  • or I forgot those withdrawls are horrible. but for me lasted only about a couple of months. then it stopped. now I don't crave junk food anymore, or very limited amounts, I don't need willpower to avoid eating junk even if it is around. I have pop around and sometimes chips and chocolates and I have no problem portion control with them now when before it was impossible. sometimes I throw stuff away cause I m not hungry and yes exercise will come in time don't force it.

  • a low carb diet really works for this, it did for me, nothing else did, mszpul I suggest you read the article by stephanie seneff, google her name, if you do low carb do not restrict the fat, now after a long while being on low carb I can eat sweets again without having to eat a ton of it for satitety, also I can eat fruit and one serving of ice cream and do fine when before it was like half a gallon in two days thing. I take gtf supplement to help. I eat lots of fruit and veggies now.

  • The only thing about it is, most low or sugar-free food tastes like crap.

  • natalaie your just the sweetest thing

  • yeah....try a marijuana "flashback"!

  • exercise sucks! I am overweight and I walk to work everyday! It takes me 30 to 40 minutes to do so....and this is one way! Yet I do not loose the weight!!!!!! AAAARRRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!!!!

  • @MusicPortugal1

you won't lose weight without proper nutrition. Exercise itself is almost meaningless without proper nutrition.

  • @MusicPortugal1 The 80 20 rule is 80% is what we eat 20% is excercise

  • @MusicPortugal1 THERE IS A GUY ON YOUTUBE THAT TELLS YOU HOW TO MAKE THOSE CALORIES BURN OFF AND YOU WILL SEE RESULTS-HE SAYS- BUT IF YOUR DOING 80 MINUTES WALKING ANYWAY YOU TIME YOURSELF TO BURN. yOU HAVE TO FIND HIM TO-HE IS ON MY FAVORITES SOMEWHERE. iF i FIND iLL GET BACK TO U

  • Natalie is also sweet and refined but unlike sugar she actually helps people.

  • thank you so much Natalie. I have been eating so much suger lately and it has been making me sick and depressed. I am sure my body is addicted to it, but hopefully now with your tips in mind, i can conquer those intense cravings and feel better!

  • "if youre used to having a craving and eating a whole candy bar" LOLOL....i think anyone with a sugar addiction eats more than just one candy bar wen they get a craving...try half a cake.

  • This is a wonderful video with all the important points you need to get off sugar. It really inspired me to concentrate on all the foods I need rather than the foods I crave and don't want in my diet. You've done it again, Natalie! Thank you.

  • thank you so much! great video

  • This young lady is extremely pretty so made it difficult to concentrate on her subject matter. But what I like is how she makes these concepts very simple, rather than using a lot of hard-to-understand jargon

  • Thanks for the video...

I hate soft drinks and package snacks so I touch it maybe once a month. However, I am craving for cakes and cookies almost every day.

I eat lots of fruits and vegetable and exercise intensively except that I have to eat cake or cookie everyday.

Plus I'm not overweight at all (5'2... quite short for a guy huh? and 120 pounds)

Really don't know what to do...

  • @chatrabbita

perhaps u need 2 take some mineral supplement such as chromium picolinate, magnesium and zinc

  • i love your tips but i work in a place where sweets are around me everywhere i turn......WHAT DO I DO

  • EXCELLENT tips!

I am off sugar six days a week; I have found that I can still indulge ONE DAY ONLY per week. As long as I keep my body lean and fit, I find that I can tolerate a once-a-week indulgence.

  • Wonderful video! Thank you so much for sharing! Very helpful! I notice someone commented in feeling angry when not eating chocolate or sugars...I also experience that. Is that a reason for that? Thanks a lot.

  • I can't believe you showing all this sugar in your video. Glad this isn't about alcoholism and you're showing beers and hard liquors. I'm not a sugar fan by any means but when I saw all those candies in the background...I had a craving. I can only imagine what it's doing to an addict.

  • My friend K2 and I just gave up sugar 8 days ago. In your video you are showing tons of gorgeous sugar porn. Sodas, chocolates, candy, It's good that we didn't watch this on days 3/4 or we would have died. it gets easier after day 3/4. We cut out every type of sugar except 1 piece of fruit a day. Food tastes so much better after giving up sugar. Try it see how addicted you are. You can do it.

