@PinknessOfFloyd The Fuzz Face and the Tonebender (Which this pedal is made to sound like) are two quite different pedals. Especially when you concider all the versions of the Fuzz Face and the Tonebender. So what pedal you want depends on what you want to do with it.
David Gilmour used a Fuzz Face alot, he also used a muff among others.
@ProGuitarShopDemos When were most of your vids the 65 Amps London or Soho looking into both those amps so would be nice to see which pedals are good with them
@SpiralJucifer if you ever were going to get a muff, i'd recommend an IC muff clone from a reputable builder. they're absolutely magical and cut through the mix and give you all the way from quite an overdriven fuzz to huge stoner metal sound
Geez, Andy, your playing is better every time I hear it. I don't think there's a classic rock riff you don't know like the back of your hand. And, of course, you've got the best gear demos available anywhere. Now I just need to get over to the brick n' mortar PGS store downtown and buy a few goodies. Portland pride!
The problem I have with most fuzzboxes is that there is too much grit in them, almost like someone is pouring asphalt into your speaker cabinet. This was far cleaner and much more up my alley than any other fuzz with the exception of the Red Witch Fuzz God, which is the best fuzz out there, I think, because the fuzz there has a little sweetness to it plus if you want that asphalt sound you can get it. So it's a more versatile fuzz than this is.
This has always been my problem with these demos...the notes sound like Zep but a lot of the tones less so.I would always rather have generic or original material like some other retailers do.That way one can 'see' through the musical associations to the tone beyond.I now await the attack of the Andyphiles.Lol
@fendermac I think most people would agree with you, or at least know what you mean. For me though, this is about the only time I've known the tunes being used to demo, I've found that Andy tends to use a mix of well known riffs and lesser known songs in most of the other demos, don't you think?
@Lewiiiiiiiis ...It's certainly true that I don't recognise evrything either but when I see the number of comments about the actual material being played from folks who DO recognise it, it makes me wonder how much effect they hear as opposed to the tune itself. They always say that classical musos listen on crap hifis because they have the material in their heads and only really need clues to lead them as it were.I salute your reasonableness and your failure to misunderstand.Lol
@fendermac To me this comment makes no sense. If you can't hear how the pedal sounds, changing the tune won't solve your issue. Who wants to hear generic playing..MUZAK anyone?
@downwithdixie ...That it makes no sense to you may not be relevant. As far as Muzak is concerned (which I didn't mention but you did) I would ask have you heard Jet City Musics' demos?
@fendermac - First of all, these guys are trying to sell pedals. That's how they pay the bills and fund video production. PGS isn't a charity organization. Associating recognizable, popular songs with their products helps sell them. It's basic marketing, chief. Second, who the fuck cares? It's a 4 minute pedal demo on youtube. If you don't like it, quit whining and make your own.
@FreaquedeMusique If you mean the one around 2:00 it is Bring It On Home from Led Zeppelin II. You have to wait like 2 minutes until that part begins in the song.
sounds way better out of the Tele !!!
