  • Stephane Sednaoui thwe best music video director!!!

  • i think these guys did a few hits of acid back in the day,who know... amazing though

  • heheh its one of my fav videos of massive and great song...just noticed there might be some sequences from supergirl in this vid and its just great! :DD love massive <3

  • The song and video are about Thinking, "Wondering". Its about the Metamorposis of intelligence and thought as symbolized at 3:26. It is symbolizing the transformation of a caterlippar (or pupate) to a Butterfly (orMoth) from crawling to flight...

  • that singer has a beautiful voice, does anyone know her name?

  • Kako volim ovu stvar!

  • @FleshMob i ja,definitivno najbolji spot

  • how devine

  • this one defends our place in universe...

  • E coisa boa!!!

  • I am so disappointed it has taken me so long to discover this genre.

    This is beautiful.

  • u discovered at the right time :D this genre finds u u dont find it

    -Trip hop

  • @kakoelmakako SOO true! I too was lead to it! "Teardrop" from my favorite tv show HOUSE led me to it! It is a brilliant genre and a welcome change to the mundane!

  • nice with a phat one?

  • oh and also check out Juno Reactor! There pretty cool too!

  • I dig them...they aren't quite as mellow imo, but still quality stuff.

  • Massive Attack=Awesome

  • Blue Lines - most influential album

Protection - their overall best and most cohesive record

Mezzanine - would've been their best if they weren't having internal conflicts, first half of album DESTROYS the 2nd half

100th Window - their most atmospheric effort

Bottom line: each album brings something different and great

  • thanks

  • @SpeedyStorm Blue Lines - Most hip-hop oriented

Protection - Ambient and Dub influenced.

Mezzanine - More rockish, guitar driven.

100th Window - I actually never listened to this.

Just my opinion, ofc. What do you think?

  • Pretty accurate. Mezzanine is definitely the heaviest, and I agree with Protection being ambient-ish. I'd say listen to 100th Window, it puts you in a different state of mind. It's definitely different and much slower, but it's really amazing in my opinion. Give it a listen.

  • @SpeedyStorm 100th window i think was their worst album, or I should say least best, because it was still damn good, just not as good as previous albums, and the new one coming out, "Heligoland" I think...

  • 100th Window was their least user-friendly, it had virtually no hooks or choruses, it was definitely experimental. It was the first album of theirs I heard, so I loved it. It just puts me in a different space. Lately I play Mezzanine A LOT, I love its heaviness, but I maintain that Protection is their overall best. And I think Heligoland will be awesome

  • @Nervousification bad yes but butterfly caught was a good vid and song

  • I like a lot Blue Lines

  • LOL awsome! i love the black geisha girl as well! XD

  • What velvet tones.......calming pulse......a GREAT escape !

  • remmenber my ex gyrfriend =(

  • Mezzanine and 100th window are the best albums.

  • This song will always calm me down. Very soothing indeed. The music video is amazing as ever. Massive Attack will always stay strong!

  • lsd exprience on the streets very impressive

  • i wish the last part was longer

  • this makes life worth living.

You get gratitude when u watch this

  • this video is fantastic.

  • Pherhaps the best video of Massive Attack.

  • butterfly caught is really cool aswell

  • Does anyone know or have an opinion on what the last bit of the clip (from the 5:00 minute mark onwards) is meant to represent? For mine is either the Big Bang or human inception though Im leaning more towards the former since theres an explosion at the end.

Also is the audio part of the last bit Ive mentioned included in the track in the album it originally came out in? I ask this cos I got the best of cd (Collected) and its not in the version of the song I have.

  • Whilst I do not have the cd i will agree with your theory of human existence imploding through violence or other means. I could only conclude this by watching the waring scenes. Perhaps my argument or thoughts on the matter are simplistic but they are assuredly my own. Sometimes whilst posting anything on the internet one gets attacked for their opinions. I do hope I shall not be attacked for my own.

  • reminds me of the 007 themes i love massive attack

  • i love the contrast between the dead and dying monotonous city and then the colour of, almost, the interior human when compared to the human in society(point a to point b)

  • Craig Armstrong

  • hey isnt one of the guys in the end from the music video angel?

  • I believe you're refering to Tricky, and yes he was being chased in the Angels video. He had a phobia of parking lots, and guardian angels were showing up to help him.