  • ! Have you thought about intellectus diet (do a google search for intellectus424dietcom)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • Comment removed

  • :( Im so addicted!

  • Sugar is poison that is killing most people slowly.

Even brain cancer is linked to high amounts of

    sugar consumption.

  • I gave up sugar for 3 months once and then I ate a mars bar and became hypo and euphoric and when i closed my eyes i could see color patterns...r we supposed to get rid of all sugar?????

  • i just ate my last piece of cakes

    i quit

  • I'm a sugar addict becuz I thought when I was going through anger management my therapist recommend & praised me for not smoking cigars no more plus stop using sex as my way to get rid of my frustration but now that I gotta kick sugar away it's hard...I love my Lil Debbie & Sierra Mist so much I dumped Pepsi she was selfish & Twix was a two timer so we never saw eye to eye anymore. Oh u damn right if its in my house I'ma eat it I don't give care if it's mornin, noon,or night I'm hittin dem sweets

  • It's just food.... Once you conquer your food addictions, you discover there is so much joy in other activities as well as in healthy foods. Your taste buds actually awaken and everything starts to taste so good! I'm now 90% raw and it's awesome! My mind is so clear, I feel much more intelligent and sharp. My memory has improved!!!

  • Thanks so much for the tips they're really going to help me cut sugar from my diet!!

  • i think i love you

  • The host is hot!!!!

  • If i am not getting something sweet, my mood is kinda crapped...

  • "Keep it out of your house" a problem for young people like me who are still living with their families and don't really control what food is in the house. Especially when you family loves drinking Cola and eating sweet milk products.

  • @marvelona You can't really run away from people on this small globe that's over populated. Family, roommates, girlfriends, boyfriends, spouse, children - you will always have somebody in your house, or at least you'll go to parties or be tempted by commercials. It's not about perfect outside circumstances. It's about decision making and willpower. Making a change takes... certain effort. Then the butterfly is born.

  • @marvelona so true. Same problem here

  • Halloween yeah candy yeah. F**k our teeth, lets get fat.

  • 16 people are obese and in denial

  • For the past two months, I have been on a low-carb, low-fat diet. I have not cheated once while on this diet and I lost 26 lbs. However, I still crave sweets every day. I think about the bakery goods (my weakness) I used to eat. So I have to disagree with the statement that cravings go away once you stop eating sugar. When you are not hungry, you have more control and are less likely to give in but that's about it. The cravings never actually go away. It sucks.

  • @mszypul The problem is that you need fat. If you want to reduce the hydrogenated fats and stuff that's great, but saturated fats from butter, and grass fed meats are good, as well as healthy fats, from nuts and such. Increasing your fat will cut down on your sugar cravings as well.

  • @mszypul give it more time. every specific 'addiction' is unique to the individual . some waters run really deep, but youll get there 2 months is not so long a time infact its no time at all

  • @mszypul

did the same thing, lost 15lbs, but the cravings didn't go away.

  • @mszypul This post was about 10 months ago, but go on a low-carb HIGH fat diet and you'll lose even more weight, and the sugar cravings will go away. By high fat I dont mean fast food. Things like fish, red meat, coconut oil, etc. Your body is SUPPOSED to run on fat. People are under the illusion that if you eat fat, you get fat. Which is just not true. Eventually your body learns to burn fat for energy rather than simple sugar carbs. The cravings are because your body is craving easy fuel.

  • Awesome video with great advice. I am determined to beat my sugar addiction! It has been so bad for me - I am thin but I may not always be and I know sugar is having bad effects on my body. I really medicate myself with it! I also crave it a lot more at certain times in my cycle so I think it may actually be messing with my hormones o_O

  • @Lovesfoxes

sugar addiction is most due 2 lack of b-complex vitamins, magnesium(if u r addicted 2 sweet foods containing chocolate like oreo or choc milk or choc candy like kit kat),chromium and possibly calcium(if ur addicted specifically 2 soda pop)

go 2 ur doc and get a blood test 2 c what vitamins and minerals ur addicted 2

  • Natalie that was really good information. You know what you're talking about. You're adorable! Thanks for the info.

