  • way to go beast..never forget ya bro!

  • The stuff of legends. Great video, music and all.

  • this was my favorite flyer team, they tried so hard... they should have won that year.... took the greatest team ever to 7 games..

  • This was probaly one of the greatest teams never to win the cup,tim kerr out with a torn shoulder, dave poulin playing with a flak jack to protect his broken ribs, mark howe playing with a heriated disk, sinasalo playing with a bum knee, that team showed so much heart and guts it was awesome.

  • PLEASE POST MORE!!!!

  • That's Gene Hart.

  • Bettman was not the commissioner in 1987.......Bettman didn't become commissioner and corrupt the league until 1993

  • And even then it took probably five years or so for the NHL to truly start going downhill. Bettman inherited a GREAT product. Even he couldn't screw it up right away.

  • The only reason the Flyers didnt win was because

    1. The Refs were biased against them

    2. They were really injured.

    3. Bettman wanted Crosby.....err...Gretzky in the playoffs.

    typical Flyers fans mentality

  • No, the only reason they did not win was that they were playing a far superior opponent and yes they were missing Tim Kerr. If you do not think that not having Kerr in the lineup for the finals made a difference then you are crazy. He had 58 goals (95 pts) in 75 games that year in the RS & 8 goals (13 pts) in 12 GP in the playoffs. They went to game 7 w/o him and were in it till the bitter end. If he was there it would have certainly made a difference! Refs had nothing to do with it.

  • You're montage of Game clips from this series is fantastic. Thank you. Even though I followed these playoffs religiously on ESPN I did not even remember that the Oilers had a 3-0 lead in game 3. That's an AMAZING comeback and is in many ways equal if not superior to the Game 6 comeback. In Game 6 it was the final 10 minutes but they were only down one goal, and then Propp and Daigneault scored. This game had slipped from my memory bank.

  • Glad you enjoyed them. Regarding game 3? You are preaching to the choir! I have been saying that and can't understand why everyone hoots and hollers about game 6. Game 6 was a great comeback. It certainly had a finality about it given that game 7 was riding on it and they were done if they lost. But if they lost game 3 they were just as done. By game 6 they had already proven to themselves they could come back since they had twice already. But down by 3 facing what they were? Just amazing!

  • As I noted in it the 3-0 comeback for the win in game 3 was the first time in NHL history it was accomplished. That alone should put it in at LEAST the same regard as what they did in game 6. As I said, I think it was a better game and greater comeback from the dead. I don't know how they just did not pack it in after that third goal. They were playing arguably the best team in NHL history without their top goal scorer!

  • the reason they didnt win was becvuz they didnt get a shot in the 1st 7mins u dont win cups like that

  • Scott Mellanby LOL he was playing in

the nhl up un tell last year.

  • Once again, excellent audio for the intro. What is the audio from? I can't quite put my finger on it.

  • Thank You so much for the compliment. I put a lot of thought into the music and was very picky that it fit the mood of the game and situation. To answer your question, the song used in the beginning is called "The Darkest Day" from the Independence Day soundtrack.

  • Dave, one of the things that infuriates me about YouTube is that all these so-called 'artists' will take a (outstanding) video like this and simply record some loud song from Trapt or Papa Roach over it to 'add their own flavor', ruining the whole thing. You, OTOH, took your time and matched the music perfectly. They say a roll makes or breaks the hoagie, but just as much as the background music makes or breaks the video. EXCELLENT job. On ALL of them.

  • Thank you so much again! As a creative professional it is always so nice to hear and know that such details are noticed and appreciated. Glad you enjoyed them. Given the effort of both teams and the greatness of this series, how could I possibly do it justice by giving it a half assed effort? I am just fortunate I had enough foresight to record the games. I am hoping someone notices, remembers this series and puts them out as a DVD box set. Spread the good word my friend!

  • Classic Oilers - get a huge lead and then let the opposition come back. However, in the end, it ended well. Too bad this wasn't the outcome in aught six. :(

  • I was at this game with my dad. I was 9. Best game I ever went to, I can still remember all of the goals in my head. It's insane to watch this replay knowing I was there.

  • I love the Mark Messier shorthanded breakaway goal LOL. Wow can Messier ever skate. Dave, this is another unbelievable video! Great stuff!

  • THIS IS AWESOME!!!

  • @iLoveMEsomeME81 I will one of these days. My apologies. I work for myself so I have to have my priorities and just have not had much time for this kind of stuff.
