What are they sewing together? I thought that the lap band is supposed to just be placed around the top part of the stomach and that's it, no cutting or anything done to the stomach itself. Can someone explain?

I got my lapband yesterday. I was scared shitless when I saw the table and surgical team but as soon as they put the anestesia mask on- I don't remember shit!

I stayed overnight in the hospital and left the next day. My abdomen hurts but the pain should go away in a few days. Worst feeling was not being able to piss after the catheter came out.

@shashaneedy14--good luck on your surgery, sweetheart! it's been 9 months for mine. I've lost about 40 pounds...it hurt at first. i admit that but it is definately the best thing I've ever done for myself...and i am so glad that I went through with it. let me know if you need anything!

Fabulous to see what is done. As a nurse who had this procedure done I was concerned about the technique actually entering the stomach mucosa pre-op so nice to see the superficial aspect in securing the band. Thanks
