The Optoma Pico pocket projector is almost that good, it makes no noise, it fits in your pocket, it has a 20,000 hours bulb life, and it costs a third what this does.
But if you want a full time unit, don't get a pocket projector
i have this and its sweet. i play halo 3 and cod 4 on it with a 72 inch pulldown screen. It's also running on vga/component on high res. it costed me only 535 dollars plus rebate which took off 100 bucks.
Just use regular red and white cords included with your DVD player or video game console. It's not complicated at all. Yes, I have surround sound hooked up with it.
ok so i have this, im thinking about takeing it back because you CANT GET HD NOTHING ON IT!!! there is no hdmi or component. how how are all you guys getting 10801 ir 720p on it? pleazzz tell me how....i have a denon reciever and it doesent let me output through s video when my inputs are hdmi.
yeahh you need like a seperate sound system for it, im using the logitech Z-5500's, which runs dvd player, tv audio, ipod etc, all with the projector.
well the projector doesn't have any dvd player installed or anything. So you would generally use a DVD player or Computer to produce the sound and video, yellow RCA/VGA cable goes into the back of the projector and what ever sound system you have would connect to the dvd player/computer. If that makes any sense.
DLP projectors are really reliable because the picture doesn't fade or discolor over time. I heard that the Academy Awards actually uses DLP projectors for its screens.
You are living in the HD days. Wake up. 360 games are MUCH better at 1080i. Projectors to me was always a teaching tool from a PC laptop and 800 by 600 never cut it for me. I guess this is ok if you want TV on it.
this CAN support almost full hd 800x600 is the native which means it can go alot higher. doesn't mean when u hook up a computer it will be 800x600, it could be 1024x768 or higher.
Going to 1024x768 in 800x600 looks like crap. You feel like your eyes cant focus the screen. You lose alot and you notice it. Unless your watching NTSC video in 1024x768 which NTSC is 720x480. You wont notice it that way. Ok I'm done.

If the resolution is only 800x600 then you won't be able to get 720p or any of the higher resolutions.

how would you hook up your cable so you can watch tv if i get this i will not use my old hd tv cause the lamp is out and were not replacing it again
skaterman110 2 years ago
That's what the cable box is for.
Run the signals to you A/V receiver/amplifier, then the video out to the projector.

This projector can't connect anything in HD out of the box since it does not come with the component adapter.
800 x 600 is not a big deal, i can still do 1080i and even 1080p (1920 x 1080) with xbox 360.