  • very very helpful. I'm working on cutting out sugar and gluten.... this was very helpful.

  • Thanks for making such a great contribution. I've learned so much from watching your videos

  • If I can beat the sugar addiction, maybe weight loss will be easier. Cutting out artificially sweetened stuff and sugary drinks will be easy. It will be not bringing snacks home that is going to be tough.

  • yeah my 2 coffees with cream and sugar each morning is a diabolical way to start the day - get my sugar level up first thing, then what!? Stopping today and expect the first days to be tough.

  • whenever i wanted sugar i reached for a kiwi or an orange...those are supersweet!!

  • Getting this right is the most important step, very informative.

  • SUGAR IS JUNK! Everybody is so concerned about the OUTSIDE environment...and the FIRST and closest environment we have is US. I am not fat by usually accepted standards, but i am fat FOR ME, and what I know I feel like when 10/15 lbs lighter. I eat WAY too much sugar and am tired at 6 or 7 pm every evening! That is crazy! I drink coffee(hate it black)so it is really a 'sugar delivery system'. Pop too. Done with that! I know I can do it...follow my progress on my channel. Here I go!...

  • I know this is completely wrong, but I love chocolate. lol I always have a handful of tootsie rolls for an entire week, so all in all, it's not that bad. I may have a package of M&Ms for an entire week. I have some on hand, I just don't DIVE IN. lol

  • It's been my experience that people don't like to "don't," though I can appreciate the fact that limitation and boundaries have to be set in order to achieve certain results in life. I think a healthier approach would be to recommend to "do" but to do so "mindfully" because one cannot continue to do something that causes pain and do it with a mind-fully-aware for very long.

  • Well, u guys cant really argue with an expert saying that sugar is bad for u.

  • lifes too short to not enjoy sugar.

  • Comment removed

  • I've had alot of success with getting off sugar at home - not so good at work. some good snacks when i have a craving: a few baked crackers, small gingersnaps (sweet but not addictive), dried apricots, carrots, Clif bars, dates wtih walnuts inside. I make some of my own cookies and crackers using little or no sugar. It also helps to have some fat and protein (such as an egg) for breakfast. I get bad cravings if I only have juice and cereal for breakfast.

  • Very good advice. Similar story... I used to eat added salt on EVERY meal and felt like I needed it everytime. I finally stopped eating salt and I don't even think about it now. Obviously this works for sugar cravings.

  • Natalie,

Great info. I rarely have candy at the house. I somehow have the discipline not to buy it when I grocery shop. However, I lack the discipline neccesary to avoid eating candy from the candy jar in the cubicle next to me at work. The only time it goes empty is when she takes a day off. I raid the jar almost daily & take a couple of hands full of mini-candies, which probably equates to 2 or 3 whole candy bars.

Can you suggest anything? Should I just keep a bucket of apples at my desk?

  • @LowOutput Keep dried fruit at your desk! I usually munch on dried apricots or dried apples when I need sugar but don't feel like buying candy.

  • Thank you so much for creating the video and sharing your knowledge. I am giving up refined sugar. I am creating a healthier me.

  • Looks like a sales pitch to me.

  • I have PCOS and a chocolate addiction.

I am now trying to quit, especially chocolate.. It's the 5th day without chocolate. I am trying to go low GI as well, as much as possible, so I am not replacing the chocolates with apple pies. The problem here is that, I am very very nervous and angry. I was wondering how long that would take? I have no idea, a week, a month?

I know I'll be ok eventually if I hang in here.. It comes emotionally very complex..

  • @esinishe it will take 3 weeks, i heard once, and it's true, because I experienced it myself; so 3 weeks of suffering, after that it will all be better than before!

  • @esinishe it will take 3 weeks, i heard once, and it's true, because I experienced it myself; so 3 weeks of suffering, after that it will all be better than before!

