This information is correct. One thing to take into acocunt is that you get proteins out of the corn after ethanol that you can then feed to cattle so its doubling its potential. Also its important to remember ethanol subsidies dont go to ethanol plants but to oil companies to blend the ethanol. Ethanol is probably not the answer but its been around for years and will not be going anywhere any time soon.

In this case, the cure for high prices is reducing ridiculous, distortionary production subsidies. It is incomprehensible that we are still paying for these programs, even as commodity prices are as high as they have been in decades. Never before has rent-seeking been portrayed as so 'patriotic'.
