  • ahh so nice

  • you can get a cheap sequencer like mmt 8 and your set.

  • Original drumsynthzer !!

    very unik sound!

    'luv dat

  • How hard was this to set up over MIDI? Are any of the parameters on the DRM being changed (I thought it was an analogue machine) or is it just the hits. Did the monomachine sequence the DRM out of the box or did you have to set it up to make sure the right triggers were sending the right messages for the DRM. How hard is that, do you need to know your MIDI to do that kind of stuff?

  • @emoboi86 that's what i wanna know. i've had my eye on that type of combo just trying to make sure is right idea before get it and find out otherwise.

  • One of my coworkers is selling one with chrome knobs for $550 - can't get it :-/

  • But it's the MKII not MK3

  • thats a steal! :)

  • some interesting tones....

  • my 2 favorite pieces of equipment. both of which i dont own yet :(

  • this beat is rad as hell

  • ever since I got VERMONA tatooed on my forehead life has been a lot better!!!!

  • what kind of controler is this???

  • It isn't a controller. It's a drum module.

  • drum machine / synth. pretty dope innit. Check out the Vermona PerFourMer. It's what theyre now selling on the vermona website. Theyre both pretty sick and i think u can plug in instruments and stuff via the stereo jacks and tweak them about too.

  • its not a controller..

take the title and insert it in google.

  • i want a monomachine, fucking lovely

  • I always wanted something like this to exist. And you can't beat that price!

  • those are the most insane and full of knobs things you can possibly get

    I WANT ONE!!

  • what ever "bunch a numbers"!!!

do you know how many of those things are being used today?!!!

    ALOT...

    and they are still being made! +}

  • I am buying one of this beauties, could someone suggest a sequencer? Or perhaps somewhere I could look at sequencers?

  • As you can see I use Monomachine sequencer for my DRM. Also I`ve ordered Analog Systems sequencer but didn`t get one yet.

  • so it doesnt have a built in sequencer

  • why would you want one?

  • built in sequencer? eh? that's for grooveboxs and electribes and all those other kiddie toys.

  • agreed

  • well im just a starting out producer. i just do my drums in fruity loops right now, eventually i want a drum machine. although by the time i get a drum machine ill probably already have a midi sequencer anyways

  • Yeah, and the 808, the 909, the MPCs and the Elektrons. Kiddie toys like those.

The DRM-1 series is great kit, with personality. It complements JoMoX and Elektron drum machines nicely, and the BBD reverb {right? It's not just filtered noise, I think} on the snare and clap is just ace.

  • because you cane morph noises to kingdome come with one of those things

  • I actually laughed at that

  • Me too))

  • i think the whole "it doesnt need a sequencer" is kind of a joke. it should do my taxes as far as im concerned

  • I just bought a mkiii and it kicks ass! Super solid build and really VCO analog sounding, like a tr-606 on krak!

  • is the MIDI implementation smooth on this thing?

  • Assuming it's the same as mk2 version, the midi implementation is as follows:

    • Note-on message of the appropriate note triggers the respective drum. Note-off is not necessary.

    • Triggering a hat/cym channel cuts off the other voice playing in that channel (e.g., "open hihat" cuts off "closed hihat" sound).

    • Overall midi channel, and note assignment per sound can be customized.

  • • All sounds are velocity sensitive in that they are quieter with a lesser volume-byte value; and as this is analogue, change in volume byte has subtle effects on the tone or character of a drum hit.

    • On channels with reverb (e.g., snare), successive drum hits do not cut off the reverb tail of the preceeding hit.

  • all i can say is, alot of money..?

  • wow. sweet.

  • No probem so far. It seems solid as a German Panzer.

  • Sorry you can delete some of those comments I didn't think youtube was working, obviously.

Can you try an experiment and have a clap with a long reverb delay. Then make a deep snare with a decay and play the snare over the clap decay tail and see of chops the volume a bit.

It my just be a quirk of the machine, or I may need to replace my Epromm again.

Thanks in advance if you get the time.

  • Yep, I`ll do it for you this week :-))

  • Sorry for delay I did this experiment for you and enerything works perfect. But. Please check panorama for CLAP, HIHAT,SNARE. It seems that mine doesn`t work.

Now it`s my turn to say - Thanks in advance if you get the time.

  • Cheers, mine works fine.

I know it's obvious, but your not using the direct outs on top and not getting pan ?

Obviously that will just give you center field so you can pan with your mixer.

Obvious I know, but sometimes I forget how I'm routed.

From the stereo out, all my pans work as they should, I would get in contact with vermona if not, they are very helpful.

  • Re Pan - ) My mind is clear now - this a bug. However I didn`t find any support address of Vermona. Did you?

    Awaiting reply