  • @esinishe Hang in there. They will not last forever. And the longer you go, the easier it will get. Whenever I would get nervous or angry, I try to do some sort of exercise for 5 minutes or so...anything...walk up and down steps, walk to the farthest copier, go to the ladies room and stay there and deep breathe for 2 minutes...and you will find that it passes withing 4 - 12 minutes. It does go away. Knowing that, it is easier to deal with knowing there is an "end" to it. Gretchen Jack

  • @esinishe, the summer time is a great time to beat a sugar addiction. I recommend keeping your favorite fruit readily available. For me it's watermelon. Eat as much of it as your want, as often as you want. Your body will begin adjusting and then you can reduce your fruit intake. I have no craving for sugar at all now and I'm starting to get tired of the watermelon. I recommend honey too. Natural sugars are a necessity so embrace them.

  • your sweet

  • i got alot skinner from these tips i drank juice i ate fruits for snacks but i still have sugar but not all the time and ya i havent been to mcdonalds or any of those resturaunts for 7 months and i love those resturaunts thumbs up if what i said made you lose weight :)

  • Yummm im eating a twix bar right now! and i love the SUGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • cold turkey.tomorrow.

  • im trying to get rid of sugar. dr youngs acid alkaline diet.

  • after I beat my sugar addiction, I was able to lose 80 lbs in 8.5 months.

  • I went cold turkey a month ago. The first days were terrible. I was sickly, weak, shivering and plagued with migraines. I was fatigued yet unable to sleep.

After the withdrawel symtpoms dissapeared I became more alert and energetic. My complexion cleared and my hair became healthier and my digestion improved. But the most interesting thing is how sweet everything tastes. I can seriously eat a tomato like an apple and kale and broccoli don't taste bitter. I don't care for sweet food anymore.

  • @Jjavanoid thanks so much for your encouraging testemony

  • @Jjavanoid thanx for sharing your testemony

  • @Jjavanoid - I am a college student right now and have the worst sugar addiction. I drink tea now every time I get a craving but seeing as it has not been a week yet, I get THE WORST cravings, almost like a drug addiction with the drug. The only downside is that i live in a dormatory and have availability to sweets 100% of the time, so there is great temptation. What was your go to items to overcome the cravings?

  • @bigjoe1778

I had coffee but I'm not a coffee drinker so I didn't have much of a prior tolerance for it. Fruit helped. I'd have a breakfast of fruit+greek yogurt; I enjoyed frozen berries as they lightly chilled the yogurt while melting. Frozen fruit in general is good- it takes longer to eat. There are fruit sweetened snacks that aren't addictive. I don't know what's in your area but I love the 'Nakd' raw bars that use fruits, nuts, spices and happily ate them prior to starting my eating plan.

  • she's talking about sugar like it's cocaine. Think about it, sugar is in EVERYTHING..you actually have to go out of your way to avoid it. Just doesn't seem worth it

  • @wsrhw I'm not trying to argue, just to inform. Sugar is a drug. It's a plant that is chemically processed to change it's makeup and therefore causes addiction. Sounds a bit like cocaine. You don't have strong withdrawal symptoms when you stop using non addictive, natural things. The fact that it's in EVERYTHING.. should concern you for the harm it's doing, not for the difficulty in getting off of it. I can say from first hand experiences, that it's only hard for a very short time. After that..

  • @wsrhw ...it's so completely worth it! You just have no idea the level of inflammation that sugar is causing until it's gone and you feel like a different person. I lost 20 lbs without doing a single other thing. My skin became like new skin. My chronic pain went away completely. It truly is life changing!

  • @olliojenarter really? well maybe it is worth it, maybe im just an addict in denial

  • @wsrhw it is cocaine, it is herion, try stopping and see for yourself, that is why it is called the Sweet suicide for what how it effects your body.

  • I find stevia an ok substite!

  • I can't go cold turkey, but I am cutting down on my sugar intake. I still love chocoate and desserts, but have little desire for other candy and soda. In fact, when I went to a show a few weeks ago, I ordered a bag of cherry blasters, which use to be favorite candy but haven't had in a while. I was disappointed with how they tasted that I even ended up throwing them in the trash.

  • I snort sugar off a morbidly obese man's ass..drink gravy from a pig trough..have an I.V. drip of maple syrup...scarf down deep fried lard battered lard...and shove doughnuts up my fuckin asshole and rub fryer grease all over my body for absorption

  • @gr8tgoogelymoogely yeah, thats waaaay better then being able to get close to an attractive woman :p

  • @circlestream.... Priceless!!!

