  • The scary thing which I refused to believe for a long time is, they plan that stuff. I am a musician myself, and there is nothing else than admiration and reverence for this four beyond talented guys.

  • I was skeptical. Now I am not.

  • Omg, I love the ending! How one track seems to slow down, it echoes and gets off sync, it's so disturbingly beautiful... I am SO putting this on my Ipod!

  • @belaythisorder I would like to get a copy of this if you have it available anywhere. Also maybe the slight off sync of the tracks is intentional, sometimes when people have strokes half of their brain stops working correctly so maybe we are listening to a fight between two halves of a brain.

  • Im sorry but you can't even hear Viginti Tres at all so you may as well forget it.

As for the rest, wings pt 1 is diff song with a diff timing and doesnt fit either apart from the ending, (which still sounds wrong and uncomfortable).

I can't help but think this wasn't intentional and fans have got the wrong end of the stick here. It is basically just 10,000 days drowning out the other two tracks that sont even fit anyway...

  • holy shit

  • I am a deep thinking motherfucker and thus, I may spread myself too thin too grasp this....although I feel and believe, and completely understand the relevance to everything that this speaks too....I jsut find it so difficult to attach myself to these huge, unpredictable, beautiful and STRONG things you have allowed me to discover.....

  • @merkaba42020 This is TOOL. This is TOOL. This is TOOL.

  • Im sorry no matter what I have heard about 10 different versions of this and it just sounds like 10000 days is being drowned out in most parts.

  • Great album, but I way love this mashup over all the rest!

  • Id like a copy of this, its deep like this, Ten Thousand Days is their best so far, as far as Im concerned

  • 10:17 "if you should see satans face tonight" fucking creepy..

  • @ImAChristian666 That is fricken creepy.

  • I believe there is more than one way to see many things... I applaud people who take something and extrapolate deep meanings, though I believe these meanings are a subjective reflection of our mindstate at the time of experience.

    Gotta LOVE Tool!

It would be cool if Tool DID do an intentional secret/mix track. T'would also be cool if Maynard were world leader!

  • I did this with the Wings for Marie tracks (surround mixed) without 23 (Viginti Tres) and it sounded amazing. IIRC it was a bit out of sync at the end, though.

  • Well I don't know if this combination was intentional or not... I just know it sounds amazing and eargasming and I love it :)

  • Love it. Great job.

  • Use headphones, some parts are crazy awesome

  • Everyone's a critic. Fuck all you haters.

  • ... but if they would have intended that these two Tracks, Wings for Mary and 10,000 Days, should be mixed together, they would have kept the Amount of Notes low and they would have made the two Songs completin' each other instead of fusing them to an untimed Chaos.

I have mixed THE HOLY GIFT and it is a Truth, but these Tracks' Funsion's Theory, unfortunately is not.

Good Version anyway, not quite as bad as all the Others I have heard.

  • I am afraid that it does not work. The Experience should prove it, but People still live up to the Delusion that these Tracks belong together.

The first Part with Viginti Tres fits, but the second Part is just Noise, nothin' else. Tool are great at makin' wonderful Songs with just a few Notes, not so dense: Disposition, Intension, the quiet Parts of Lateralus or the whole long Beginning of the Pushit Live Version...

  • You can get free software to download MP3s from YouTube.

Should I have just told you that?

  • what happens if u play every tool song together??????????????

  • @cunliffe5108 The world explodes.

  • @JimBritcliffe no....chuck norris just dies. Tool is his only weakness and our only saviour. :P

  • @cunliffe5108 loud noise

  • @cunliffe5108 Silly person, the world doesn't explode, it IMPLODES.

James would of wanted it like that.

  • @cunliffe5108 A less clusterfuck-y version of The Great in the Small.

  • good cept u messed up the sync at the end...the lyrics are not supposed to match cuz after the first few lines the words are completely different..saying them at the same time makes it impossible to understand them

  • I like it but I don't think it works. Not your sync, but the fact that even perfectly synched (sp?) it doesn't really work. It works in the begining but, as the time goes they seem to not make sense anymore.

  • Its best ifwhen it getts to the breakdown where it syncs up, cut before that and replace the track with vinginti tres

  • the depth that these songs had before, and the depth that this song as a whole has is just so crazy that i cannot begin to imagine the mind that made this

  • @DayFire115 i believe they are not the mind or mere minds of homo sapiens...46&2...

  • I see you also had no luck syncing the bit under the guitar solo/lead

My version almost drove me insane until I began to think that maybe it was deliberately awkward

It's on my profile if it takes your fancy

    Nice job dude

  • @buttmonkey3 I agree with your statement that the tempos are not the same. after 9:14, I had to alter the length of one of the tracks because its tempo was ~98% of that of the other

  • @belaythisorder

Do you think it was intentional?

I always thought that Tool never recognised the track because it doesn't work ...

  • @buttmonkey3 I think it was intentional, but the reason they never recognised it was because they wanted people get the rewarding experience of finding an easter egg. After I listened through it a few times, it no longer bothers me that the tracks are not completely cohesive.

  • @belaythisorder

    Fair enough dude

  • @belaythisorder Maybe you never heard about this, I'll try to explain it the easy way. It's an effect called Chorus, very common (and popular) among electric musicians. What it does, basically, is to replicate the signal you send in (whatever it is), slow it down (or quicken it up), and then it mixes both the original signal and the altered replica for the output. Maybe, and I'm just saying Maybe, they wanted to recreate the Chorus effect for those who wanted to overlap the tracks.

  • I would like a copy!! please!!

  • @MissPatchez I've uploaded a copy to megaupload. append this to megaupload's address: /?d=GG8HQALD

  • im gonna have to get my brothers 8-track and work on a song like this.

i wonder if i could do it ~_~

  • im gonna have to get my brothers 8-track and work on a song like this.

  • Wish this was an official song, one of their best I think

  • Thank you, I love this, it is epically beautiful. Thank you so much. <3

  • fucking perfect. thank you.

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

  • FINALLY

  • a great tool song that probably not many people will hear

  • try listening to it while playing mario galaxy... who needs drugs

  • very nice when I show people this song I use this =) great work

  • I tried doing this myself, but I just couldn't seem to get it right. Looking around at other posts, I guess my problem was using mp3, because of that damn gap when you try to combine Viginti Tres and Wings for Marie. I'm glad you got the lyrics at the end to sync so well.

  • It's nice that someone finally took the time to do this inspiring marriage of sonic brilliance justice.

    Well done.

  • @KEEGANC thank you sir