  • I thought that was Daddy G

  • Did the singer leave Massive Attack? I do not hear her in the later songs.

  • Massive Attack (much like many electronic artists) are constantly using guest singers on their tracks. Nicolette, the singer on this has her own solo work as well.

  • MWAHAHAA... Does not know Massive Attack!!? Always very away ahead with music!!! Why all those soundtracks.....XD

  • this video inspires me so much, it reminds me of good times.

  • Yeah, the good OLD TIMES!!!! XD

  • Mwahahahaa... "There is always more"!!!

  • I always thought this should have been a Bond theme.

  • that's exactly what i always thought. good idea man

  • Music and lyrics with soul thats whats missing in this world feel things with soul, not the body.

  • its a little hard to do that when you got a hot chcik in the video

  • I understand you :) ... you have only 25... when you get to my age you will think a little bit different. You didnt get the message - I Love Massive Attack

  • lol, listen to tool

    much soul there

  • impressive video..

  • How good is this band,,,really? If you think about it some of this shit is 10+ years old now and so ahead of its time. Personal taste? I don't think it has to do with that, more if you have an actual ear for good music or not.

  • NO. Its personal taste, understanding of music, how flexible or varied your taste is and how one feels towards it. Not necessarily all, but certainly not one.

Massive attack of their own, they are a good band to some, due to their popularity, or their use of sounds.

It really depends on ones taste based on a lot of things.

Also, they are not trip hop, thats a term invented by a journalist which is now used for selling, such as Ibiza chillout albums. damn music industry.

  • its not all 1 taste.

  • wot i love bout MASSIVE ATTACK is their music is mixed. thats why i enjoy listenin 2 it

  • does this count as triphop or drum and bass? is this the same genre as amon tobin and nighgmares on wax n shit? im askin cause this isnt my scine, and how is mozart pop? lol

  • technically it is trip hop..

  • This song is the bomb!

  • two big thumbs up for the two comments below, both smart fellows obv. good to see the whole world isn't actually full of morons after all :)

    Peace.

  • I completely agree on your point and your statement.

But it's not right to compare M.A. to Mozart...It's just dumb, Mozart started writing music, Hugely more complex than this, at 7 years old....I won't say that M.A. aren't interesting and charming. But I still won't compare EVER.

    What do you think?

  • It's all about personal taste, some people like Mozart, some peope prefer massive attack. Some people even like Country and Western. Strange but true. People get a bit too bogged down in ranking everything, the top ten this, the best 50 that. You like what you like and no-one should tell you any different.

  • I can agree. I like tones of things and what i like most is when songs are eclectic, new and experimental.

People who like a specific genre are not fully aware that most genres come from blues or classical music etc.

There is insipiration and influence and their is original takes, where a band is influenced yet add most of their ideas and strive to express themselves. This always leads to fresh tunes as we are all individual and capable of creating new shit. e.g MA. We are idle these days.

  • What I love most about this music is the 'spiritual' dimension about it..like in some mystical trance. that's the most powerful purpose of music imo - to help us reenter the transcendental realms of existence and to recall our true Selves- spirit not body. eternal groove

  • highly recommend strong dose of psilocybin with this

  • gorgeous :D

  • just awsome ;P i fell in love in this

  • Pop vs. Art.

One moves records, the other gets right into your soul and smacks it around until it turns into something completely different

Massive Attack are the best artists i have ever heard. Better than Mozart.

  • mozart is completely different from this, how do you actually compare them?

  • the only way you can ever compare artists. Artistic depth.

  • Wow, what a harsh comparison...Do you really think that Mozart's genius is shallower than M.A.'s? Hmm...sorry but I can't see where Mozart is inferior to this music.

  • yes excactly! what Blashpemy to compare the great master of musical genious to an electronic contemporary band.

  • hahahahahahahahaha

    poor child

    learn something of music first...

i hate mozart and i like M.A., but you cant compare...

you have a lot to learn little one...

  • TFTUL --- (thanks for the upload)

  • boskie

  • This is my first exposure to this group and I gotta say Im very impressed

  • The best track from massive attack ever with nicolette singing in her amazing way.

  • the best song ever....love it soooooooooooo much.