  • Do you know why there is so much sugar in soft drinks esp cola? To hide all the salt.

  • is Purvia or Truvia considered an artificial sweetner if its made from the stevia leaf?

  • @starteam144.....It's not, but Truvia is owned by Pepsi, one of the largest manufactures of junk food and soda in the word. I would use only organic stevia made by a trusted company. I just don't, personally trust how Pepsi will manufacture things. Ya know, since they don't have to disclose manufacturing chemicals on the label.

  • I´ve reduced sugar drastically for half a year now. I thought I almost eliminated it completely from my diet, but recently I found out that I still crave toast and certain types of pasta, which turned out to have a relatively high amount of sugar. I tried to only eat fruits and vegetables for some consecutive days, but I really felt like I was sick, my movements became slower, I couldn´t concentrate and waking up in the morning was a nightmare. Can this still be sugar withdrawal?sombdy help pls!

  • @Dairwolf ..........just eat low carbs. You can eat all you want. Eggs, steak, chicken, salmon. All good for you. Almonds, blueberries, broccoli, cauliflower, bananas. That's all you need and you'll feel great!

  • @Dairwolf I would say maybe you're nutrition is out of balance. How do you otherwise eat when not having sugar? If you eat lots of processed food you still may be getting a lot of hidden sugar. There are several names for sugar on labels that are easy to miss. Look at the grams of sugar per serving on your labels. Also, some people do better with low carb and some do better with more complex and healthy carbs. You should test yourself. Feel free to send me a message if you have questions.

  • I agree that sugar really is no good at all. There is sugar in nearly everything now, i don't see how people eat the stuff they eat! i've gone so long without consuming sugar that it no longer even tastes good anymore, especially not fake artificial sweetners. I don't drink soft drinks, just lots of water, celery, potatoes, green beans, asparagus, chicken, eggs, beef (but i''m lite on it), grain cereals, rice, etc... and of course like natalie said is good for you, i get lots of exercise :)

  • Nothing wrong with chiken and bananas and plain yogurt!!

  • hey my mom is a vegyterian i used to eat very helthy and i allmost had no suger intakebut this made me very plaff i was like very sleepy i didnt make school every day. now i eat unhelthy drink alot off pepsi and i have a lot off suger intakt i get very piff and i am more active more awake i will say ppls body are all difrent

  • @MyLife30001 Then don't.

It's your choice. Respect your body, or give your power to inanimate objects. Which sounds better?

  • You could either go cold turkey and after a few days you wont feel like binging on sugar or you could ween yourself off...like eat 1 dessert and then maybe half a chocolate bar (standard size) and then eventually you could go without any junk for a whole day!!!!!!...LOL

And then the benefits will probably be enough for you to not go back to eating like a piggy :)

  • I guess some ppl need this 'Captain Obvious' "tips". I eat food - real food - excersize, etc. How about something useful...can I substitute honey for sugar? Why do I crave sugar? Will L-glutamine help? How about making a video for grown-ups? (Tsk)

  • I LOVE sugar, HELP

  • Natalie takes good care of her health so it's no surprise she's hot. This video is very informative and educational since most people aren't even aware that sugar is addictive. I have noticed that when it comes to sweet cravings if you can just hold off long enough they will go away on their own.

  • @KevinBusomjack i completely agree about the sugar addiction and it does go away if you stay strong! lol

  • Forget the sugar. Shes TOTALLY HOT!

  • thanks alot for video this has helped me and trying to help family that are suffering debetis 2 cause of the sugar additions. thanks very much

  • thanks alot for your video, all my family all debetis 2, I am also sugar addited, I have cried so much cause i see all my family dieing from this terrible sugar, I am trying my best stop all this sugar, trying to help all family members, yes i hear all family saying i feel moody, sad, cry, trying to stop sugar, i pray daily for them. thanks alot for video helped me alot. you are gods, angel.

  • The Think Thin bars help me with my sugar cravings.

