Dude i have this gun/barrel and if you have the platinum series like i do all you have to do yo clean it is if you have a collapsible hopper hole just snake the barrel with it on even with a noncollapsible hopper hole just snake it with it up and the one i got has great accuracy from 130 yards away

Something you didnt add maybe beacuse you dont know is that the barrel adapter for the older 98s are different thant the new ones and they wont thread in all the way. The way to fix that is to unscrew the the 2 front crews in the gun, take out the screw in the adapter and use an allen wrench in the hole to tighten it the rest of the way. then tighten the 2 screws back up in the gun

@tlppkp12 Yes, it does have a railing, its more of a groove on both sides of the top. but I used to put my red dot sight there no problem... and I am honestly not sure if it will fit it, but hell if you have the scope you can try to fit it on.

@DriveMadxPUNK Well I am pretty sure that the length of the barrel doesn't really affect the distance its what it does to the ball. for example the Flatline works by giving the ball a spinning affect. but I would say the Flatline. I am not completely sure. I would head to TechPB for that, they are awesome for any questions you have.

@tamaman08 I have never used the Quick Thread Flatline. But, I did use other flatline. whitch is hooked up to the back of your gun. where your iron sight is supposed to be.( the sight post) and then you just screw in a barrel adapter and then put in the barrel. but the quick flatline I believe is just a screw in.

I'd just like to add a couple things about this review. First of all, i own a flatline barrel and the range is very advantageous during gameplays. Second of all, if you think carefully, no balls go straight during windy days anyways. The FL helps pierce through air instead.

i have an a5 and i bought flatline thinkin it was amazing and is most ways it is but omfg accuracy is one of the worst i have ever seen i do like it and i have got some outs with it but it takes 5 shots on average to hit someone and a 98 with grav hopper it seems like to me would be a problem hope this helps

What is said about the A5 Flatline is the same with the 98 Flatline, but the 98 has an edge over the A5 Flatline, the range is longer by 10 feet on a non-windy day and using quality paintballs and using the recommended Velocity Setting of 260 to 275 fps.

Great review! I have a 98c with a flatline and response trigger and I have no trouble with chopping paint. As far as accuracy goes, it does does suffer a bit. I only use the flatline in woodsball, where it's performance is phenomenal. When I go to a park, though, I switch out my barrel for something more accurate.

I just used my new flatline for the first time

and the accuarcy was fine

but i was using very bad paint

so it was very inconsistant

but when it's there, it's very accurate

and what impresses me is how far and straight the paintballs go when shot with the right paintball and volacity

easy way to clean the barrel...

take off ur hopper and feed elbow, stick the string of the squidgy through the barrel.. and pull it out. makes everything SOOO much easier.

I bought the barrel to see how it was. Loud, and inaccurate over the long distance that it's supposed to add. Bought a lapco Big Shot 11.5 inch instead. Best barrel out there for 50 bucks. check it out

the flatline barrel is a custome barrel made by tippmanm. i use to play paintball everyweekend and i can tell you that the flatline is pretty accurate and adds another 100ft range to the gun. the only drawbacks are you have to take appart the gun to clean the barrel since you cant remove the barrel itself and it makes the 98 a longass gun as you can see in this vid i would go with the A-5 with flatline its way better
