I took a second look to see if your planetarium theory checks out. I find that the objects are moving independent of each other and changing brightness. 

Maybe the photographer had to pee.

Gotta admit im a little sceptical about this one. For two main reasons. One would be it looks like star constallitions, rephrase with the way the camera is jumping up and down its difficult to get a real grip on it. And two and this is my personal opinion I think if you went into one of those star constallation rooms where the star patterns are displayed in a dark room and stick someone in there with shaking hands this is what you get.