  • Personally, I think those holidays would suck without those trademark sugar foods. Whats wrong with eating these things in moderation? IMHO, when it comes going complety cold turkey on unhealthy food (giving them up COMPLETLY and FOREVER) I doubt the benefits would really outweigh the sacrifice.

  • I love Pepsi so much--it's so hard to give it up =( I'm trying though haha

  • Thank you very much. very good way to explain/ you are amaizing

  • Thanks Natalie. I'm trying to get my friend off of sugar. She is addicted to it like I used to be. It's very hard because she is so used to eating it in frozen yogurt, frosted flakes, and bottled juices mainly. She doesn't eat a lot of candy, but she is still getting sugar from the other items. She's only 22, and I didn't stop until I was 40. I actually went back on it for a while, but I cut consumption by 90%. The bad news is I lost 7 lbs and I was already thin. Thanks again.

  • NATALIE, "GREAT" COMMON SENSE ADVISE. KEEP IT UP ! :)

  • Good Job!

  • sakin na po e2 ma'am,.,JULIEVIE DUMALAGAN BSN A

  • @SaltyTrip I completely agree - it is ridiculous to say that if you don't eat sugar you won't crave it because "your body gets used to not having it." I think people can make a conscious effort to be less reliant on it, and over time they may find it easier not to want sugar, but it's not because their BODY controls it. It's quite the opposite, it's all about your mindset.

  • anyone thinking about kicking the sugar addiction... you have to understand that you have to change your whole outlook on eating period... your eating habits have to change from eating for pleasure, to eating strategically.

  • ur cute ;)

  • I had virtually NO soda, no diet soda and no candy or anything else with white sugar for about two months! I was big on those for a while, and first 10 or 15 days were just horrible, but now... well, I guess this is how cleaned up ex-drug addicts feel like. I feel like I wouldn't have a single sip of soda!

  • great video, i find it really interesting that although sugar is addicting, so is fat and carbs. so the dieter (like me) cuts out fat and sugar, and says "yay, i am free of addiction", and then eats 10 bowls of rice (or millet or beans or whatever). what's really addicting is energy. look at cars. drivers need to drive faster and faster, and you need more energy for your car to do that. but then how are you supposed to live a drug free life if everything's a drug? i'll reply my hypothesis

  • i think that what we are addicted to is the density of the energy. if I eat a bowl of icecream that has the energy that i've eaten over my whole life, i'd be pretty addicted/dead. i can eat that many calories, it just has to be over a lifetime, not a dinner. therefore it is rather density, i.e. how much energy per plate. is there a threshold of energy density below which you are not addicted anymore? in other words, should i dilute my oatmeal to 100 kcal/cup and meditate all day? maybe!

  • i notice the more sugar i take out of my diet

the more i can taste small amounts of sweetness

i use to put 3-4 teaspoons of sugar in to my tea (12oz)

and now it seems like 2 teaspoons is sweet enough

  • Natalie, I am addicted to sugar free gum. It tricks my mind and keeps it busy so I won't have to eat. When I don't chew gum, I eat a lot. Is it bad to eat a lot of fruits? I have A LOT in a day, like maybe 10 pieces or something... is that okay?

  • @SarahHall87 Most sugar free gum has aspartame, one of the artificial sweetener Nathalie was referring too.

  • @SarahHall87 I am not Natalie, but can tell it is not bad, I can have several kilos of fruits a day

  • She's smart and explains well.

  • very informative. But you can also crave sugar if you have bad candida.

  • i cannot thankyou enough natalie, for all your help. thankyou thankyou thankyou!

  • Tip #3 is great, but unfortunately for me I have four kids who are junk food junkies. My wife said she is not going to stop buying the bad stuff.:(

  • How do you get those cool backgrounds behind you in the video?

  • What is a good substitute to sugar? Stevia? Splendia?

  • Great video. I was free of sugar cravings for years. But unfortunately, have started eating it again. It's harder than ever to stop. Not to mention the weight gain...

  • @sannoble I lost 90 lbs , unfortuantely I gained it all back in a very short amount of time due to sugar.

