@johnsta83 - Throw an APEX trigger kit into the gun, and it'll have a better trigger than the Pro. Install a set of Sevigny sights, and it'll have better sights than a Pro.
When I bought mine, the 9L was on steep discount at Bud's gun shop. Since I didn't like the fat front post on the PRO not it's trigger, I jumped on it.
Great job, my son and I are shooting the classifier in a couple weeks, and are stoked. I'm left-handed, but will be shooting it right handed, as it's been easier to find gear for righties. I now have a left handed holster, but haven't trained much with it.
Good shooting brother! The best I have shot this is 111, so I am about 20 seconds out of Master shooting CDP, (I still don't know why I get penalized for shooting a .45 but whatever), I'll get there though.
Take your time and have fun with it. Watch the good shooters at matches, ask them questions and learn. I started shooting IDPA last Oct, shot the classifier after my second match and didn't make MM. 8 matches and 5 months later shot it again and made SSP SS. Just stick with it and practice and above all have fun.
IDPA assumes you have a perfect score on each target, and you then ADD penalty points for each hit that is not in the center-chest or head.
They are referred to as "points down". If you do a Google Image search for an IDPA target, you will see the zones labeled -1 and -3 outside the center scoring zone. A complete miss is 5 points down.
Each point down adds a half second to your overall time for the stage, and shortest overall time wins.
Hey MemphisMechanic,
Does your time of 30.34 seconds for Stage 1 already after factoring in points down?

Do you have any mods on the 9L? I want a 9 Pro but can't find one anywhere...I could make mods to a 9L to make it similar to a 9 Pro.

@FieldBoy111
It's a 130gr BlackBulletsInternational with 3.8gr of Solo1000 under it. 129.5 power factor.

Interesting how the hatcam makes the targets look farther away than they really are.

@SuperSetCA Yeah, I noticed that. That looks super intimidating from that point of view!

Any advice to a new IDPA shooter that will shoot his first classifier in April?

I made Master more than a year ago, but thanks!
I just hadn't shot the Classifier with the M&P, and was curious.
