i miss the money i spent on being part of the crowley agenda. the drugs, the shit relationships and the wasted time.... hey vince,k'nave my money back.............and my soul? -the 'entertainment' industry is full of sell outs. and i got duped!
i hope you all get well soon.............rev. 6:8 & ecclesiastes 12:6
i adore pretties for you! its an amazing album and in some ways it does remind me of zappas earliest albums! i initially started listening to zappa because i like steve vai but i really got into his first few albums because theyre so bizarre and its not a far stretch from pretties or easy action. theres always something new to hear and i doubt anyone could get away with writing something so interesting these days
thank god for zappa!!! RIP, frank!!! i guess it would have to take a musical genius & master guitarist to give the ultimate rocker his start. otherwise... where the hell would we be? trapped in a world of just dancin fools!!! zappa & alice... the REAL toxic twins!!!
that first album IS really weird. Not in a good way---I mean, some of the songs are okay, but most of it is really bad experimentation--kind of fun, but still--just knowing ZAPPA couldn't get it, awesome.
@GymnopedieTornado Very weird and bad experimentation is a great discription of that first release. I remember feeling so happy to see something of Alice's I hadn't seen (at that time). After the listening I was happier placing the needle downon Love It To Death! It was 'different' to say the least. Perhaps its the interruption of the message which provides the alternative to reshape the conscious mind?? And Zappa not getting it is priceless. They both loved to reshape the conscious reality.
Definitely some great stories. I truly miss Frank. The world needs people/artirts like him and Captain Beefheart.