  • Best sugar craving killer !!- Eat good quality fats, real tree nuts , animal fats in meat , coconut oil, heavy cream/dairy, All carbs (breads starches, etc) ARE Sugar too! Stay off fruit - Eating fruit is bad advice. Eating fat DOES NOT MAKE you fat- just the opposite.. Try primal - th ebest glycemic # is zero !

  • fruits have many benefits for your body but they also have tons of sugar, and some people can have really bad brake outs from eating fruits, so make sure you're not one of them

  • I advise watching Sugar: The Bitter Truth. There's many types of sugars. The biggest one you want to avoid is high-fructose corn syrup.

  • @maalth I thought the overall message was that SUGAR is toxic, not just high-fructose corn syrup. Dr. Lustig detailed that HFCS is essentially the same as sugar. In any case, avoid them both is what I got from that video.

  • @testout13 Absolutely right. I gave the "short, short" version of the video. :) Sorry for the Spaceballs reference. Couldn't help myself.

  • What's with the gothic letters? Instead of "No More Soft Drinks" I first read "Do More Soft Drinks"

  • i gotta say good for y'all for even caring about removing this dependence/addiction to the world's least nutritious food.

P.S. they makin' lotsa dough off us too. Thats motivation enough!

    KILL CANDIDA

  • I find that triscuit whole grain crackers covered with peanut butter and anchovies help in combatting sugar cravings.

  • best video!!!

  • excelent video!!

  • Thanks a lot for all the tips! Actually, I've been trying to stop consuming sugar but I hasn't been easy at all ! I knew that there was something catchy about it and you just named it: sugar cravings!!! ;) I get so obsessed with chocolate or bread that I just can't resist eating it. I definitely know now that sugar addiction is just like any other harmful addiction like smoking or else... So I decided I'll treat myself right and understanding how my body functions is a good first step!

  • You are lovely. Thank you for the advices. *hug*

  • @craig94music.. I`m vegetarian since many years. Cut down slowly by giving yourself a daily quota of sugar. Fill the daily quota with the foods that matter most to you. If you gradually decrease your intake, you will lessen the craving and the amount of sugar it takes to satisfy the craving.

  • The most painful part of this video is when she says things like "Eventually you'll want the fruit" because i know that I'm still going to want the chocolate.

  • This woman is sexy as hell - such a lovely voice too!

  • I can´t believe that until sunday when i asked some questions about sugar in a forum i didn´t even KNOW that sugar can make addicted! All those diets i´ve tried over the years and all those weird books about healthy nutrition - i don´t need them anymore! Just knowing that sugar can make addicted has changed my life completely! Does anyone know a good sugar addiction forum on the net? And thank you for this video!

  • speaking has too much pauses for such simple theorie explanation. Video breakes are slow, cant watch the hole video because of the slow breaks all the time in the video, so I scip. Love quick info.

  • Eat half a candy bar, yeah right. hahahahahaha

  • @2626mummy1111 Its true... same way to get off caffeine if you can't go cold. You have to taper...

Very true. I recently moved in with my grandmother and you know how grandmothers are..... was good for 1 month....then I slipped :( and it's a downward spiral from there. Watched the Sugar: The Bitter Truth clip(more like a movie) and I am now empowered to once again give up sugar.

Another thing you can try is to explain to your family and friends what you are doing and why and how important this is to YOU. Make sure not to harp on them though cause that puts them in a defensive mode and practically ignore you and...flaunt the very thing you're trying to break from...sadly

After I explained how much my diet means to me my grandma tried to buy vegetarian frozen dinners for me :P

  • When you are having a sugar craving, celery with some natural peanut butter calms the rumbles.

When I do have sugar we get the block of dark chocolate, melt it and dip in strawberries. Tastes great without the massive sugar spike.

I replaced sodas with unsweetened brewed ice tea. just not after 6pm if you want to sleep.

If we are out for a family dinner the rule is 1 dessert shared.

Plenty of sun. If I do relapse I will counter a sugar binge with some celery to counter the absorption.

  • @cafeconlechegrl healthy food doesn't have to suck! it can be way better than the junk

  • I know exactly what you mean , especially when your parents may buy you things without asking you if you wanted the consumable product in the first place

  • I love what you said around 4:50. 5 stars!