  • it's so great....enter like some magical trance state..plus it reminds me of ZOoooms :p

  • top notch

  • Nicolette I think

  • copado, veo que se trata de oriente el video

  • que hermoso tema muy buena me mueve mucho esta cancion sly ... el video muy porrero ,pero excelent massive attack!!!

  • this shit would be AMAZING while you were on shrooms... or maybe not... maybe it wouuld just scare you.

  • It was. My first mushroom trip ever strangely enough this was playing on MTV back when they had a show called Amped. lol

  • I never get tired of seeing this beautiful video

    BEST EVER

  • i love massive attack

  • Check out the spiritual ecg scene at the first seconds

  • simply beautiful

  • excelente cancion de massive!

  • ..piękny, zmysłowy, sensualny klip i muza. Wokal kojący i zapadający w pamieci. Ten kawałek kojarzy mi się z samymi przyjemnymi sytuacjami.Polecam

  • Love the moody atmosperic rhythms and lush strings at the end

  • Sends shivers down my spine from 3:50 to the end. Makes me think to the end of the world...

    Just beautiful

  • the chick at 3:30 is cool

  • Massive Attack were a huge group over in England, and still are, and have been since their first album. They didn't break America, but America wasn't really into electronic music in the early 90s, as I remember, unless it was Hip Hop or Madonna had made it.

By the way, does anyone remember them changing their name to 'Massive' during the first Gulf War, at the order of the BBC. The DJs saying 'Massive Attack' would apparently have upset people during a war!!

  • This is absolutely fucking brilliant.

  • this song is so trippy-love it

  • trippy

  • check this out:

    EQUALEYES - A PHONY DREAM

    equaleyes . net

  • This would be freaky if you were high. Cool song though.

  • No, its the total opposite, it is beautiful. You get lost in the imagination of massive attack.

  • This song is artsy. The chick that sings this is great. The imagery in this video is great

  • I think that's a fair assumption.

Pity that most of the world never does.

  • i love that video and song

  • i think massive attack songs are strong enough to produce pictures on their own, but i LOVE the videos, as well!

  • I dunno buh what does this has to do with drum and bass.. i typed that in i swear -_-*

  • Love it. Psycodelical Voyage Real.

  • Cool!!!!

  • coolest video ive ever seen

  • Now I know why one of my favorite all time bands never blew up... crap videos. Darn shame

  • just watch em in another...shape....if u know what i mean ;-)

  • They never blew up because they produce introspective, countercultural music that speaks to fragile personal worlds that are created as a response to alienation, which, for the mainstream, is not generally a problem.

  • very interesting thought!

    props!

  • amen my dear!

the mainstream is soo ignorant it can't understand the massive attack's "philosophy"..too bad4em

  • It's somehow ignorant to say that the system (who controls the mainstream) can't understand.

Ask yourself why the mainstream is soulless/spiritless predictable crap.

Because they earn more money? No. They have plenty of it, why bother?!

  • How dare you call this brilliant clip a "crap" video? Just like their music it is a work of art you fool, if you're stupid to see that than that's your problem.

  • Konnoisseur

I completely agree with the idea behind your opinion, however the method employed to relay this message was faulty. Here is why; "Art" is something intangible unlike "Artwork" (works of art) which is the end result of said word. Anybody may appreciate artwork as much as anyone can express disdain to the artwork in question. I believe you wanted to express the efforts required to express oneself via artwork. Efforts do not necessitate quality, that is to the eye of the beholder.

  • very nice song,i got the single ;)

  • black geisha

  • This is just my thoughts. I'm a massive attack fan, but I'm not a huge fan of this song, Or the video. The songs not bad, but the video just doesn't do it for me.

  • i agree its like a bad gap commercial

  • the song is sick. subtle, very cool voice.

  • if this is like your experiences at gap, I would love to visit this store where they disperse hallucinogens in the ventilation..please

  • if you read my comment i wrote gap commercial. would never shop at the gap too white for my blood.

  • was a joke

  • Soooo Sexy!!!!

  • An excellent trip.

  • wow beautiful video

  • After all these years this songs still sounds timeless!! I love it!

  • delicieux, merci

  • the most suggestive video

  • i want to be with a girl who is into massive attack.

  • Hellll yeah
