does anybody know if RA has a larger than normal heart?(for those who don't understand what this means, there has been research done on horse genetics and have found that the larger than average thoroughbred heart gene is carried on the x chromosome. when I horse has a larger heart they can usually run better and have more stamina.This is the reason why Man O' War and Secretariat were such successful racehorses.Secretariat's heart was 22lb at his autopsy! the average thoroughbred heart is 9 lbs!

The only way to know for certain is to track down Medaglia D'Oro: the genetics you speak of usually follow the pattern of a father passing it on to his daughter, and she in turn passing it to her sons. Even if she only gets one gene from her father, it will make her QUITE the speedy horse.
This beautiful filly will be remembered as one of the greats, I can almost garuntee that, and probably not just for what she has accomplished so far.... this fill will go to do more, I am sure of it
I'm pretty sure that is Rudy Gallegos up and this was her Sunday (April 26) exercise ride; Calvin Borel put in her final work on Monday (April 27) morning shortly after that very unfortunate wreck. Borel has a very different visual work style which is fantastic to watch.
They thought a field of 19 horses would be too much for her, although she could prove to better than the colts in the Oaks. Maybe we will see her in the Preakness.

I remember Eight Bells and Ruffian (do a Google image search) There are at least three "break-downs" and deaths of these beautiful horses every day.
