@smokedoutrecords1986 whats up man I was like that too when i first got my neo its pretty good check out some of my songs sometime..and thouse songs i recorded are just rough drafts youll see that its pretty good recording like a real pro studfo...what so you need help in??just plug in the mic press the phantom power and hold down the mixer button u want the track on and the mic line button and two lights will light up...then just hit record and play at the same time

i run 3 via midi...i would highly suggest recording on them, and dragging the info into a computer DAW such as logic or pro tools for extensive editing and layering

Hi, I purchased the Tascam Neo's instructional DVD by ProAudioDVDs. The man knows his stuff-worth the investment to be able to SEE & HEAR what the manual only allows you to READ & fall asleep.

*YOU CAN RECORD up to 8 tracks @ once! I find this most useful when my Keyboard (stereo out) midi'd into my Yamaha (2 out) midi'd thru my Protius2K-thru in the Digitech Vocalist which is used for my "scratch vocals" a 1960's term for 1st take Guide Vocals. 8 ins room 4 more Musical FUN & insanity. ENJOY

Can you use the Tascam to control FL Studio/Reason (DAW) via MIDI? In other words, does this machine work as an MIDI interface/Controller?????

That's the way I go, with dedicated recording units. I would NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, trust a damn PC with doing songs. And it was refreshing not to hear borderline retarded IQ rap / hip hop this once.

i'm still figuring the tascam out. It's an great recorder/mixer. Allot of effects for your guitar. allot of functions. The most affordable mixer for that money.

The trumpet sound there sounded like an Ensoniq ESQ-1. I just got my 2488 Neo yesterday, but haven't used it yet. I'm going to read the manual at bedtime for a week or two. What's your opinion of the comments by some users reporting past 2488s crashing?
