@huntercaveman i agree, and i have since purchased a cold steel bowie machete, which i have heat treated, and replaced its rubber handle, and a gi tanto, at the time i made this vid i was basically strapped for cash, but i have since gotten off my lazy ass and gotten a job.
@8thsinner caves in AZ are warm and humid, even in winter, but i appreciate the concern :) i use most of the things you mentioned( cotton balls, baby wipes triangular bandaids, to be honest, womens hygiene pads make AMAZING bandages)
and as for the rest of it, im on a budget :P but thank you!
Well...you forgot the most important thing a FIRE SOURCE, something like a Bic lighter and or water proof matches.
I would also recomend a container to carry water, a fixed blade knife (the switchblade doesnt cut it). some ranger bands and dental floss are good to have to.
Ranger bands come in very handy, plus they can used to start fires. Dental floss is small compact string that is very strong and you have alot of.
WTF are you going to do with a switchblade on a camping trip (don't tell me it's for survival because, you probably couldn't survive your way out of a wet paper bag), except stab yourself I hope! This is certainly the worst video in this matter to be published here!
@TheNekedOne thats how i do! i have since updated, that knife isnt very good, i prefer my bowie machete, and a small fixed blade knife with a nice belly.
@XxZorakxX i hate those. they arent good at all. i have a new video about my new backpack, its much better. i wouldnt suggest a duffle. good for moving, but not when you need something in a hurry. personally, i say dont waste your time with one. buy yourself a condow tac pack, or an alice pack.
Your kinda limited by the size of the pack. But a sleeping bag and pad are a must. Lose the boy scout kit and get a trangia mini or msr pocket rocket stove or equivalent. Flash light ,bungy cords, carabiners, radio, small shovel ,axe, multi tool. I like to carry a fixed blade knife, about 6 in. blade. And I always carry a pistol, 9mm with 2 extra clips. I don't care if it's legal or not . It's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it....Good luck on your outings.
lol the nerdy kid scout comment made me laugh :P yeah its true now when u say ur a boyscout we just laugh at u goin like lol yeah i bet u learn how to help ol ladies cross the road now! xD.
yep, i remember when i was a kid we had "DANGEROUS" equipment. and we were allowed to actually "CAMP" instead of playing little games and learn moral lessons. god i hate overprotective parents with all their bullshit. if we got cut we learned from it with a little scar, now a kid gets cut the camp gets sued.
@JakeReptiles by the way, its not a good idea to scrap the soupe cans, more nutrition that just packing light food. but i just wanna say, i pack flour, tinned soupe, KD, a tube full of uncooked spaghetti and rice...macaroni, and diced tomatoes. its heavy but atleast u got ur nutrition in check. unless u pack suppliments like centrum. but id rather have a full, filling delicious meal. especially with some fkin bannock. i love that stuff..tastes good.better than ordinairy
i actually dont use this one anymore, my latest video is about my new backpack, and almost everything i put in there is waterproof so it shouldnt matter.
i i ditched my denim sleeping bag for a significantly lighter poly something or other one. and this video is very dated. my new pack is much better, albeit weighing in at about 40 lbs. Equip2Endure mentioned me in one of his videos!
at 1:10, i agree. boy scouts arent good anymore haha. nice vid though. just one thing, a machete is fine, but i would opt for a fixed blade knife, just sayin. 5/5
a fixed blade knife? pssshh, i got the mother of all fixed blade knives, the cold steel 12 inch bowie machete. i never go into the mountains without it! its lovely.
yea, i brought a sharpened WW2 shovel and that served as an axe, and a decent noise maker when a bobcat entered our area!
that was creepy!
and i didnt pack the sharpener, because the one i have is one of those fragile ones and my knives i brought were usable, i sharpened them the night before
thumbs up to when the boy scouts werent just a bunch of nerds

Also, Bobby pins with thin cord makes great clothes pegs.and tarp clips.
8thsinner 7 months ago
Ditch the tins (too heavy)
Shrink down the repellent,
Add an emergency blanket, or foil tube tent for lining tarp/poncho, caves are fucking cold.
Add four more tent pegs for tarping without trees...
Add cotton balls to sanitiser for fire tinder. Or cotton balls and vaseline for fire, No need for sticks the size you got., quarter of one of them...
Ditch toilet paper, use baby wipes cleans pots and pans too.
A Balisong is FAR FAR stronger
I would add a triangular bandage too, pairs nice with ace.
