Great track, I also own that Suzi Q album. Other tracks on that album are also great ,like True love travels on a gravel road, and Potrait of my Love. Some discussion about when his was recorded on several Elvis forums. Even mentioning this comes originally from a Betamax Video tape ,It's in the hands of graceland they say,.
Hi! @Elvos2008 Thanks for your comment on this upload. The Betamax source is interesting and very plausible. Who other than Elvis's family members, The Memphis Mafia along wirh their next of kin, would have beel allowed in the showroom during rehearsals. I finds this much more likely than my own idea, that someone working at The International/Hilton Hotel should have brought a tape recorder to work. Please upload some rehearsals, in case you got the time.
@Amysupport hey is there any chance you can email me a copy of the audio to this? this is the only song that i dont have in my collection from the january/feb 1970 las vegas engagement
In my opinion this is a old copy cassette of the january 1970 rehearsal, the original recordings was never released and sleeps in a safe :/ (sorry for my bad english)
Released in 1985, on the bootleg LP Susie Q as part of a longer rehearsal, True Love Travels On A Gravel Road is uoploaded elsewhere on YouTube, plus some other rare songs rehearsed by Elvis. I once bought bootleg CD with assorted rarities and this was the last track. And the best!
Awesome accoustics, that airy, wall of sound! As I listen, it sounds as if Elvis were actually in the very next room, singing live! It's surreal.

From a video source or not?, Betamax was not introduced to the market until 1975.
