind of glue did u dip the fabric pieces in?

  • @DarkhunterWerewolf

I like good old Elmer's glue. And it's the cheapest. But any white glue will work.

    Dan

  • you are the most amazing man on earth. you are better than chuck norris, abraham lincoln, and god zilla combined!!!

  • @legomoviesguy

You are very funny! We all know that Godzilla could destroy Tokyo. I'm not sure Chuck Norris could though. You are very kind. Thank you for commenting.

your cat is very funny :)

I like Paper Mache Dragon Pair :)

    nice work dude :)

    Saltu SierpKiler

  • what are tha scales made of?

  • @italouruguayricano

The scales are made of cloth pieces dipped in glue. This build can be seen with commentary on my blog if you are interested, PaperMacheBlog (dot com).

    Dan

  • @thirzapharmer

I really like wire clothes hangers. You can still find them around or get them online. They are great.

    Good luck

    Dan

  • @thirzapharmer

I do sell some, but they are pretty expensive. That's why I encourage people to make their own. They are just really labor intensive. You should make your husband a dragon. He would love it.

I do have a page on my site where I put things I'm selling, just to let you know.

    Thanks for your interest.

    Dan

  • @shnawpiest

Thank you for the nice comment. I haven't put a price on these as of yet.

    Take care

    Dan

  • Great work as usual. However, I prefer the video style that shows you working more than this technique. Stunning results never the less.

  • @johndalymusic

Thank you John. I agree about the style of video. I just didn't have video of this build. But I did have a lot of photos. I just thought I'd put it out there any way. Hope your music is going well.

    Dan

  • I see your doing new things... I love you work!! Maybe I'll try after my current (clay) project is done..... What I love about what you do the most is the meterial costs VERY little lol I'm almost too scared to try [I may never do clay] again!! JK, great video! =D

  • @TheBroodingTom

Don't be afraid. Give it a try. You'll love it. Good luck with your clay project!

    Dan

  • just amazing

  • @Nogoodnikki

Thank you Nikki! (I still love your login).

    Dan

  • @AlphaCamoJupitane

I just use masking tape. The blue tape will work in a pinch, but it doesn't seem to have as much sticking power. But I've used it. Go for it.

    Dan

  • Wow Dude your so good at that I gots to try that some day

  • @Joe22Awsome

Thank you Joe. Yes, you should try it some day. It is a really great art form. YOu would really like it I think.

    Dan

  • I like it !!!

So powerful & brilliant colors !!

  • @kiguchitoshiya

Thank you. I'm so happy you commented on the colors. I wrestled with those for a couple of months. In the end, I stuck with what I know works for dragons.

    I appreciate the kind words.

    Dan

  • Amazing, as expected!

  • @thebeautyofourevil

Thank you so much! You are always really supportive, and it is much appreciated.

    Dan

  • truely awesome mate! best one's yet! they look great individually but fantastic as a pair!! the scales are really effective and their paws are great too, so realistic. Plus the faces might be the "same" but i think they each have their own personallity. Thumbs up for sure!!!

  • @trje246

That is a really nice comment! Made my night. Thank you so much! I know it's different than the rest with the slide show and all. But I think it works. I'm glad you like it. It means a lot that you took the time to share.

    Dan
